Hotdog with a Japanese twist to it. Customer service was superb here. Came on a rainy day and was able to order from within the car. The guy working the food truck came out in the pouring rain to give us our order so we didn't have to get wet! The hotdogs itself was also yummy. I did enjoy the terimayo more than the okonomi a bit more. I thought the okonomi was a bit on the sweeter side. Would def come back to try their other hotdogs!

Always wanted to try one of these hot dogs and finally noticed the truck parked off No. 3 so gave it a try. We had the Bacon Cheese that came with a wagyu beef dogs, two types of cheese, bacon bits and a slathering of Kewpi Japanese Mayo. The dog had a nice snap to it but was a bit pricey for what you got. I understand it's a gourmet upscale hot dog and sure it was tasty. In the future I'd be willing to try the other varieties that looked good from what I saw others order and would like to give the shaken fries out as well!

Love Meat Wagyu Beef Terimayo Karaage Tonkatsu Kurobuta croquet Wagyu bacon and cheese Takoyaki Shaked fries Poutine Everything is yummy! It's kind of like a pinks hotdog Japanese style but I prefer it...!! They have a branch in California. I'll be there soon!

Dogs were good but expensive and not worth the hype is you ask me. $8 and $13 for the Wagu. Didn't find anything special about them.

The hot dogs were okay but not worth the hype and expensive if you ask me $8 and $13.

Finally, JAPADOG is now in Richmond! Access through Newtype Richmond Mitsubishi, across from Costco, south side of Bridgeport Rd. My faves list : * Terimayo, all beef with teriyaki sauce, Japanese mayo and seaweed -- awesome!! * Oroshi, pork bratwurst with radish (strong radish flavour) -- gooood! * Okonomi, Kurobuta pork dog with bonito flakes, japanese sauce, fried cabbage and mayo -- gooood! * Negi Miso, turkey dog with miso sauce -- gooood! * Love Meat, Arabiki pork sausage with meat sauce and lotsa cheese -- gooood! *Unfortunately, they don't have the Spicy Cheese Terimayo on this location (this is my fav) Just the dogs or going for the combo. Combos include shaked fries & drink. Fear not veggie lovers! They have a veggie dog option just for you! I'm sure it's good, but I can't comment on it because I probably won't be able to sway away from my faves list.

Although they're on the pricier side, it's worth checking out once if you're a hot dog lover, especially if you have friends to split one with so that you can try more hot dogs! My friends and I actually just came from dim sum at Kirin Seafood, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to try out JAPADOG since they were visited by famous people such as Anthony Bourdain (we're food nerds so he counts as famous). They were already out of a few types of hot dog around 1pm on a Friday, so we ended up ordering: -Kurobuta Terimayo/Signature Hot Dog w/Kurobuta Sausage (Teriyaki Sauce, Mayo, Seaweed, $6.25, http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=r-cMcW4kVkyK4agf8gycYQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Yum- a must order if you like kurobuta/fatty pork meat. The kurobuta sausage was super juicy and flavorful, and tasted delicious with the toppings. -Okonmi (Kurobuta Sausage Topped w/Bonito Flakes, $5.75, http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=bJ9V9LaCwXra3ZI6F6_P1w&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg): Although it was the same type of sausage, and that as good, we didn't like the combination of toppings as much as their signature. It was too heavy on the bonito flakes for me and I wouldn't order it again; however, this really did taste a lot like okonomiyaki. It took 5-10 minutes to prepare our hot dogs, so it was pretty quick. However, there wasn't a line at the time, so I'm not sure how much longer it would take if it were busy. Overall, I would definitely come back and try out other hot dogs from here if I saw the cart again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. It didn't seem like there was much parking around this area, so public transportation would be the way to go.

