A nice chill place that has a build your own gin and tonic menu for the G & T drinkers…read more We went on a Sunday evening around 7 when they offer a Sunday roast menu, however, they didn't have any of the roast items that night. So I had the beef pie instead. The beef pie was good with the side of mashed potatoes, but like a few girls I know would say, I've had better. Overall, a good place, especially for the location and I, will try it again. hopefully on my second visit, I will be able to get the Sunday roast, and hopefully, it will be worth another star in my review.

Now god and London underground know I try to avoid Tottenham if possible, but I cannot fail to make…read morea pitstop to the Ferry Boat whenever I find myself near there. First of all, it's actually off a main road on the very edge of Tottenham and not far from the resevoirs and lakes nearby. Okay it boils down to this: the food here is damn good! close your eyes for a sec - now think of all typical British pub food and think of them done very, very well. If you like some of what's in that imagination, then go to the Ferry Boat. The steak is particularly good and their desserts will surprise you a lot! The strawberry cheesecake there beats the undies off most fancy cake shops in the city. The atmosphere is good, no rowdy or shady characters here (apart from me of course~!) should make for a decent meal out with friends; a nice and spacious beer garden is also pretty good if the weather is nice (yep, all 4 good days of the year!) The only downer is the fact that the furniture is a bit off compared to the otherwise exceptionally nice interior (with woodfire and country house feel). The chairs are at times rickety, and some pretty mismatched and gawdy. It says 3 stars on top but I'd give it 3.5. I wouldn't cross the city to dine here, but if you want a safe choice and are nearby then check it out. Ash

It was very crowded as this is also a night life spot. Down stairs you have tables to lounge chit chat and eat. You have to go to the bar area to order drinks and food. The menu is very minimal not many options think in n out outside Cali. I ordered a double cheeseburger without bacon grilled onions and chipotle mayo and truffle fries . The patties very large juicy and greasy as one could imagine. However, just good no over barring flavor definitely greasy. The fries were delightful just the right amount of parm and truffle. After eating I decided to make the most of my entry and go upstairs to dance. Please note the restroom area is very small I believe three stalls but enclosure is crampeD. Upstairs was vibey, Dj played a mixture of American tunes , 90s rap and UK beats. I would recommend this place for a burger and/or nightlife

I do think this is one of the best burgers I've had in London…read more Lucky Chip burgers are served at the Old Queen's Head pub on Essex Road. The menu is fun, the burgers arrive quickly. Aged beef patty with pickle, ketchup and mustard. Had the cheeseburger with proper melty American cheese which really is the best for burgers. Good bun too that holds together. The burgers are cooked medium and I mean a proper pink medium, not just browned on the edges verging on raw in the middle which some other places are doing. The taste and overall experience is right up there and everything is just right, especially the beef patty itself which was perfection. Decent fries too. Coleslaw was good enough but not the highlight here. Been there twice. Consistently good each time and with reasonable prices and great service it adds up to a top rating from me.

I feel a little harsh by giving this a 2 star, but I think it's worthy for the food we got today…read more We ordered a couple of starters to share, the prawns and halloumi which the cheeses could of been grilled a little more so that it's more crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. Next up I choose the cheeseburger and my friend had the T bone steak.. I must say I was jealous of their meal as my burger was a tad over cook and the fries wasnt as crispy as I expected. The coleslaw was good, but it was an good portion that I just couldn't finish. However the dessert display look really appetising and I went for the chocolate fondant and the apple tart. I must say give me dessert any day! The decor of the place is lovely and the vibes are very East London hipster style, but I don't think I will be rushing back in a hurry..

We ordered the calamari, when it came it looked amazing but tasted on point and delish. I've had calamari in different restaurants I would say this is one of my top places to get it. Anyways, we ordered the Grilled salmon, the Seabass fillet and Cordon Bleu breaded chicken. Dessert was a chocolate fondant with vanilla icecream. Everything was scrumptious. I would say friendly service, big portions (wasn't expecting it), lovely surroundings. Hygiene wise, clean.

The Magnetic Zeros had it right with the lyrics:-…read more Home, let me come home Home is wherever I'm with you Home, let me come home Home is wherever I'm with you La la la la Take me home Mama, I'm coming home Indeed nowadays home is a small corner of London that is Highbury/Holloway, an area that I'm convinced is going through a real revolution. From cute little sushi places to places that specialise in sous-vide chicken (Chicks on Fire FTW!) to arts and crafts to couture latex there are huge changes. Homeburger is the latest of these. This is their seminal outlet and my have they done well. The shop itself has the level of detail that one would expect from a Soho hipster permanent popup with custom wallpaper, great decor and wonderfully cute custom boxes. Remember this is a takeaway or delivery place only; you really do have to be home to eat. The food, if the soft opening is anything to go by, has a very bright future. Before we even get to the burgers lets start with the sides. The mac n cheese was heart cloggingly wonderful with plenty of hot sticky cheese that lasted a couple of days (Indeed I'm just finishing it off now). The chocolate peanut butter pie had peanut butter mousse, chocolate mousse, cornflakes & a golden syrup crust. Yes it was as good at it sounds, we were just lucky that it is best served cold so we could have it later. This seriously good treat must be tried. The triple cooked slightly burnt (in a good way) unpeeled chips were great if just a little too salted. A nice touch was the included ketchup and BBQ sauce (though this was a little too sweet for me). Now for the burgers. These were EPIC. They blew the local Five Guys and Byron out of the water and, dare I say it, better than Honest Burger while being at least on a par with Patty and Bun. They all have big thick medium rare patties in a toasted brioche bun and the special 'homesauce'. We went for the 'Cheese Homeburger' which had cheddar & American cheese with fried onion relish, and the BBQ Beach Hut which was topped off with slow cooked BBQ beef brisket, coleslaw and pickled red onions. The prices were competitive with Byron at £8 to £12 for a burger but without the choice of eating it there. Luckily the quality makes it worth it and really does make home something to look forward to. As you can see I'm a very spoilt local fan.

Despite the fairly high-level branding and style, it is a take-away and delivery place only and their strong packaging definitely reflects that. As you can see in the pics, the burgers are boxed incredibly well in vented, complicated, but elegantly put together heavy cardboard. Now the burger itself has a smoky flavour which immediately made me realise why my omnivorous friend liked it. The bread was soft and the burger texture was great with mushrooms and lentils/quinoa. I thought the portion was huge and it kept me going for 2 meals which is about right I think, for a £8 take-away price. All in all, you can see the care that has gone into this place and I thoroughly recommend it!
