Looks like they tore down and rebuilt this place. New place is noticeably smaller than the old one. There's a new kids' playground (jungle gym). Good thing they did this though, as the old place definitely looked quite dated. There were quite a few sketchy people at this location. People with bags of recyclables came to look in the trash cans, my friend and I were approached by a panhandler, and some really sick looking guy even had a medical emergency requiring paramedics and a defibrillator. Fortunately he was fine. Then there were people wheeling around some rather dirty looking luggage carts. We were definitely a bit sketched out by the entire experience. Knock 2 stars off, which is a real shame as the place would otherwise be nice and shiny. Couldn't find their old historical photos (such as the one commemorating this location being the 1st McDonald's in Canada). Hopefully they put these back up sometime. Maybe I'll try another location next time. Guess this area is the Downtown Eastside of Richmond? read more

Came here for the BTS meal at the end of May 2021 when BC just opened up limited indoor dining again! I got the 10 PC MCNUGGETS and my oh my, maybe because we came at 11am these were the FRESHEST McNuggets I've EVER HAD. I'm also from the US, and I mean it when I say the nuggets in Canada are better (real chicken!!!). Staff service was fine and I really appreciated how there was a lot of parking space at this location. The interior is clean and in light of COVID, the indoor seating was well spaced out and we were never too close to other parties who have decided to dine in :) read more

I came to this McDonald's drive thru service . Kids working there were efficient but forgot my straw and no napkins . Otherwise great !!!!

We ordered from the kiosk. The server called our number and asked us if we wanted the tea bags on the side while the information was clearly indicated on the receipt. That was unnecessary because it was already shown on the receipt. Also, we waited for a long time for just a cup of hot tea and she did not give us the sleeve. In addition, there were no napkins on the condiments counter and we had to ask for them and the tables were dirty. Without a sleeve and napkins, it was dangerous to hold the hot beverage. read more

Dropped by to grab a quick lunch today. It was busy, as expected. Did a mobile order and requested for Table Service via app. The meal with Iced Tea came after some wait. Everything was great until...I went to refill my beverage. I popped open the lid and there it was, a fly and what seems to be a pebble or small piece of rock. Nice. It is a shame that the historical building was demolished. I feel like it could have been refurbished. Even the iconic "Billions and Billions Served" text has been removed from the sign. The new building certainly feels more cramped. Visited this location both by myself and with my friend a few times. It was hard to maneuver around the dining room with the Covid Cordons and I ultimately stepped over the masking tape in an effort to reach the counter. The food is up to the standards you would expect from this franchise. The upgraded drive-thru has extra room for vehicles to exit the queue at any time should they choose to. Lots of parking available, but could use some increased enforcement as misuse of online order pickup stalls and double parking seems common. This is Richmond, after all. read more

Three things: 1) not having the proper ingredients and wouldn't let me change the order - I ordered the seriously chicken southern BBQ combo, with no-salt fries. The sandwich looked quite yummy from the ad and it came with coleslaw inside and, thus, I wanted to try. When I got the sandwich the first time, there were only the chicken and onions inside. Like huh? So I brought it back and they proceeded to make another one. Shortly after, they called my number and said they don't have coleslaw and was shredded lettuce ok?! I wanted to change the order then but they wouldn't let me, claiming they already made the chicken. That was basically why I'd chosen this sandwich in the first place, to get a southern BBQ taste. Why would I want lettuce on bbq sauce?!?! And seriously chicken combo isn't cheap. Also my meal came with medium sized fries and the portion I got was more like a small. I happened to sit next to someone who had medium fries as well and he had the proper portion. They must not have added enough fries to make my no-salt fries. They should have charged me for a small size instead! 2) the restaurant was so dirty and unclean. Remnants of food all over the floor and on tables 3) this kid who was "cleaning" was busy playing and flirting with his friends who were diners by chatting excessively or spraying cleaning detergent directly at them. He was also aimlessly cleaning tables while chatting and there were soap suds on the chairs and he didn't even bother with them. This premise has a lot of young adults employed, which is a good thing ; however, management needs to step up a bit more and ensure that the staff adhere to the McDonald's standard, food and service wise. read more

