Absolutely terrible. I don't know how they plan to keep this school open, because it really needs…read moreto be shut down. The teacher turnover rate is astronomical, which I can understand because working in such an unorganized, negative environment has to be exhausting in itself, on top of working with children who have zero structure provided for them. There is absolutely no parental involvement or communication, no special needs or IEP/504 implementation. The curriculum is so behind, no one knows up from down, including the children. It's truly just an unstructured, toxic mess.

In the years since this school has opened I have supported them since their doors opened . I have…read moredefended the school openly on Facebook for years and it is with a heavy heart that I say this has been the worst year ever. The school is out of control . It's very unclear who has been in charge and the person they promoted from " math coach " to instructional administrator bullies kids and parents . Seven teachers left in the first semester alone . Apparently they have no code of how they expect kids to behave so their is lots of bullying . The students are poorly behaved but so many of the teachers behavior is very immature . Not one situation I had a issue with was ever addressed . The principal had not gotten her certification yet and passes everything on to other people . I had no teacher meetings , my daughter has not learned things she should by this age and I sent my child there at age 6 by age 12 I can clearly say the environment at this school is a nightmare . I could go on for hours about it but unless there is a serious review of the school and someone goes in and really sees what's going on . Please don't send your child here . Let me also remind you I am not just a angry parent acting like this because I had a petty issue . My child was one of the first students at this school . I'm embarrassed I defended it so much . I had one male teacher several of the sixth grade girls said made them uncomfortable . My daughter has never said that before . The school refused to give me his name and the principal when I asked for it suggested a meeting with him but dismissed any concerns that he may not need to be with middle school girls . The former math coach has been promoted to almost ruler of the school and I'm not sure who she bullies more the parents or the students . She bullied my daughter but no one suggested a meeting with her in fact I said if she was promoted into a power of position I would not return. . She has no children but if you want your child to be screamed at and chased down in the bathroom only to have your concerns dismissed then please send your kid here . I had a confident happy child now I have a anxious uptight 12 year old who spent every outdoor event with the nurse because the bullying is so bad outside . This school is not following any of the regulations that the main Green Charter Schools follow . Apparently they are just worried about numbers so the meanest kids rule these small classes . Quite a few of the teachers are complete jerks to the kids but the cameras have no sound so you know .. I know a student accused a teacher of slapping her and the student lied but no one punished the student . If you have a middle school child they are going to treat all the kids as the worst behaved children in the world . I have endless emails since last November but no one cared . I felt like I had to fight all year to make sure my child wasn't being bullied by a student or a teacher . Any school that hides teachers names and won't give out emails is sketchy . They have no art supplies to have a proper art class . The gymnasium is the lunch room and the new instructional admin her tik tok went public to all the middle school with her twerking on the kids lunch table and she gets to be in charge ? She tried to block my child from going to the nurse for no reason and it got dismissed as a mistake . I am a really nice person and have remained as classy as possible but I gave this school six years . Maybe if someone actually can get in the school and teachers aren't afraid to talk they can change it to what it once was . The best three years were the first three . I in good conscience can't suggest anyone put their child in this school unless Greenville and the District clean house. They may be putting on a good show to the Charter School District but trust me this is no quick fix for sixth grade .

ATTENTION ALL PARENTS AND POTENTIAL PARENTS INTERESTED IN HAVING YOUR CHILD OR CHILDREN ATTEND THIS…read moreDAY CARE FACILITY...My name is O'Neal, and my sister has been working for this business owner Cindy, on and off for approximately 30 years. Unfortunately on New Year's Day, our father passed away. My sister has been taking care of our disabled mother, dealing with funeral arrangements, as well as taking care of and visiting our sister who is in ICU currently, after having a stroke due to complications with diabetes. I have flown in from Tacoma, Washington to assist her with this, and support our family through this. Cindy is only wanting to give her 3 days of bereavement to get things taken care of, which in my opinion is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE for someone who had held EVERY POSITION in this company. She is only concerned with the fact that she has to work while my sister is trying to grieve our father's passing. She has yet to tell our family that she is sorry for our loss, and has not shown any empathy for us at all. Yesterday she was EXPECTING my sister be at work. When contacted and having the situation explained MULTIPLE TIMES, she tried to show empathy by sending flowers to the service. While this is appreciated, the sincerity just isn't there. On top of this she is refusing to pay vacation time to my sister. Today we went by to get my sister's paycheck. I went in to support my sister. She didn't want to introduce herself to me, and said nothing. She put her hand in my face and walked into the office. She then proceeds to tell my sister that she'll see if we can accommodate this.YOU'RE THE OWNER!!!! OF COURSE YOU CAN!!! I have been a retail manager for over 30 years myself, and the professionalism, and the experience was EXTREMELY rude.So ask yourselves...if an owner is willing to treat an employee this way, then imagine what type of experience your children may have here. Once I told my business owner what happened, the response was to take as much time as I needed. They weren't worried about lunch breaks or anything, except making sure that I was taken care of in this time of grief. I mean really? Do what you want to, by all means, that is your decision, and your choice, however, I STRONGLY suggest that you don't make that mistake. Being short staffed, and not having a break is not our concern, when we haven't even had the wake, viewing, or even the funeral yet. I'm sure that I'll get a negative response from her on this email, and that's okay. I have a lawyer on standby, if my sister doesn't get the correct compensation or isn't treated more fairly with this situation. Thank you for your time.

LOVE THIS SCHOOL!…read more This is the school both of my kids go to. It's a virtual, online public school. My kids are in 10th and 12th grade and are EXCELLING at this school. Their last "brick and mortar" school left much to be desired and I am so thankful we found SCCA. The teachers are so helpful and truly care about the students and their needs, success, and the education they are getting. I have never had a problem with contact from the teachers or administration - they are prompt to return my calls/emails, and stay in touch with me and the kids over the phone. The variety of learning materials are essential to this school's success. There are actual textbooks/workbooks, as well as online ones. The lessons/activities are interactive and interesting. There are "live lessons" that take place in a virtual classroom where the teacher and students come together at a set time to have reviews and Q&As. There is an internal "webmail" system for the teachers and staff to communicate with the students and parents as well as allowing the students to talk with each other and make connections/friends. There is a message board FULL of info. Field trips are scheduled regularly for all age groups. There are extra-curricular opportunities with the Clubs program such as "Pens & Lens", the school magazine the kids put together, or the Robotics Club, Pen Pals, Student Leadership Club, and many, many more. My son was failing his first 2 years of "regular" high school. He is now a "B" student, on his way to graduating. My daughter faced peer pressures, drama, and even sexual harassment in her old school. She's now on the right path, in a safe environment, and doing well. I am very happy with SCCA and highy recommend it.