Pro: Great customer service, while waiting for my food an old lady came up and asked if she could have a salad at this hotdog stand, if it was me I would have told her to check the back so I can waste her time like she wasted mine. But the cook for the stand just calmly said I'm sorry we do not have those multiple times and proceeded to cook without aggression of this idiotic question Fast, when I ordered it is a one man team and it took him less than 3 minutes to give me 2 hotdogs Tasty, the hotdogs have a beautiful skin that explodes in flavor once bitten and hit just a bite that goes right through; there was a little resistance Con: Outside, no where to sit down and can't find a comfortable spot to relax and eat

Japadog has come to Richmond...I hope they stay! All the Japanese hot dogness that you can handle is on our side of the river! I had a great Oroshi (ground radish galore!) and a side of spicy "Shichimi" Shaken Fries...every combo comes with a soda and shaken fries. Not bad. The prices are lower at this location...downtown is quite a bit pricier. It might be a little confusing as to where the food trailer is.....until you are driving right by it on Bridgeport Rd. It is on the Mitsubishi Dealership lot right across from Costco. I have a thing about driving onto a dealership lot....feels like I'm gonna get mobbed by a salesperson or two. It worked out and lunch outside in the sun was delightful.

"Love Meat". I'm not the kind of person who gets Meat Lover's pizza, so this hot dog variation is a bit of a misnomer, as in, I wouldn't have ordered it had I seen just the name. The description is full of yumminess, though! First of all, the sausage is Arabiki - the juicy ones I love in Japan. Then, the "Meat" in the name is for meat sauce - Japanese-recipe-Bolognaise. It has lots of finely chopped onions and vegetables besides the ground meat, so it's not too meaty. It was topped off with white and yellow cheese, either broiled or torched (I wasn't looking) to make them melt. Of course, it was good, but the drawback was that the Arabiki didn't stand out as much as it deserves to. I wonder if they do Arabiki without all the toppings? I also got "Shaked Fries" in Shichimi and Garlic. The fries are skinny and crispy. I think I get them more for the nostalgia value (of the flavoured fries at First Kitchen, a chain in Japan), as opposed to its own gourmet value. Japa Dog seems to be renting a lot in front of a house-like building on Bridgeport, but the only way I can see to get there by car is to use the Mitsubishi dealer's driveway. I wonder if they get a cut... They do have three Japa Dog parking spots. There is a small tent with three tables for two. Free green tea refills!

Loveeeeeeeee Japadog! I've had just about everything on the menu. The shaked fries are awesome too. This location is my fave because I spend a lot of time shopping at costco and I can just zip across the street and grab me a yummy dog with seaweed or bonito flakes on top. :D

Interesting. The Japanese mayo was a nice twist on hot dogs. Kids loved it. I'm told later that we should have went to the full store instead of the cart.

So nice, so amazing hotdogs!!! I ordered spicy cheese turimayo $6.25, so tasty that I finished just on the road lol

Very mediocre. Didn't enjoy my hotdogs nor the putin with gravy. Definitely didn't enjoy the man at the register that wasn't pleasant.

