Located just outside the walls of Piazza de Duomo where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located, this McD is super busy and charges tourist trap prices. We just wanted a quick snack and something cold as they are having a heat wave here. The food tastes consistent with other McD, but the portion sizes of some items are chintzy such as the McFlurry which was less than 1/2 the container. The interesting items they have here is they offer desserts such as Macaroons. They also offer empanadas amongst other offerings that are not available in the USA. It is super crowded so it can be difficult to find a seat. Ordering is at the kiosks only. The kiosk that I was using had a broken card reader so I had to print out the ticket and tack it to the counter to pay which was a little annoying. Our order did come out quickly. If you order the desserts, you have to go pick it up at the other counter where the display case and coffee machines are. read more

It's fine, it's a tourist mcdonald's and as I'm sure it's wildly busy most of the time, they appear to have a slightly limited menu and basically no counter or "front." Instead it's all machine ordering and pickup at the kitchen side. I don't mind that part at all, it's perfectly fine and honestly I would go this route anyway. I did have issues getting my order correct as I had to point out missing items on the receipt twice. While they easily fixed it for me, I saw them checking the receipt as they prepared my order and it was a little disappointing that they left out so much stuff. I ultimately still got shorted a small fry but at that point could not be bothered to argue about another thing and realistically we already had enough food anyway. Still, it was a big annoyance: I feel like in exchange for the "okay" food and experience of Mcdonald's, the least you should expect is that they can just put your order together pretty accurately. Especially considering the machine ordering and ticket based system they use, it's a big let down to have to triple check your order and argue with them about missing items. I can't imagine how much of a pain it would have been if it hadn't been a quieter day when I was there - 300 tourists jamming up the place would make trying to fix your order a real pain. Food-wise, I feel the same about most global mcdonald's - it's fine but as the price continues to creep up it's no longer worth it and at this point it's very much no longer worth it. We continue to very occasionally visit simply because of children and often the lack of other fast food options (as in this case at Pisa). Given the cost of a meal for 5 was roughly the same as having gone any real restaurant, even at tourist prices, it's hard to justify except in these kinds of situations. read more

I was on a tour to see the leaning tour of PISA and I see this Mc Donalds right outside of the courtyard LOL Tour guide said we can use the bathrooms here I did not order anything but I was curious to see what this Mc Donalds had to offer . Employees speak english, there are Kiosks to order and the menu is also in english prices seemed reasonable and there is outdoor seating available read more

This was a random decision to see what kind of differences there were at the Italian McDs! This one was right outside of the wall to the Cathedral in Pisa, so we stopped in for a bite. The Arch burger is equivalent to a Big Mac, but it was way bigger and better! And why doesn't the US have bacon cheese fries? Delicious! Ordering was fast at the kiosk, and we got our food in less than 5 mins even though it was so busy. We sat at nice outdoor seating, but it was nice inside too. Conveniently located near the Leaning tower of Pisa. This McDonalds is also one of the busiest since it is familiar with the tourists and the price of the food is really reasonable considering the touristy area. There are plenty of kiosks to facilitate the high tourist traffic. The staff here are really fast and some can speak English. And they keep this restaurant pretty clean. My only issue is that the restrooms are heavily used and unless you buy something, will require you to pay 5 euros to use. Unfortunately, this is one of the smaller restrooms I have ever seen in Europe. So be prepared for long lines and crowding. But the convenience outweighs any issues. read more

The food was normal. It was exactly what'll you expect. The location is fairly clean and the bathroom was not free unlike other McDonald locations. You'll have to pay .50 Euro, which isn't so bad considering public bathrooms are 1 Euro per person. Come here for a quick bite if you're in the area and craving some McDonald's. read more

After too much pizza, pasta, and other Italian food, the McDonalds in Pisa was a welcome site. I should have kept walking. The menu had a decent amount of things to get me curious. Various burgers we don't have in the US, spicy cheese fries, coconut shakes, it seemed like a good idea. You can order and pay for your food all from a digital kiosk just like in the US. After waiting for our number a bit, the food was ready. I picked the to go option, but they didn't get have it boxed up. They quickly boxed it up when I asked and I was good to go with my giant bags of McDonalds. The spicy burger was pretty dry, the cheese fries were cold and sad, and the coconut shake was actually okay. Overall though the meal was pretty disappointing. It reminded me of the late 90s/early 2000s US McDonalds...back when they were all pretty bad. Lately the US McDonalds have really stepped up with what seems to be better food and a better experience. That hasn't reached the Italian McDonalds yet. read more

I usually don't write reviews for McDonald's, especially in Italy, but this is a bit different. I'm not going to compare it to other McDonald's or burger joints, and definitely not other Italian places. The location is unbeatable. In Pisa, you don't have bathroom places available. It's hot and you need air conditioning. You don't much time to waste. And the food is solid with reasonable pricing. Given these circumstances, this place is a great choice to dine when you have a big group with limited time in Pisa. For #Thinsulin fans, you can order lecture wraps or remove the buns. It may be hard to say no to their fries. read more

Whoever wrote a 4-star review of this place obviously did not have the same people serving them at the counter. You cannot order at the front. The workers there do not have customer service skills and will respond to you with a grumpy frown. Please order at the kiosk and not through the workers. There is a woman who seems to hate working there with brown hair and a large frown on her face. I asked if there was something available there that wasn't listed on their "written" menu. While a male server responded with somewhat of an answer, the frowny lady (who acted very privileged but may have needed a big Mac or two to look healthy) was very rude by imitating me, not thinking I saw or heard, after I had asked the question. Honestly, this place is your last go to. Everyone who works here seem like miserable you-know-whats. Get what you need at the kiosk and don't ask for anything more after a long day of sightseeing. Terrible service and the bathroom charge is a complete scam. Charge you .50 for use or you can show a receipt. However, you need separate purchases for two people. One receipt PER PERSON! We had a receipt for one euro so we should've had two bathroom uses. Bathroom was crap. No TP or soap. It was disgusting. Maybe pay the two sloths sitting outside scamming people for money to CLEAN AND STOCK. Save your time and money. Go buy something at a REAL Italian place. read more

Mcdonald's Piazza Dei Miracoli ( Pisa, Italy ) I visited this eatery with my family on the 21st August 2012. My wife forgot her purse on our table which was outside the building. She did not discover until we got to our hotel later in the evening. We reported the loss at the police station. The next day (22nd August 2012), we decided to re-trace our steps. When we asked at the Mcdonalds counter, the manager (A young lady was called) and after conversing in our limited Italian, she smiled and went inside to get the purse! My wife was ecstatic. We were so grateful. She told us one of the staff went out to clear out table then found the black purse. Welldone !
