This was for a total of 13 very small pieces, and they feel like Material/Box and Labor to pack is worth $43.80 and the Shipping charge is $38.35. I dont know when these auction companies decided that they would make shipping their big money maker. The strike fee was less profit than their overpriced shipping charges are going to net. All I have to say is if you are a bidder and want your stuff shipped expect to be gouged on the unknown side with the shipping charges. I wish they wouldn't feel the need to nickel and dime people out of more money and its getting to the point that I will just no longer bid on items because the added strike fees and insane shipping charges make the item no longer worth it.

Buyer Beware - Overall Experience…read more I have purchased from Sharpless Auctions many times, always hoping to find a good deal. Unfortunately, my experience has been disappointing. I have received far more damaged or unusable merchandise than items in satisfactory condition. In my experience, many items appear to be damaged merchandise returned from retailers such as Amazon, Target, and Costco. I have received items that were so badly damaged they were completely unusable. Packaging is also frequently torn, heavily damaged, dirty, or has a mildew-like odor. I have also experienced purchased items being unavailable or missing at pickup. They claim they will look for the items and if not found will reimburse you a week later. I have heard similar complaints from other buyers while picking up merchandise there. Another concern is that listing photos do not always clearly show the extent of damage, making it difficult to accurately assess an item's condition before bidding. I strongly recommend inspecting items in person whenever possible. Buyers should also be aware of the 7% sales tax and 15% buyer's premium, which add approximately 22% to the final bid price. I understand this is a "buyer beware" auction and that the auction house states it is not responsible for damaged or missing items. However, I believe potential buyers should be aware of these risks before bidding. I am sharing my personal experience so others can make an informed decision. My advice is to proceed with extreme caution, inspect items carefully, and consider whether the potential savings are worth the risks and additional fees.

It's got a wide variety of items. I popped in on a Saturday evening and perused the shop. There are so many unique items, all priced appropriately. I was impressed to overhear a regular customer pop in and chat with the staff. There is definitely a sense of community at this shop. My daughter saw a daffodil Lego set and was thrilled have it purchased for her. (You're welcome.) It's cool that they have board game night (Thursdays) and that you can come play a board game yourself anytime during the day. On the same note-- if you have an old board game you can sell it here. You can now sell your used games in our store. To do this simply follow these few steps. You set the price and once it is sold you get 80% of that price as store credit. The coolest thing about The Hobby Corner is that they will order anything for you if you can't find it in the store-- at NO additional cost!
