Professional attitude & friendly kids. I was told 2 people would come, 3 showed up so I dished out a little more for a tip. Its expensive so I won't be using again for a while. Just don't have that kind if money. But after a solid week of emptying my mother's apartment (she's a hoarder), I just didn't have the energy to do the kitchen & bathroom deep clean that was needed. Initially, things went well. First problem was when different "leads" showed up, despite the fact that I was promised that I would always have the same lead so there would be no question about what needed to be done. (Kitchen, 2 1/2 baths, vacuum/dust 2 bedrooms, dining room and sun porch). The straw that broke the camel's back was when I told them to forgo 2 rooms in favor of spending more time on the kitchen in this one instance when I had a lot of guest traffic, and they wanted to charge more. I emailed with Karen that the extra time on the kitchen should be offset by the time that was not spent on the other 2 rooms. All of $45. She wouldn't budge. It wasn't the money for me. It was the principle. I will continue to look to find a better fit. read more

Overpriced and underwhelming. At $105 per hour, or ($94.50 with senior discount) you should expect great cleaning, but it's average to mediocre. The owner, after an excessively long phone intake, suggested it would take five to six hours for the initial "deep clean." Since several bedrooms and other rooms in our house are not used, that seemed excessive, so we settled on four hours. While the crew of two people did a good job on the floors, it was otherwise not impressive. It didn't have that just-cleaned look and feel. They call it a top to bottom deep clean. Nope. Unfortunately we decided to give them another shot, and the second visit was absurd. First, the crew of three, who hadn't been here before, showed up not knowing the scope of work. Why? Don't you take notes, make a clear list for a new crew? Then the crew leader later tried to maintain to the owner that my mother had changed the scope of work mid-way through, when in fact she had made it explicitly clear when they arrived what they were to do, and then asked them to be sure to disinfect the bathrooms. The "cleaning" was a joke. The owner seems defensive and full of excuses, so we chalked it up to mediocrity, paid them their fee, and let them go. read more

800sq ft House -- Online, I submitted a request for a quote. Over the phone the owner, Karen quoted me 3.5 hours (maybe 4) and 134.99 for carpet cleaning (discounted since I was quoting the move-in/move-out cleaning service). 3.5 hours at $80 an hour seemed reasonable. I informed her over the phone that I only needed carpet cleaning and maybe some help with the bedrooms and blinds. I did tell her that I was more than capable to clean the bathroom and kitchen. I told her I would get back to her after receiving other quotes and discussing with my husdband. Karen called me to follow up. I called her back and left a message with an employee. Her employee told me that she would be back as she is out on a job. I said my phone would be on all night and she is free to call me. Her employee said that she would call me back that night. 1st Red Flag: she didn't call me back that night. But I chalked it up to being a small business owner and I was not the only one she was working with. I understand that stuff happens. She called me back the next day. 2nd red flag: She had no solid recolection of the quote that she gave me for time or carpet cleaning. She stated she was working from home and didn't have the notes she made when talking to me. Seemed reasonable so I brushed it off, but I felt like I was going in circles trying to re-establish a quote. I expalained I would be at the house the next day so that she could get a better idea. She agreed an did show up and was very pleasant. 3rd Red Flag: She still obviously hadn't looked at her notes about my original request. As she came in she started to go into the batroom (something I claimed that I would take care of). Since it was obvious that she didn't remember what my request was, I just let it go and explained that I was painting, I would be cleaning all surfaces before I painted. I said I could clean much of what she was pointing out to be done. Her response was to let her put together the quote with everything needed so that if I couldn't get to it, then it is not big deal. She also pushed that since it is hourly, if the service finsihed earlier than expected that I would not be charged for the hours not used in said original quote. I then stressed again that it was the carpets that I wanted cleaned primarily. I stated that we had three dogs and I wanted to make sure that the carpets were clean and fresh for the next occupant. It was only then that she said, that she could smell the dogs (dogs haven't been in the house since October... This is February...). It was then that she asked if I wanted the carpets deoderized along with being cleaned. 