Here, the menu unsurprisingly focuses on Japanese-style hot dogs featuring ambitious toppings like nori, bonito flakes, and even yakisoba. Founder Noriki Tamura brought his first food cart to Downtown Vancouver back in 2005, and Japadog has since expanded to countless locations across Metro Vancouver (as well as a cart on the Santa Monica Pier). Over the years, Japadog has garnered award after award, as well as hosted many a famous customer (from Anthony Bourdain to Ice Cube). We spent our final meal in Vancouver at Japadog's airport-adjacent outpost within the McArthurGlen Designer Outlets. All of the shops at this outdoor shopping mall are consistently buzzing, and this indoor, table-equipped Japadog location is no exception. The color palette sports a muted black-and-white with occasional pops of red. Warm lighting is focused on the expanded menu (which, here, even includes alcoholic beverages and ice cream desserts), stretching nearly the entire width of the restaurant above the ordering counter. The whitewashed walls are decorated sparingly with framed accomplishments and large posters of Japadog's most popular items. Black plastic chairs are pressed up to plenty of worn wooden tables, but securing a seat still can be a dice roll. Pop music blends with sizzle from the kitchen and chatter across countless different languages. Across multiple visits, my partner and I had the opportunity to sample many of Japadog's greatest hits and beyond. Of the topping combinations, our favorite was the signature Terimayo, featuring a sweet-and-savory combination of sauces to glue the salty fried onions and seaweed onto the dog. The Okonomi dog (inspired by okonomiyaki, Japanese savory pancakes) was decked with a sweet Worcestershire-based sauce, fried cabbage, and bonito flakes, culminating in a stronger but less dynamjc flavor than the aforementioned Terimayo. Lastly, the Yakisoba featured noodles that created more mess than flavor, but the salty pickled radish felt uniquely complimentary to the hot dogs. The franks were half-sliced to facilitate bites and maximize surface ares, and the buns were lightly grilled to a sturdy texture. Between the two different franks, we were most impressed by the juicy and flavor-packed Kurobuta pork hot dogs. In constrast, the slightly larger Wagyu beef dogs reminded me of a sophisticated ballpark frank, but I didn't think they were worth the premium. Meanwhile, the knuckle-sized Wagyu Menchikatsu was a deep-fried meatball of sorts that felt wholly awkward to manage on a hot dog bun. For sides, we very much enjoyed the Butter & Shoyu Shaken Fries. These extra-crispy shoestring-style fries were definitely elevated by the well-distributed seasoning. In contrast, skip the Meat & Cheese Poutine, which sported a one-note gravy, boring ground beef, and melted deli cheese. Of desserts, I most enjoyed the Age Ice with Black Sesame. The donut component was rich and crispy, while the ice cream was pleasantly sesame-y without going overboard sweet -- just be prepared to down it before the bread get soggy. The Omatcha Parfait fetured a sweet matcha ice cream and a less exciting vanilla scoop, both of which were which were enhanced by the many other textures of corn flakes, mochi balls, and jellies -- few places offer such a unique dessert in fast-food form. Lastly, the intensely tart Yuzu Japanade was a worthy beverage, delivering on its promise of a strong yuzu flavor. Service was efficient and professional, and all of the food was made-to-order. Prices range widely, but expect the Kurobuta hot dogs to cost about $7, while the Wagyu varieties are priced upward of $10. At these prices, Japadog admittedly feel more expensive that a standard fast food meal, and I wouldn't expect to ever fit it into my routine. But the best items on the menu are worth an occasional splurge, and Japadog certainly warrants a visit if just for the shear novelty.

They've added some items on the menu that I didn't see from the last time I was here. They have vegan options as well. It is more than just food stalls and vendors selling jewelry, stickers, socks, cell phone accessories etc. There are bouncy castle, inflatable balls to run around in, zip line, fair games like the PNE etc. What I find ridiculous but common here in North America is having to pay an admission fee just so you can go spend more money on food and shopping. In other parts of the world where night market or Christmas market is a common thing, you just go stroll through the streets where vendors and shops are for free. Buy food and things when they catch your eye. So it's $7 general admission now, $5 after 10 pm for late night. Seniors (60+) and children (under 7) are free. There are some stalls offering happy hours items for the entire night ($10 under food and $7 under drinks). Otherwise food is around $15 on average. The food stalls are still mostly Asian fare. Many bbq skewers and I saw many getting the squids. I tried a frozen banana dessert which was cut up frozen banana dipped in chocolate and drizzled with pistachio sauce and that's the Dubai inspired dessert. Not that great. The cheese coin was decent with plenty of cheese. The inari bomb was pretty tasty. Many stalls are cash only. So bring cash, lots of cash. There is a 3% charge for admission ticket if paying by card. I'll say budget for minimum $100 each if you want to fully enjoy the experience of buying food from a few stalls, play a couple of games and buy things. Parking is free and well organized. There is also a lot of soccer related theme this year because of the World Cup where a few games will be held in Vancouver. I can see this place being popular for young kids, teenagers and young adults as something to do with friends. As I still travel to Asia at least once a year, I can totally skip this. If you're expecting it to be like the night markets like in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia etc, this is not it.