Needing some signature golden arch's food, in Richmond, not willing to duke it out with your car to that other location on Alderbridge, well this one is for you. I didn't realize this was the first McD's in BC till reading some of these reviews, and it brought me back to thinking about this location and how much it has changed. I remember a long time ago as a little child I came here for birthday parties, and remembered a pretty big child's play area, how those days are no more, and this place has changed with the times. I was quite confused at the shape of the parking lot but once you get in, everything that is McDonald's is here. The last time I was here, found many older people here, it's like a new hangout for them, cheap eats, cheap coffee, and free internet, what could be better, and 24 hours. Compared to all the other locations around this area, this is probably the quietest of them all, not really in any busy hotspots in Richmond. Not much to say.. this is the fast food chain that started it all here in BC is probably the best way to sum it up! read more

Ive lived in the neighbourhood of this McDonald's for about 8 years now, and I've learned it's better to walk or drive to one of the other locations than it is to go to this branch (branch number 1197 on 3 road in Richmond, B.C.) which is literally on my block. The only thing that is consistent with this McDonalds is their inability to fill your order correctly. Whether they forget your straws, your fries, or in some cases the cheese on your cheeseburger, there is always always ALWAYS something wrong or missing. It's kind of astounding that they manage to mess up every single order I place. I filled out their online survey after my latest visit, which is also a joke because It seems that it's entire purpose is to obtain your data. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's had experiences like this, and I will NOT be returning. read more

The Reopening of this McDonald finally happened! Rebuilt from the ground up! Constantly busy! Very modern looking! Understaffed at the time of this review (July 02, 2017) Garbage everywhere and on the ground. No lobby person to clean up therefore garage piling up on tables, counters and even around the drink fountain. If and once maintained, this is a very nice looking McDonald. This location was never this busy before but I guess the rebuild drew a lot more Mcdonalds customer here. One big thing is a heck of a lot more children due to the new indoors kids play area that they build with the restaurant. Food, what more to say.... it's good'ol McDonalds! read more

My wife and I got a take out, a Big Mac with no sauce. The cashier punched in plain Big Mac rather then NO SAUCE. I didn't realise this untill I got home when I found A PLAIN Big Mac as in no sauce, lettuce or pickles just two patties wedged between three buns. I returned to the restaurant ASAP. At McDonalds we presented the manager with the burger and receipt and with no hesitation or questions asked gave me a new burger. The five stars is a result of the customer service provided to correct the original mistake made. read more

I believe that this particular branch is failing everytime my wife and I visit. We like how the concept of fast food...since we've worked with McDonald's before too. We know how everything's supposed to be and how it's done! Since pandemic we can't help but to use drive-thru and after getting our order you kinda trust the "accuracy" and quality of what you bought. But when the time you open your sandwich box you come to question wether is it the right sandwich? My wife and I ordered quarter pounder with cheese meals and the sandwich doesn't look like a quarter pounder just because of how it was done. We also politely requested for extra mayo and catsup packets and the lady who got our order assured us with a "sure" response...we never got it! And the fries were suppose to be hot and crispy and not cold, old and soggy. There's still room for improvement. How would you guys feel when you were in my shoes and you got this kind of experience from the fast food that you love???? read more

9:15 in the morning and they were breaking all the rules had 10 people in line in a small confined area, many customers without masks and no way to social distance. I complained to the cashier she responded that they have a door person who hadn't arrived yet. This is TOTALLY dangerous. They didn't lift a finger. Not a care in the world from staff and it was clear the manager knew what was going on as it's an open concept. Note: I received a call from this location after leaving a complaint with head office. The manager was quite reasonable. It sounds like they are making some changes. I hope they follow through. read more

Sub par as far as McDonalds goes. Frequently under staffed with very long wait times and a couple folks working here that really shouldn't be working service jobs. Food is mostly what you expect from McDonalds but when they get busy quality definitely gets sacrificed without doing much for speed of service. Huge potholes in the parking lot are a perpetual problem. Broken doors are never fixed. This location feels like it's in a ghetto... a ghetto where half the customers drive luxury German cars even though they don't deal drugs. I gave up on this location even though it is basically next door. Go to the Alderbridge location instead, they have their own issues but they deliver a much more consistent McDonalds experience. read more

