Ok yeh, Maccas does Brioche now but do they do it with amazing cut meats or southern fried chicken? I was confused as to what to call this place as it serves up an array of Americana type dishes with interesting add ons. What you can say is Dexter pulls off a very unusual offering while still being casual enough to not feel you need a PhD to understand the menu. I ordered the Big Dexter. This was accompanied by Shoe String Fries finished with a BBQ Rub. .... Hold up. I can't forget... I actually started with a can of Tecate and Burnt Siracha Corn. Which was a great introduction to a lazy Sunday at Dexter. Can't wait to go back! Apparently the meat donuts are in high demand

With an emphasis of combining flavours of numerous asian produce, Burger Blocks reigns on their unique burgers with a touch of international flavours. The store is fitted simply with a high nested counter and a small number of chairs. On top of its relaxed and cozy atmosphere, from the moment you walk in, you are greeted with friendly service from the family owned cafe. Recommended from Brenda was the Black Jack & Red Lantern. The Black Jack is a Hong Kong and Japanese fusion burger, a delicious and flavoursome burger which consisted of American cheese, bacon, grilled mushroom, spanish onion, lettuce, tomato, black pepper sauce and japanese mayo. What really stood out to me here was the black pepper sauce, the sauce was pungent and empowered the flavour of the burger as a whole. The Red Lantern is a Japanese and Thai fusion burger which consisted of american cheese, bacon, spanish onions, lettuce, tomato and wasabi mayo. Once again, the burger was tender and juicy and the ingredients worked well with each other. You can't really go wrong with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately I was disappointed about the spice factor, considering it was labelled 2 out of 3 spice level, I was expecting more of a punch, which the burger did not have at all. we also ordered the Loaded fries which consisted of aioli furikake which was roasted seaweed seasoning and aioli on top of a bowl of beer battered fries. A hearty accompaniment with our burgers and the flavours harmonized well If you feel like indulging, grab an Iced Chocolate or an Iced Matcha, as both of these drinks were sweet and delicious. I would like to thank Brenda once again for inviting us to sample their specialties and will definitely be dining there again if i'm ever in the area. 7.7 / 10

That was back in June and I've only just had the chance to check it out. Not being a fan of eggs or avocado (blasphemy in Melbourne, I know!), I rarely venture out for brunch but with an interstate visitor in town, it was time to test out this awesome sounding cafe down the road! We were lucky enough to arrive when there were a lot of free tables (NOT the case by the time we left!) and chose to sit at one of the booths. After drooling over the menu and specials offering I was left with two options and sought assistance from our waitress. Here I encountered the honesty you don't expect from an employee - she informed me that one of the options I was choosing between was actually quite a large serving and therefore if I wanted to share with my dining companion, that would be enough to satisfy the two of us. However, my friend had her heart set on her own different menu choice so I thanked the waitress for her advice and went with my other choice which was a delicious bagel. As it was, I couldn't even finish half of it and ended up taking the second half home for a late lunch / afternoon snack (and it was still so tasty the second time around). I loved the staff, I loved the food and I loved the coffee. I'll definitely be back!

It's a fish & chips place, but they also served burgers, steak sandwiches, etc. I'm not much into fish, so I went with burger and an order of chips. Reasonable prices. I think burger, chips, a soda, and ketchup ($1) came out to be $13? Around there. Everything is cooked fresh. Burgers are usually really oily, especially if cooked on a cooktop at a fast food joint. Surprisingly, it wasn't oily at all! It was a very enjoyable burger. A bit on the bland side, but the ketchup (that the cook puts on your burger) helped. I got it with bacon - didn't realize it would be Canadian bacon. Still, it was good! Chips were decent, can definitely tell they were made from potatoes and fresh, too. Very lovely owners, very mom-and-pop place. I'll definitely be back!

