The food is fantastic but the staff can be really annoying sometimes they ordered me and my son to take out when we hadn't done anything.

Just finished my meal three hours a go…read more I found out about this place a couple of weeks a go. With the rest of the family off to a work related Christmas do, I found myself alone with numerous option for tea. Since I wasn't feeling it for the local chippy any more, I settled my craving for chicken. I did not let the threat of slipping on the icy pavements and cracking my head open deter me from my goal, with it being a rather short distance from my home. Stepping inside, I was immediately greeted by the cashier. She was polite, patiently talking me through what sauce and seasoning for the fries I would like. I decided on the six chicken tenders combo meal, which comes with fries and a can. I went for their original peri peri sauce for my tenders and peri salt for the fries, also opting for a regular side of onion rings for the hell of it. My wait time wasn't that long, probably five or seven minutes, I wasn't paying much attention. I bring my food straight home and unpack to get a good look. A rather good potion of fries along with the tenders: four good sized strips of chicken in a crispy coating, other two were tiny. Not that I minded because it was still a big amount of meat for me. Everything tasted amazing. The only thing I wasn't enjoying too well was the onion rings. They were cheap ones, but to be honest, it's been a while since I was last impressed by onion rings so i'll let that slide. The bill, was a tiny bit on the pricey side. But compared to KFC, it does seem to be more value for money. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed what I got and will most likely visit this place again.

Living in Portland I thought let's see how the guys in Manchester do a proper sandwich…read more So looking around on Yelp I noticed this place and I have walked by from the hotel a couple of times without noticing there are some restaurants. The old railway building. Thanks yelp for making me aware. They have a lunch special with a selection of burgers and a chicken sandwich for £10 (at the time of this review 07/2023). That includes a side of fries. I noticed every restaurant that you walk In the host will ask you about any allergies or intolerances. If you let them know you're they will let you know what to avoid. Or if they do not know they will send you a manager who knows. There must have been a huge problem with allergies and it is a great way to avoid it. It is, in the beginning, a bit annoying until you realize it is actually a good thing (I wonder if Mcdonald's to the same - I'll might have to try that). So I ordered the chicken burger with a breaded fried chicken breast some black pepper mayo sauce some salad, Onions, and a slap of avocado. WOW - the nicely tasting breaded chicken was fried to perfection and it was a really big piece without drying out. Good job! the "burner" was definitely the combination of chicken and that avocado spread mixed in With the black Peppercorn mayonnaise - an almost perfect bite. The bun was not too big to get in the way of tasting what's important all other ingredients have been fresh and am tasty the fries also fried to a crisp state without being burned. Hands down a surprisingly great burger. Oh, I will be back - the service was five starts as well quick, knowledgeable, and friendly!
This was a impromptu visit. Initially we thought we were headed out to Jacks Smoke house, but when…read moreour friends pulled up here we realised we got our wires crossed. Inside was very busy, with a small number of tables, sitting down at the menu I found it a little limited. It entails a couple of hot dogs, a few chicken/meat burgers served with waffles, patties, various fries and a handful of starters. The only fish I spotted was bubba gump shrimp with chorizo. If you were a veggie they had just the one veggie burger option. First off I ordered a caramel milkshake , my friend had the nutella one while others had beer.. Both shakes looked impressive with tons of cream , garnished with tasties..however all the syrup had ran down mine and had just a one dimensional taste to it ....I didn't feel it was worth a sticky mitt. For starters fiery hot wings, pulled pork spring rolls and Shrimp were ordered.. My wings were meaty but just tasted like someone had literally poured a generic hot sauce over them..the spring rolls,,, I did try some and could not help but think the cheese burger spring rolls in Solita were much nicer. ..The shrimp was tasty but there was not a lot of it to justify the cost. Starters and drinks gone I opted for a Death Row cocktail at an average priced £7.50.. This had a cool presentation again with a syringe full of red stuff that you injected into the drink...This tasted like weak lemonade with cherry laced through. I felt stuck what to order for my main, Everyone else opted for Chicken waffle stack with maple syrup and peanut butter?? Mac and cheese burger and a Yard burger full of various meats as well as a pattie, full of onion rings..I decided on the buttermilk chicken... Once again presentation was good however my burger got soggy quickly and I found it uninspiring. Everyone else appeared to enjoy their food...the peppercorn fries were the highlight.. Overall the market is crammed with diners like this i.e American style burgers so for me it has to be innovative and really tasty to stand out. The only thing I remember about the décor were the stairs leading upward to the toilet being old , crooked and needing replacing The service was good however I just found the food to be a let down for the cost. I personally rather try Jacks Smoke House next time. .

