I wish I knew the secret to how they cut them. They are perfect: not too thin, not too thick, and seasoned to perfection. I also got the red velvet cupcake because I was excited to see it on the menu. Moist and just ok. If I lived here, I would definitely be a regular for the burgers and fries though! They don't speak English, but was very helpful and understanding of my one word Italian prompts. It was pathetic and embarrassing, but they understand my hand gestures. The restaurant opened at 7:30 pm for dinner, we were the first costumers to get in, we were greeted right away, got our drink orders and served immediately. The burgers are their specialty in this restaurant, the beef came from local farms, and claimed to be grass-fed. They also have vegan options. Since my Italian is very limited, I ordered what I think is something different from what we get in a US hamburger places. My burger arrived smelling delicious, medium rare- just the way I like it, with fresh swish and provolone cheeses, topped with their specialty sauce, arugula, more green leaves I cannot identify, and sautéed red bell peppers. It was heavenly! Our server, checked on us frequently to check if we need anything, and always tap off our water glass, and asked if we need more to drink. As we were leaving, the place seemed very busy considering it's a week night. I highly recommend this place when you are in this side of the world.

Only ordering at the kiosks seems like a good idea, except that one was not working and kiosks only accept physical cards. You can't tap. But having multiple languages for ordering (English was one) was a good idea. No language barrier. Without a card and no tap and after we placed our order. we had to go pay cash at one cashier station. This wasn't a problem except that there was a long line to this one person accepting cash payments. After paying, we had to go to another place to get our order. All of this did not seem very efficient. The employees were trying to do the best they can, but they were not overly friendly. Iced Matcha was good excepted 3/4 of the cup was filled with ice. Part of that was my idea because when I saw my drink, it was not filled to the top. So I asked for more ice. It was only after I was finished that I realized it was almost ALL ice. The receipt gets you free use of the restrooms. In the men's room they had no soap and no towels - only air blowers. Husband got right in. My line was so long I gave up so we could make our entry time at the Tower. I have no idea if the situation was better for the ladies.

Instead it's all machine ordering and pickup at the kitchen side. I don't mind that part at all, it's perfectly fine and honestly I would go this route anyway. I did have issues getting my order correct as I had to point out missing items on the receipt twice. While they easily fixed it for me, I saw them checking the receipt as they prepared my order and it was a little disappointing that they left out so much stuff. I ultimately still got shorted a small fry but at that point could not be bothered to argue about another thing and realistically we already had enough food anyway. Still, it was a big annoyance: I feel like in exchange for the "okay" food and experience of Mcdonald's, the least you should expect is that they can just put your order together pretty accurately. Especially considering the machine ordering and ticket based system they use, it's a big let down to have to triple check your order and argue with them about missing items. I can't imagine how much of a pain it would have been if it hadn't been a quieter day when I was there - 300 tourists jamming up the place would make trying to fix your order a real pain. Food-wise, I feel the same about most global mcdonald's - it's fine but as the price continues to creep up it's no longer worth it and at this point it's very much no longer worth it. We continue to very occasionally visit simply because of children and often the lack of other fast food options (as in this case at Pisa). Given the cost of a meal for 5 was roughly the same as having gone any real restaurant, even at tourist prices, it's hard to justify except in these kinds of situations.
