Interest rates are historically low. We refinanced our house twice this year with McGlone. Both times we worked with Jared G as a loan officer and Olivia T as an underwriter. I can highly recommend both of them. We are owners of multiple businesses and proof of our income not as easy as for someone with conventional salary. Nevertheless both times the process was a breeze, we were asked for additional documents, but nothing we could not produce. Rates and closing cost are competitive and each time we had a question they followed up timely and we always had professional and knowledgeable person to speak to. This review is long overdue. I refinanced with McGlone/Homestead last June of 2020. I had a great experience and everything seemed to be good until I had an issue this year in my home. My family and I unfortunately had a water leak in our home that damaged the first floor. When I went to file an insurance claim I was told I did not have insurance?! After research it was discovered that my loan officer never followed up to take care of it, my money sat in escrow for the insurance to be paid but it was never taken care of. They will not do anything to help us and we have been living on a concrete slab with our kitchen and drywall torn apart for 4 months now. It has been extremely stressful and taxing on our family and a lot of work dealing with a lawyer, which is far from over. I will do everything to keep warning everyone about dealing with this company moving forward. I'm left with $50,000 in damage because of their error and they are not stepping up to help. read more

We started our refi with two other companies. We closed with Matthew Simanek at McGlone. Matthew was great to work with and everything flowed smoothly, unlike our experience with the other two companies with whom we started our refinance. We got a great rate (through a 10/1 ARM which many companies don't even offer), with low costs and our appraisal value came in as it should (with one of the other companies it came in 10% lower). When the appraisal took longer than we had initially expected, Matthew was able to expedite the process even though it was a Federal holiday. J: Asks what my best offer was from others M: Not comfortable providing that *Fri* M: Decide to tell lowest rate 1.99% J: "Awsome, I may have lower. Did you get that in writing?" M: No to 1.99 yes to 2.25 J: Asks to fill forms. Also could I submit other vendors GFE M: Submitted forms + GFE with PII stripped as proof not making it up. ... starting to get suspicious M: "So are you saying you can't match that?" J: "If I can match it would I earn your business" M: "So far I have seen nothing from your end if I could see a GFE from your end and you could match or better then yes" ... back and forth over drop from 2.0 from 2.25 and pay $xx J: offers quote close to what I already have ... why I didn't want to give details in the first place (lesson learned). I contact this lender because I was looking for good options for refinancing my home. I did a quote online and I was contacted by Nick C (Licensed Loan Originator from McGlone Group). In the beginning, we were making numbers for my options in the refinance. Two days after we were in contact, we talked by phone and he gave me excellent numbers and I just applied online (invitation received in my email). I lived in Florida and he is 3 hours difference between us, he worked this night in my loan application and never heard again. I try to contact him twice writing messages but not answer. I think was nonprofessional, he runs my credit and didn't give me even my credit score, didn't send to me the loan estimate, even never answered my messages. My application was on 03/12/2020 and no answer. I don't recommend this lender/bank. Changed on 03/18/2020 I change my initially 1 star review because I received very good answers from one manager and the customer service after this review. Also, I received the a letter with a credit report after 7 days. Thank this website that is very helpfull for the people that need to know the experience with this lender. read more

