26 minutes to get food. Ordered at the kiosk at 10:57am according to the receipt, went up to the counter at 11:10am, food finally came out at 11:23am. They were speaking Spanish and trying to say that I already ate the food. Not good. Could have actually went to a real restaurant and got food faster. read more

This is being rated from the quality spectrum of McDonalds, not as a restaurant in general. The food is certainly McDonalds. Hot fries- usually decently salted, and burgers that are typically stacked well enough that you know it's a burger and not a box of bread and meat salad. Had a chicken sandwich that was ambiguously fishy once, but I'll chalk that up to bad luck. It has certainly happened more often at other McDonalds. It's renovated interior is nice, and the new pickup system makes enough sense. They also have a kiosk for ordering, so you can bypass the angsty teens working the register if you want. And yes, this is one of the thousands of McDonalds that built a fireplace in the seating area, only to never have it on. Drive-through speed is reliably unremarkable. But the customer service is where it gets interesting. I can sum it up like this: 1 PM, ordering is easy and the service is fine. 1 AM, you'll essentially have to have a passive aggressive gladiator match with one or two disgruntled employees. So this McDonalds gets 4 out of 5 stars. It's not bad, especially compared to others in the area. But on the global McDonalds scale, it's not exactly a model system they've got going on either. Are you into, bad fries that taste like old grease and cursing, including flagrant use of the racist language used by ignorant employees? Then this place is for you! Heres what I left on the corporate site: "Employees were cussing and using the offensive and racist N word. One gentlemen apologized when I asked them to stop. Two females however did not, the girl with the headset kept being offensive. Saying thing like he. Cant tell me..wait till he leaves..looking away from me and still talking trash! She kept using offensive language that made my experience horrible. I have video-audio available. She was so rude other employees shook their head in disbelief. I've been to your resteraunt hundreds of times around the world, this has been by far the worse experienced I have had in your chain. I have been visiting this location for 22 years passing by to work at Yale U. For the last 90 days I've been receiving mushy and limp has browns and fries. I've asked now 4 times in a row that they make them well done and they are still nearly raw inside. They insist that's how they are suppised to be, but watched the mansger or assistant shake the fryolatir basket in an effort to cook them faster, even though the law of physics prevents this to happen if the time and temp aren't correct. If we cant get a McDonalds product to be consistent and taste the way they should, then why should weeven go there to eat? I truly have better things to spend my hard earned money on, and its expensive to begin with. Nobody in their right mind would like to settle for paying top dollar for their famous fries or hash browns that taste better elsewhere. If this is a Trefz owned McDonald's, they need to step up their game and quality control to fix this problem. In my opinion, the products are rushed and they aren't being monitored for the quality controls McDonalds pays millions to do, as well Trefz Corp certainly has to complete or is supposed to complete before allowing this kind of action to take place. McDonald's fries and hash browns are supposed to be crisp and strained properly so they don't become mushy when eating after they cool. It seems as if somebody there doesn't like the crisp they are supposed to have because the problem resides not only with fries and hasbrowns, their english muffins are also not toasted as they should be. I feel their toaster's conveyor is either running it's too fast , or the temp is too low. I feel this is done in an effort to speed production up, making the end product sub standard. This store doesnt care if the customer receives the hash browns as they should be even if one asks for them well done they only care about selling as many as they could as quickly as possible, and the difference in time would be maybe 30 seconds for the correct result. Im not sure if their fryers arent up to temp but somebody needs to take csre of this otherwise my review is going to remain a 2 star review filled with truth that may end up alterung their business. I worked for Trefz Corp years ago and know exactly how these products are supposed to taste.... they arent even close to what they should be so they need to act quickly to stop whats happening not only in New Haven but also at the Campbell Ave., West Haven store, which in my opinion is even worse due to the choices made by the manager. In West Haven, the Manager is an Oriental woman who I have literally watched her cut the fries short of their frying time shaking the basket in an effort to reduce serve time at the drive thru window. My fries were raw in the middle and I returned them immediately, giving her a mouthful for wasting an additional 15 minutes of my time. Her choices cost McDonalds their profits by tossing my fries and 6 other's because she rushed frying them to award her for serve times that the restaurant monitors closely, probably paying bonuses for those with fastest time averages for their turn around. Some sacrifice loss to look good for serve times, but if it isnt out of their pocket, who cares, right? If it were my business, I'd fire them on the spot. Driving home from New Haven, I had a long drive ahead of me and was only partly through a stretch of road I now suspect to be the fourth or fifth circle of Hell (how many traffic lights did I have to sit at, you ask? Enough to research Dante's circles of Hell and find the best fits!). But I do not hold the sickening over-abundance of traffic lights to the fault of McDonald's, I'm merely starting my story with the point - I was hungry and who knew when the opportunity to eat would present itself again. So I went through the drive-thru. Very quick, the order screens were working so I could see they got my special order right, and my food was prepared perfectly to my liking. I imagine having to turn left out of there in the morning is an absolute nightmare, but at 9 pm on Friday night it went pretty smoothly. I just wish (and this is a plea to McDonald's in general) they put an option not to be given a straw. I asked not to have one, I repeated it because it causes so much confusion, and in my bag was one plastic straw. *Le sigh* read more

I go to this McDonald's every Saturday and Sunday morning on my way to work. I am always greeted by a friendly, polite, efficient young lady who takes the time to ask me how I'm doing. She never fails to put a smile on my face. The young people at the pick-up window, sometimes a young man, sometimes a young woman are so polite and upbeat. I always leave this McD's in a better mood than when I pulled in. Congratulations on your excellent service McDonald's! Your workers are awesome!! read more

I have been a regular customer at this location for a while, and while it's priced marginally higher than the surrounding McDonald's it is the closest one so I understand paying for convenience. But the management and customer service at this location is consistently very poor. Today was the third time in the last two months I have placed an order with the mobile app, been charged, and they then say they cannot find my mobile order and that I messed something up. I am a regular McDonald's customer and very familiar with the app, and I only have this issue at this location. I expressed that this has happened multiple times to the manager and she said it's not her problem that I don't know how to use the app. As I pulled out of the drive through today the manager yelled and told me I was rude along with some other remarks I couldn't hear. A consistently bad experience here especially in the morning and mid afternoon. read more

I placed a mobile order and the app said "It doesn't look like you're here yet" and to show an employee a code displayed at the bottom. I tried to show the first lady the code, but she wouldn't take it and just kept saying my order didn't go through even though I paid. I asked if a different employee could help me and the new employee asked for the code. I read it to her and she said it was too long. I said that this was the code the app was giving me. After some more back and forth, turns out the code I read to her was right. If you work at McDonald's, you should know how the app works. The app was literally telling me to present this code to an employee and for some reason this became a 10 minute ordeal. I wouldn't even be so annoyed if these employees had a better attitude, but they acted like I was the biggest burden in the world and kept giving me the stink eye. No "sorry" or "thank you" or "have a nice day." Instead, every employee looked absolutely miserable. I would not recommended coming to this McDonald's. read more

Morning staff are EXTREMELY slow and rude. Cleanliness is non existent. Vomit found on mens room counters and dining room looks like a fraternity house on Sunday morning. Employees need to put down the cell phones and pick up the cleaning supplies. read more