4th Red Flag: Back to the original phone call, my greatest concern I expressed in the conversation was to make sure that my house did not smell like my pets. Wouldn't you think that carpet deoderizing would have been something that should have been discussed and quoted over the phone? I thought it was. 5th Red Flag: When discussing the carpet cleaning, she asked me "so what was the quote I gave you for carpet cleanining $170-something??". Again, if she looked at her notes (if she even took any) she would have remembered that she quoted me $135. At this time she also changed the hours from 3.5 to 5 hours of cleaning. Mainly because she was writing up the kitchen and bathroom (things that I told her originally I didn't think I would need her to do). When she looked in the fridge, she commented that the fridge portion would be easy to clean, but she was perplexed as to how her cleaning ladies were going to clean the freezer drawer "does this come out, how would we get in there?". I showed her that the basket came out and she still didn't know how they were going to get to it. I told her I could clean that and not to worry about it (I got it cleaned out, along with the fridge in 25 minutes). As she wrote up the work proposal, and asked for my signature, she stated that moving foward after reviewing the proposal, to give her a credit card for the deposit, and also that same card would be used for final payment after the walkthrough. She stated that she was going to write up the proposal and send it to me that evening to review. 6th Red Flag: Proposal never came that evening. My husband said to forget it and move on. He just wanted the carpets cleaned as we were repainting every surface (including ceiling) and replacing all baseboard heaters and light fixtures anyway. As he put it, there wouldn't be anything really to clean that would possibly take 5 hours. I did receive the proposal the next day with a 50% deposit req. of nearly $400. At that point I informed her that my husband didn't see the need for cleaning as the house is being thouroughly cleaned by both of us before and after painting and that all we really needed were rugs. I work 2 jobs and have been very stressed out over the state of my house. I don't have the time to clean like I normally do and I was really embarrassed. I finally broke down and looked for help. So happy I found McGuire's Cleaning Service!!!! I submitted the email form on their website Tuesday night and got a call back first thing Wednesday morning. Karen explained all their services and set up time to come to my house for a free quote. She even offered to come the next day but we scheduled for Friday. Karen called before she came over to confirm and she did a thorough walk through of my home asking a lot of questions to make sure she wrote down exactly what I needed/wanted. She also explained everything the girls would clean. She suggested I be home (but it was optional) to answer questions. She scheduled my cleaning for Monday! The girls arrived a little early on Monday and got straight to work. I was glad I was there, they did check in with me throughout the process. They even had extra time and asked what additional things I would like. When Karen quoted me she said it would take 4 hours, and they may not be able to get my bedroom or second bathroom in. They were done in 3.5 and got everything! When they were done they asked me to take a look through and see if there was anything I wanted them to go over. I have never had my house professionally cleaned before. They exceeded all expectations. Having 2 professionals come and clean your home is well worth it. My whole house sparkled. My bathrooms have never been so clean. I felt like I was in a hotel! The girls were super nice, fast, courteous... Can't say enough. I also have a large dog and they were really nice to him too. I have been using McGuire's cleaning services for the last few months and have nothing but positive reviews of their cleaning services and customer service! For the last 22 years I have been the sole cleaner in my home, and as such, have become somewhat of a cleaning guru myself :) This year I have started to work more outside of my home and decided that it was time to have someone else come in and do the monthly deep cleaning that I used to find time for. My family was certain I would not find anyone that I felt did a good enough job. However, Karen and the team at McGuire's have proved them wrong! In addition to them doing a fantastic job, they have been more than understanding and willing to work with my crazy busy summer schedule which has involved travel to be with an elderly sick grandparent and sending two kids off to college. Despite the fact that I am as frazzled and undependable as ever lately - I know that I can count on McGuire's to be there when I need them and to deal with my schedule in a very friendly and understanding manner. I don't usually write reviews, however I did notice that they had one review that was not positive and wanted to make sure that potential customers knew that this wasn't the normal mode of operation I have experienced. In the beginning of my services with McGuire's, I did have a hard time setting up service. However, I can assure future clients that