Smoke yard…read morehas been open since last year, bringing smoked meats, burgers, ribs and fries to Oldham, as well as milkshakes and deserts. It is pretty much another 'dirty burger' restaurant, which seem to be doing really well at the moment. The menu has lots of different burgers from Mac and cheese variations, to buttermilk chicken and veggie options. Lots of pulled pork and bacon toppings too. I went for the Honey Bun- a grilled chicken burger with honey mustard and salad and applewood smoked cheese. I of course upgraded the fries to sweet potato fries too. The fries let the order down a little- very thin and not much actual potato in them. Still tasty, but Iv had better I guess! The burgers however are the selling point- the men who were with us said the beef pattys were really good quality meats, juicy and thick. I genuinely loved my grilled chicken burger; and the honey mustard sauce was incredible. So much good choice on the menu. One of our friends went for the ribs, which again looked amazing. Really wanted to have a dirty milkshake with all the toppings, waffles, biscuits, the lot. Managed to hold off though! Affordable prices and a nice change to see a modern burger place in Oldham

It's a pretty unassuming location, on a busy main road and nearly opposite a big supermarket but as soon as you step inside the Northern Crafthouse you could be in any part of the Northern Quarter. It's got that reclaimed/vintage vibe going with lots of exposed brickwork and wood - and some rather fabulous chairs which looked like old school chairs recovered in leather. The menu isn't going to win any healthy eating awards - burgers, tacos, hot dogs and burritos make up the majority. There's also a brunch menu which is served at the start of the day. Sparky went for the BBQ beef burger, I opted for the cajun chicken burger. Each came on an enamel plate with a gingham piece of grease proof paper - again, very on-trend for the NQ! We really enjoyed our food, although my burger was a little bit on the salty side. We also polished off a bowl of fries. The crowd was fairly mixed, ranging from 20 somethings out to cure a hangover through to families with children. There was a really nice vibe to the place and it makes a really welcome addition to this part of north Manchester, showing that Prestwich isn't the only place with cool hangouts!

I called in here to grab some breakfast, I ordered a double sausage and egg McMuffin without the bread to make it gluten-free, alongside a hash brown and Tropicana. This came to £3.99 which is probably the cheapest breakfast in the area Considering McDonald's is known for fast, impersonal service, I was surprised here, the staff member on the door greeting customers seemed really friendly and helpful, the ordering system was pretty easy, including making modifications such as removing bread. It was clean inside, maybe it's because my visit was very early in the morning and I was the only guest in, but still, it was nice to see a Mcdonald's which was actually clean. There seems to be some construction or barriers outside the store, access into the store is a little awkward but it isn't that bad. 3* - A-OK, still pretty impressive for a McDonald's. Limited menu options right now during the regular menu which has sadly removed grilled chicken mean a lack of options after Breakfast if you require gluten-free (like I do), I hate getting a cheeseburger without the bun!

This is one of two Subway locations in Leigh town centre, it is by far the smaller and poorer of…read morethe two locations. It is owned/run by SKS Ventures Ltd. Unlike the other branch on Parsonage Way, this store follows the old Subway layout, the one benefit this store has over the other is it is slightly closer to the town centre including the bus station and shops, being located near Boots on Bradshawgate. When I entered the store, I was told to wait with no explanation and I had to wait a couple of minutes to even be served, this made no sense as there were two staff members working, there was a man in a black shirt who I'm sure was a manager/supervisor but he seemed to make mistakes you'd associate with a trainee, not only making me wait (no one else was in the shop at the time) to the point I considered leaving but he also - Despite telling him my order more than once, confirming it, he didn't seem to listen, I must have asked him to add tuna 3 or 4 times before he finally realised it, due to the combination of tuna, ham and cheese. - He put my bread down on the counter with no sheet, this could have caused cross-contamination issues and just been unpleasant - He messed up the first set of bread, by ripping it, he went into the back to replace it, again with no explanation... (due to the gluten free bread being frozen it is hard to break apart sometimes) The store also wasn't clean, it just seemed dirty, with food around the edge of the containers, and the floor was a mess, which considering how quiet it was and the fact due to UK government legislation, people aren't dining in, making little sense. When I did get my sub, it was fine, it was average, I've had better and I've had worse, it was the typical price I'd pay of £4.89 so that wasn't too bad. 2* - Poor Subway Store in terms of service and cleanliness, I probably would use the other branch in Leigh in the future, which is also open later, that store closes at 9 pm while this location on Bradshawgate closes rather early, at 5 pm.

The restaurant is over two floors, with both an elevator and stairs to get you up and down. It's pretty much a typical McDonald's and offers what you'd expect, the food isn't going to win any prizes but is a reasonable quality compared to what you'd expect from a McDonald's. The staff are generally friendly here, which is good to see, as many other McDonald's branches offer rushed and impersonal service, they also offer table service here meaning you can order at the kiosk (or using your phone) and the food will be brought to your table, they seem to get the food to your table rather quickly too, which given the size of the place is impressive. PRO TIP: Do make sure they bring your whole order, as it is easy for them to forget items sometimes. On my most recent visit, I ordered a Quarter Pounder with cheese, alongside medium fries, as I'm gluten-free, I ordered my food without a bun, I appreciate how they use the old packaging, as I find serving the bun-less burgers in a cardboard salad box, which is becoming more and more common now is a nightmare. 4* - A well-located McDonald's offering what you'd expect, and nothing more other than friendly staff.
