After the sudden death of my Spouse I gave Hurds-Hendricks as the place for the hospital to call -…read moreafter all they were "hometown". When I contacted them the man was abrupt and the cost quoted seemed very high. I then contacted another local business and found the exact same services were nearly 40% less. I went in to speak in person to someone at Hurd's and the man was once again not helpful nor overly courteous. I paid quite a price just for the transport from Peoria to home. I then took my business to a place where they were helpful and made a difficult experience easy to understand, less painful and a lot more affordable. I do not feel that I was treated with much respect and definitely feel same/ similar services should not have that much price discrepancy. It is unfortunate that at a time of such grief the cost is important, but often it is. In this case I not only received a better value elsewhere, but I was treated with more care and dignity. Even if the price were not a factor I would actually still choose to take my business elsewhere after this experience. I did review the Funeral Home I ultimately chose.