this delay in service was 100% on myself. I did not know what to ask for in a cleaning service and I did not understand the way in which cleaning services worked. At no time was I ever taken advantage of or treated rudely. Karen did have to lay down some working rules with me - and because of these, I feel that our relationship moving forward will always be positive because of those rules. We closed on a house but didn't want to move in until it had been cleaned in every nook and cranny. I have had the mispleasure of hiring this business for a house cleaning. On the phone I spoke to a lovely girl for my intake, Dominique I think her name was. But when I met the owner for an estimate she seemed to disregard what I wanted and kept trying to push other services on me, while rushing through our estimate. I completely understand if you are overbooked, but don't treat a new customer this way. Needless to say, I will not be ongoing. The girls did an average job cleaning, for a hefty 120$ an hour. They weren't overly polite, and overall it was a bad experience. I think I am looking into Merry Maids now. read more

My home was visibly brighter as if a film had been lifted and my house smelled clean, not perfumy but clean. I've tried many of the other cleaning companies (and independent workers!) in the area and was frustrated by the high prices, especially for the mediocre results I got, so I was a bit leery of hiring yet another company to clean my house. From the very first phone call, I felt at ease with McGuire's - I dealt directly with the owner who came up with an affordable, customized package that included everything I needed, and left off what I didn't. You can tell she really cares about her customers -- she even spot checked my home after the first cleaning I had! In February, 2017, we received move in cleaning service, carpet cleaning and window cleaning for a 4,000 plus square foot home. Although their quote was quite a bit more expensive than the three others we received, we decided to go with them because of the comprehensive services offered and they were the most responsive. Our final bill totaled thousands but we agreed. The window and carpet cleaning was excellent. We were pleased with the cleaning service although the house cleaning took longer than they originally estimated and in the end, they rushed over the floors. (The house was empty) At the last minute, they sent extra help in ( even though one cleaner stayed on her cell in our living room for the duration of the time) but overall we were happy. So much so, that we decided to contract with them for regular cleaning services. That is when the problem started. After the initial cleaning, I came home to find the 5 beds completely made incorrectly. I have never seen beds so poorly done! As matter of fact, one bottom sheet was completely ruined because it was forced on incorrectly! Bedspreads 1/2 off the bed, blankets bunched up under the bedspread and not tucked in, sheets on incorrectly, pillowcases on inside/out, pillows thrown...a mess! I took pics and sent them to the owner, Karen with an email. The response I received was shocking. She completely took offense, defended the cleaners and chided me for wanting "hotel quality" bed service. I cannot do business with a company where I cannot make a complaint. The most intimate service you can have in your home is cleaning and I have a right to be critical if I need to. And, making a bed is basic. It's not about wanting "hotel quality", I want the beds made correctly so we can sleep in them! I cannot recommend Karen McGuire's Top to Bottom Cleaning service enough. Her team has been cleaning my wife's parents' home for some years, so we were naturally inclined to use them for our house cleaning needs. When we moved into an old family farmhouse in upstate NY, we soon discovered that it had an extensive mold problem that requires aggressive remediation. The mold itself, along with cleanup, left our home sorely in need of deep cleaning--so, in a state of overwhelm, my wife and I reached out to Karen. She generously spent an inordinate amount of time on the phone with us ahead of time in order to deeply understand our specific needs and carefully develop a detailed action plan for her cleaning team. In the state we were in, we kept coming up with additional questions and even changed the request we gave to Karen at least a couple times. She was unfailingly patient, kind, and consummately professional, and she even made herself available to us after normal business hours. When cleaning day came, we could not be home--so it was a bit of a leap of faith for us. When we returned, we found our home SO much cleaner, and the cleaning team had obviously worked very hard and paid close attention to every aspect of the job. Moreover, the job came in under budget, so Karen was able to give us a credit. My wife and I could not have been more pleased and impressed, and we will definitely be using Karen McGuire's team for our further cleaning needs in the future (our mold remediation project is ongoing, so there will be more cleaning to be done!). read more
