While some teachers are great, at least three of my child's teachers were terrible at communication and sometimes rude. Teachers manage about 20 students per class and seem too busy to listen or address individual needs properly. Their communication with parents is often unclear, rude, or dry, leading to misunderstandings. Policies are fear-based rather than supportive, neglecting real-life skills, conflict resolution, and mental health. There's a lack of focus on nurturing self-discipline and respect. The school's environment fosters anxiety, stress, and low self-esteem, with no celebration of diversity. Kids are pressured by test scores and ratings, worsening their stress and undermining trust. The school needs a more competent team and better time management to support special needs students effectively.

We were specially told that she wouldn't be a fit because if the discussion came up in class amongst the other children that we weren't married, it would make other children think it was ok. Mind you, my daughter then was 5, and scoring above average in reading and math. We were told to come back when married and now that I am, I would NEVER enroll my daughter here. They should be ashamed of themselves. And they're supposed to be a Christian school. And of course we're African American.

This is our fifth year attending St. Paul, and the very reason I didn't pack up & move after my husbands death. They supported our entire family - emotionally, spiritually, and educationally. I cannot fathom my children attending a different school. I have been blessed to spend extra time there - as both a volunteer (to pay it forward) and substitute teacher, and my mind has not changed. If anything, my opinion on the school is strengthened.