We found McGlone from Bankrate.com to find competitive rates for our first time investment property since shopping for mortgage rates is just as impt as finding a good property. People here on Yelp and Bankrate seemed pleased so we decided to choose them based on rate. We have excellent credit so we didn't expect any problems with lending once we found a good rate. We wanted to make an offer, they checked our credit and we obtained pre-approval above the asking price. We submitted all documentation and my realtor sent information about the property (it states it's a duplex plus lot on side...and I had mentioned a couple times that we are investors, as the loan officer did also mention has owns rental property as well.) Sadly and rather unexpectedly she "didn't realize the property was a duplex" and the finished report by the appraiser finally came in 3 weeks, but their 'report' to us and lender were only pictures, no comps, no assessment, nothing! The photos of the messy rental units, including a unit with 'horror' motif, didn't help "sell" the property to the lender, as I can imagine! (which was pretty funny/not funny but at least was entertaining), but I thought McGlone being professional lenders they would have seen beyond the messy photographs; we also blame their appraiser's lazy delay in writing the full report. Eventually the property was miraculously appraised for the seller's exact amount (the comps were of SFH not other duplexes in the area, so totally not accurate) but too much time had lapsed and we found a better lender offering a loan + renovation finance. We are very disappointed with the service with McGlone, the agent (Niki) should have told us that they do not do renovation loans to investors. Now we are a month back to where we had started with a different lender. Perhaps McGlone is fine for primary residential single family homes. I would not recommend them for, it has been a frustrating experience, I felt we had to initiate the calls to learn what was going on with the delays. They're too busy! **If you're an investor, pls feel free to reach out to me with a direct message and I'll give you a few recommendations for lender. The rates were good, and the fees were below other banks. Jim sold me on the 55-day rate lock. He was extremely responsive from the day I selected McGlone, and the process went smoothly. The appraiser was out that weekend, the title insurance guys they work with were cheaper than anything I found on my own, and the refi was done in about a month. I was really concerned using them to process my refi based on all the negative reviews. I selected them from the list provided on lending tree because they had the lowest rate. Jeff was my agent and he handled everything as well as anyone could expect. The only reason this isn't a 5-star review is because we had a couple of hiccups due to their lack of experience doing loans in California. Example, we had to do two appraisals since the bank they arranged for me wouldn't accept the first appraisal. McGlone did not try to charge me and ate the costs for the error. Don't be afraid to use them and Jeff is the man to deal with. He was always available by phone and was on top of any issues that came up. He was also willing to take the time to answer any questions I had. My loan is now arranged with the terms that were offered to me and nothing changed from the good faith estimate. I have refinanced several times with Brian McGlone and McGlone Mortgage. I also used them when we moved to get the mortgage on our new house. He got me a 90% LTV loan with no PMI, which I didn't think was even possible! Brian and his staff make it incredibly easy to finance or refinance and I always get an incredible rate. 100% completely satisfied... that doesn't mean that everything always goes smoothly, but the few times there have been issues, Brian works tirelessly until they are resolved. My friends I have referred to Brian have been similarly pleased. I send Brian all of my documentation to qualify for the loan, and he takes care of the rest. I consider this preferable to having to make an appointment with a local loan originator. I can do it all through email, and the only in person items are the appraisal and the closing. John McGlone often used to visit the store I worked in. He was always rude, condescending, combative, and insulting. He was always so angry and refused to let us help him in any manner just because he would have to wait behind other customers or because he did not like that his bill was so high from his own use. He would always throw around business cards stating "this is what an honest business is" I'm not sure why he thought anyone would do business with him after making scene after scene. I contacted John Barscz (Loan Originator) at McGlone Mortgage Group pursuing a refinance. He walked me through the qualifying questions, explained the documentation I'd need to provide and sent an application. I furnished the info and started working exclusively with Maura (Mortgage Processor). My refi was more complicated than most (name changes, additions to deed, etc) and Maura stayed on top of things, notifying me immediately when further documentation was needed. I am surprised by any strong ratings this lender has received. I submitted an inquiry through bankrate.com and promptly received a phone call. However, the quality customer service ended there. I spoke with Brian Never Provided a Last Name - Though, after looking at the contact information on their website will have to assume I spoke with Brian McGlone (possible namesake of the bank? - he was the only Brian listed). Brian was, at best, arrogant and employed dated high pressure sales tactics. Though I submitted my inquiry through bankrate.com, I was also recommended to reach out through a neighbor who had refinanced through McGlone. Upon mentioning this, his arrogance turned into annoyance and he stated that it was extremely inconvenient for him to deal with "you referrals." He also stated it was unethical for neighbors to talk to each other and inquire about refinancing through a same lender. This struck me as very odd. I have never encountered a business that did not appreciate referrals - ever. Information provided was limited and any questions asked was responded by a push to "lock today." I attempted once more to get answers to my questions - seemed basic enough and been provided in estimates from other lenders, i.e. can you provide me with estimated closing costs? However, I only received the same response, "you're not going to get any more information or anything better unless you lock with us today. I was utterly disappointed in how poorly I was treated and would never recommend this bank. In fact, treatment was so bad I'm taking effort to write a review - a rare occurrence for me. Yes, I am one of those people who only write bad reviews. But if service is good - I'm more old school and refer business. Doesn't matter in this case anyway, since Brian/McGlone doesn't referrals. read more

I contacted her again on Thursday March 29th to proceed with the application. She said it would take any where from 7 to 10 days for the approval from the under writers. Friday A.M. it was already at the under writers. It was approved on Tues Aril 3rd. You need to get on here web site and contact her. You need good credit and then the process will be a breeze. This lady is a professional and will keep in contact with you through the whole process and keep you at ease. Also closing costs are cheaper than at a bank and she got me a 85 day lock. The builder is paying our closing costs and there is money left over so that I could get a lower rate on interest. The rate is 4.375% for a 30 fixed which is excellent. Excellent Experience! (Coming from a career banker). My wife and I were in the market for a new home in the Milwaukee, WI area. With my wife in the military we qualified for a VA loan which my institution does not offer. I reached out to a mortgage broker I knew and was disappointed with the rate offered compared to where market rates were. I frequently visit bankrate.com to check current rates and found McGlone Mortgage in Appleton, WI listed as offering one of the lowest VA rates on the site. I wasn't nearly as concerned with staying local as I was with getting the best rate possible. Naturally though, I was skeptical of the low rates from a lender I was not familiar with. After reading a handful of the hundreds of reviews on BBB, I emailed Jeff Groff at McGlone. Jeff explained to me how his process worked and how our loan would progress. From day one the experience was nothing but positive. Jeff and his underwriter (Raena) stayed in constant contact with us and guided us through each step of the process. We were able to lock our interest rate very quickly. As we came close to closing, interest rates had fallen significantly and Jeff was able to adjust our rate down by a significant margin. This meant monthly savings of over $100, all interest. There was no fee for this adjustment! At the closing there were no "last second surprises" for instance; a fee that had not been disclosed, a rate that didn't match what we were told, etc. Everything was delivered as promised.