Worst service ever! I ordered a sandwich with cheese and NO bacon as opposed to the usual two slices they put on it. I told them once at the order speaker at the drive thru, a second time when I paid at the window and a third time to make sure there's no bacon when I picked it up and I'm all honesty I think someone played a sick joke because not only did they put no cheese but they put TEN strips of bacon!! Five times the normal amount. I was in a hurry on my way to the Dr appointment so I had no time to go back and I didn't eat it because I don't want bacon touching my food. I phoned and spoke to the manager who was a female who was on Sept 17/2018 at 9:40am. She said sorry and told me next time I'm around she will give me a new one. I explained I'm rarely there because I live in vancouver and she said sorry and that's it. Worst customer service. They should have asked my address and mailed me a gift card for MINIMUM money back not a stupid replacement only if I'm in the area again. Very pad PR! I won't be returning!! read more

okay so 26/11/2017 I ordered an asiago grilled chicken salad at 11:40 pm It was so damn terrible that I had to write how freaking hilariously terrible it was. firstly, the salad was missing INGREDIENTS!! there was nothing in the salad except for lettuce and even with the lettuce, they added only like 5 bites of it inside only half of the salad bowl was filled?!?! secondly, the grilled chicken tasted like it was just lying there for hours it was HARD!?! like seriously I couldn't even finish a SALAD and I felt terrible passing it on to my sister!!! like I know that McDonald's food is crappy but I never expected them to actually hand me crap are they even training people there???? read more

The only good thing about this Mcdonald's is that it is 24 hours. Even then, at night...expect cold food that was in the warmer for way too long, or nuggets that were cooked twice to prevent being thrown away. The new modern look is NOT worth the insane WAIT!!! The old building was far more efficient. This one has 2-3 fewer registers (replaced with 4 touchpads ordering systems) the new number ticket system. It takes 20 minutes to get ONE cup of coffee because you are put in a queue with everyone else! There is constantly a lineup to pick up your order inside and in the drive thru. The drive thru is horribly designed. All cars are bottle necked at the end and trying to get out of the parking lot is hell because you need to squeak by all the drive thru cars waiting to pick up their orders. I am surprised there has been no fender bender yet. This drive thru also doesn't screen for people who "walk thru" which is not allowed. You have groups of 8 loud and obnoxious teens causing a traffic jam in the drive thru because they each need to pay separately and pick up individual orders. They should tell them to pick up the order inside! I am no longer going to be frequenting this location even though I live in the neighbourhood. The Timmie's is faster at this rate. read more

If they really want to do the whole "Taste Of Canada" promotion than how come there's nothing maple bacon flavored? Even if it's fake maple bacon...maple bacon is our thing now. I tried some of my friend's poutine....just don't. After that I just stuck to my salad wrap and coffee. Customer service was good and the line was managed efficiently. Just bought a large iced coffee from drive-thru because I haven't had one in a while...leave and take a sip - not an ounce on sugar in there. How hard is it to make an iced coffee? The ingredients are simple: coffee, sugar, cream, ice. Not even the first time this place has given me no sugar in my iced coffee. Has probably happened at least 5 times already. I get iced coffees from the McDonald's on Terminal and Main way more often than at this one and they have never once forgotten sugar in my drink. The Golden Arches have been here for a while, but it's pretty much not an option anyone really wants to eat. They are likely only open because it's 24 hours and there are better options for fast food like subway or other sit down restaurants which are just a few minutes away. One of the worst McD, if not the worst ever in the world. Very sad that it has been renovated but the food is not even edible. Especially on or after dinner time during weeks. The foods are so old and stale. The nuggets must have been sitting there for hours and the fry is disgusting. reak of old oil. I have a friend who is a manager at another McD, and he told me that if the food has been sitting there beyond 20 or half and hour, all must be thrown out and make new ones!!!
