Let's start with the good. Huuuuge Boa's! Easily the biggest I've ever seen. The bun is as good as they come, pillowy soft, yet strong enough to hold all of the ingredients that make up these massive sandwiches. Now as far as the food itself, well, disappointing to say the least. I tried the chicken katsu, crackle belly, and Seoul beef. All were technically flawed in various ways. The chicken katsu was the more enjoyable of the bunch, great on breading and flavor, but the chicken itself was tough and on dry side. The amount of beef in the Seoul beef is beyond generous, and actually tasty. But the kimchi does absolutely nothing to add to this. As far as the crackle belly? My oh my. Pork belly is my thing. I've had more than I could count. None as bad as this. The name crackle implies crispy. This cut of pork was so tough and overcooked with little to no fat, that i started to question if it was even ever from the belly itself. Surely this could not be the norm at boa sandwich bar. Maybe a bad day at the office? I would certainly hope so, because even with mild expectations, Bao sandwich bar falls waaaay short.

I decided to break out of my usual order routine when I passed by the huge sign that indicated to try the mushroom mozza burger. I love mushrooms. I love the mozza burger. Why not throw everything I love together?! This A&W is across from Arby's. It would have been a tough decision if I had to choose one place. However, I had already had lunch at the latter. So, dinner at the former was a no-brainer. I went though the drive-thru. It's open 24 hours! I ordered the mushroom mozza burger as a combo. I knew that I didn't have to have fries as a side. What I didn't know is that there are even more options. You can also get onion rings (my usual), poutine, and sweet potato fries. Wow! I went with sweet potato fries and a diet root beer. The speaker isn't great at the drive-thru. I had to repeat my drink and my question about sides twice. The drive-thru accepts debit and credit. I waited a bit before I got my order. The person serving me was helpful and pleasant. I headed back to my hotel room to eat and continue the Star Wars movie marathon on Showcase. I loved the burger. So good! My sweet potato fries had around six potato fries in it. I liked the mix. Perhaps I will be bold next time and see if I can intentionally ask for a mix of fries. The sweet potato fries were delicious. It came with a barbeque-esque mayo sauce. I didn't like it. The fries were perfect on their own. I love root beer. Enough said. This meal hit the spot. I will need to order another combo soon before the offer goes away. (218)

Environment: The restaurant is located at the King/University plaza, where there are ample of parking space and really convenient for those taking the bus as well. The restaurant itself is clean, well lit, and has a few seats. It's best to come in a group of 4 of fewer if you plan on dining here. The decor seems to be going for a "bathroom chic" as described by my friend -- "4 stars - delicious food, feels like I'm in a bathroom"! Lol. It's mainly because of the tiles on the wall and the uncomfortable seats. Food: The BOGO special only allowed us to order from their special bowls so we tried the Big Umami (salmon + tuna) and the one with the Duck. Quantity wise the bowl seems to be good value given that it normally costs $15 per bowl. They put a generous amount of toppings on top of the rice and the flavour was good and the fish sashimi was quite fresh. Definitely no watery/soggy texture! The food also looks damn good with lots of colours, which not only is super appetizing but also so Insta worthy!! Service: Basically fast food McDonald like ordering, no table service. When we were lining up they got someone to hand us the big cardboard menu and explained to us how the ordering works. However...they somehow managed to messed up the order. I got the Big Umami with rice and only one of them had rice while the other one was mixed greens :( definitely a little too healthy for me.....

Sashimi flavourful and saucy. Avocado perfectly ripped. FYI: If you love taking pictures, The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing. And!!!! They provide some picture booth accessories you can choose from to make your pictures even cuter!!! :) Overall 10-10!! Every bite is PERFECTO IN MY MOUTH!

If you're looking for delish poutine, look no further…read more I'm not a huge poutine fan but I have to admit the three poutine meals I tried were amazing. I had the Traditional, Chili Cheese Chicken, and the Double Pork. The meat was well cooked and tasted fresh. The fries were crispy (even with the gravy on them) and a had a lot of flavor with all the toppings. The cheese curds were done right good texture, weren't too hard or too soft. The prices were decent about $8-10 for a regular size dish and $13-$15 for a large size, WOW as they call it. The wait time wasn't bad for a Wednesday evening, the food was ready within a few minutes. The staff was friendly. Excellent overall experience, would recommend.

I tried the Hogtown Poutine, because honestly...in terms of the original you can never beat La Banquise. It was definitely what I expected, fresh cut fries with awesome toppings such as meatballs, bacon, carmelized onions...oh, did I mention smoked bacon? Delicious! My only problem with this place is the gravy is sunk to the bottom. I'm used to the gravy on the top similar to other poutine places I've tried. Limited seating room, so take out is recommended. Cash and debit only!
