I took my dog, Decker, back to the clinic after a month to have his allergy testing done. Every one of the employees are so welcoming and caring for Decker. His allergy testing took about a half an hour to complete and I waited in my car in the parking lot while he was getting tested. After the testing, they took the time to go over the results with me in depth and concocted his own personalized micro dose of drops for us to give him twice daily to help fight those allergens. He was a little stoned when he came out of the testing, and they offered to help get him in the car for me since he's a big boy! Decker ended up not needing any help and is happily resting at home. We are looking forward to our follow-up appointment in 3-4 months from now! read more

I brought my 2 year old lab into Dr. Sara Bancroft for some skin allergies that has been on and off for months. Dr. Bancroft was really great and explained my dogs condition very thoroughly and got him set up with medication and shampoo and he was feeling much better in just a few days. At first I thought that this place was great. But the staff that I had to deal with last week, severely changed my mind, I would not trust them to look in the direction of your pet. They are rude, disrespectful, liars. And yes, I told them my real feelings when they did not want to take care of my dog. My dog does not like them and I should have taken the cue way before now. But when you have a receptionist tell you 'oh no, we will do it but I'm trying to protect your pet from getting hit by a car and last time he almost slipped out of his collar', my 37 year old son who took him last time, said NONE of that happened. This place is a joke and they care nothing for the pets or the pet parents. They should be able to tell people the truth and say, WE JUST DON'T LIKE YOU OR YOUR PET. Such a shame. I found another place that understands my dogs anxiety and is ok with that. And then I got an email telling me I was no longer welcome in their clinic and to find another one, lol. I already had before this came through. So the first review that I did for the place, I take back everything I said. I WOULD NOT recommend this place for a fish. read more

Problem solved!!! Clearly a very well run clinic. I brought my 11 year old dog here on the recommendation of my vet ~ she was a student of Dr. McKeever's at the U of M years ago and spoke highly of him. So glad we went! He had suffered for years with persistent itching to the point of hair loss. So frustrating, and nothing seemed to help. The vet at McKeever suggested Cytopoint injections and/or allergy testing, explaining everything thoroughly and answering all of my questions. Monthly Cytopoint completely stopped his itching, with no side effects. Wow! The entire staff were always friendly and helpful, they returned phone calls quickly, and were impressive all around. Wow. It's unfortunate to see someone give such a low review based on one bad experience with a receptionist. I do understand the frustration when one gets a less than stellar customer service experience, but readers need to know that this office is AMAZING. Dr. McKeever saved my black lab from so much allergy related discomfort. And we tried everything - we're talking thousands of dollars spent....U of M, other "specialists", remedies, etc. A local vet finally told us "You need to get her to the best" and he gave me Dr. McKeever's name. Within weeks, she was feeling better and Dr. McKeever has skillfully managed her care ever since. And another thing I love about them is they don't try to nickle and dime you. Dr. McKeever does only what is necessary, rather than trying to get every penny out of you. As an example, a few times I've had concerns and instead of having me drive an hour to the clinic where they can earn an extra office visit charge, he has handled it over the phone. And it's not just that he's available, he's also really compassionate. He's like this really smart scientist but also very warm and caring about animals. Awesome combo. These guys are absolutely on top of their game as far as managing the details of your pet's care and condition. Don't hesitate. This is the place. read more

This is the best experience I've ever had taking my dog to the vet! The doctor was so thorough and addressed ALL my concerns. This is the first time where the vet has actually looked at every single thing I mention and walk me through treatment options, medicine, etc. As well, the doctor and technician were so kind. They talked so sweetly to my pup and made her feel so welcome. I've had experiences where some vets don't care about how the dog is really reacting during the visit (moving, whining, panting) but this doctor made sure my dog was comfortable even during the examination. Though it was pricer than any other clinic I've ever visited, I felt it was worth it for how thorough and compassionate the team was. I will be back for sure for any of my dogs skin/allergies. read more

I can't say enough about how great it is that we have this outstanding facility so close to us. Everyone, bar none, has been so helpful and wonderful to us in our journey to help our dog, Mr. Bojangles, get some relief from his allergy symptoms. They figured it pretty quickly and between medications and injections he is now practically symptom free (as long as we keep up with his plan of attack!). Before seeing Dr. McKeever I spent 3 years and thousands of dollars trying to solve my terrier's skin allergy. After a recommendation by a University of Minnesota vet, we decided to see Dr. McKeever. Dr. McKeever and now, Heinrich, are exceptional. The receptionsist review -- has no bearing. I had 2 (now 1) dogs with terrible allergies. One has since died. My girl is a mess. She is allergic to all things Minnesota. Add to that unimaginable immune supression and strange conditions. Drs McKeever and Heinrich have done amazing things indiscovering her issues and calming and in cases, resolving them. My dog is living life because the wonderful Dr. Heinrich asked more questions: just one more question...let's make sure we understand...I'm OK with that -- these are my family and I want the best care for my dog. I'm so sad Dr. McKeever has retired but he has trainned Dr. Heinrich well and she is a good fill in! These people are loving and caring and exceptional at what they do. We have a rat terrier, min pin and chihuahua mix. Until we adopted this dog, I didn't even know dogs had allergies. He scratched so much that a lot of the hair on his head and around his eyes was actually coming off. He was constanty licking and biting his paws. The vet initially told me to cut a Claritin tablet in half to give to the dog. That did nothing. The vet then prescribed an anti-inflamatory and a vitamin supplement, which also did nothing to help the situation. When we finally decided to take our dog to McKeever Dermatology, we felt the dog was in a deperate situation. Everyone at McKeever is so nice. Dr. McKeever is a very caring and compassionate doctor. My dog has been taking a new drug called Apoquil. It's been almost a month now and the itching is 95% better. The cost of the care at McKeever is a little higher than what you might pay at most vet offices, but it is well worth it. We are very happy with this clinic and would highly recommend them. read more