The gentleman at the counter told me it would be at least 30 minutes till my burger came out. Seeing the row of dockets on the wall I said no problems. Thanks for letting me know and left. Today I tried again. The row of dockets less full than yesterday. Awesome and to be expected as its Sunday. Happily ordered a 3072 and a fries which I had asked the lady if they would be able to do a half serve in Ghost Chili Salt and the other with Parmesan salt. She said she will let them know. 35 minutes later despite having 3 people in the store and after about 20 orders have gone via uber eats and next door to Racoon Club. I have a burger and fries and I'll get to that but first let me talk about how a eat in establishment should present themselves: 1. Be warm and welcoming. 2. That's pretty much it. I can only assume Chew is trying to save money on refrigeration because they keep the door open in winter. The customers that are sitting eagerly awaiting their food were wearing their jackets and beanies. INSIDE. It was freezing. I have no idea why any eat in establishment should be designed to be that cold but it is hugely inappropriate. Now for the food. Before I ever got my food beyond feeling hypothermic I was interested to see the familiar brands of Birds Eye and Kailis Bros fine frozen products (shoestring fries and tempura onion rings) but that's less relevant. The burger was completely adequate. The bun was cool because they keep toasting bread even though that's a relatively quick part of the burger process so there is always toasted bread ready for when all the other elements are ready. Toasted but not warm. The veggies and sauce were all lovely. Burger was somewhat pink. Can't complain too much there. Overall the burger was 3/5 My fries the chef had nicely coated in Ghost Chili salt. All of them. When someone recounted my order with half ghost chili, and half Parmesan salt he kindly dusted some Parmesan over the top of it and sent it my way...not impressed. Now beyond that the food at Chew is PERFECTLY seasoned. So much so that salt and pepper are not necessary items on the tables for the dine in customers. When approaching the counter to ask for some salt the massive salt was brought to give my fries a healthy shake before it returned home on the chef's line. Conclusions: I think that Chew Burger might be an adequate burger but this experience was atrocious. From the indoor temperature, to the time (and associated lack of disclosure), to the fries and not owning the order and just trying to settle for mediocrity. I think as a food option for Raccoon club it is great (but that's mostly due to Raccoon club being great about allowing outside food into their establishment). However as an eatery standing on its own two feet it failed spectacularly. If I was to go to Chew again I would only do it in the context of going to Raccoon club or as an Uber eats option.

Walking in, I totally dig the ambiance - fun and youthful thanks to their giant burger mural and comfortable booth seating. As for the food... this is probably one of the most impressive burger I've had in a while. 'Moo'yalicious: Served with a charcoal bun (love that they have 5 types of buns to choose from!) and consists of a good-sized 150 gram wagyu beef patty, bacon, gourmet swiss cheese, sautéed mushrooms, jalapeños and dressed generously with Kewpie mayo and BBQ sauce. The beef patty itself was well cooked, moist and medium juicy with delicious seasonings while the bun was soft and fluffy. Combination between beef patty and bun itself already tasty, it became even better by adding melting cheese, and grilled bacon. It slowly melts in my mouth. I also ordered their signature Candid Rainbow freak shake, it is a classic blend of vanilla, with stacks of donuts, Belgian waffles, ice creams and candies. First of all, the presentation got me super excited, it was insanely gorgeous, but the sweet toppings were a bit stale. Texture wise, however, was quite thick and fulfilling, and taste quite delicious without being overly sweet. The pricing is a little on the high side, with my burger+ shake cost about $40. But Burger Road is certainly a bar higher than ordinary! Both food and playful interior topped with great hospitality is something I'd look forward to again :).

However, with the new menu, there has been a clear push to claim the hipster market, with confused items. The breakfast menu includes a quinoa muesli-type concoction with kale and hazelnuts, and their take on Eggs Benedict comes with pulled pork and grilled haloumi. The pork is the odd one out in this dish, with the sweet and briney flavours conflicting with the classic hollandaise and poached egg. The haloumi, although prepared to perfection, overpowered the meal with salt. The desserts also look impressive, and have been updated along with the décor. The lemon tart comes with an unconventional chocolate curl on the top, and the cheesecake, flourless orange, and tiramisu all look incredible. I opted for what was described to me as a raspberry sponge, but it had more mousse than sponge, and very little raspberry flavour. The middle layer of sponge has an infusion of redness with little flavour, and an awkward density as a result. I would like to see a refinement of the menu, with more focus on complimentary flavours. The staff is lovely and the coffee is great as it has always been.
