I cannot say enough good about Jake and the entire staff at Benchmark. After injuring my Achilles…read morein July 2023 and the subsequent cast and then boot, I was sent to Benchmark in Thurston. When I first arrived, it seemed like a completely different approach than any other Physical Therapy I had heard about. I had always heard you went into a room with a therapist, they showed you some things to do and essentially sent you home. At Benchmark, you are greeted when you walk in, and there is a big open room with therapist and clients. At first, I was a little put off by this, thinking I may just be "a number" and not get very good care. I couldn't have been more wrong. Jake was the lead for my care, but everybody who helped me was great. It's hard to think about healing when you roll in with your leg in a boot on a scooter the first time. My lower leg and foot were essentially non-functional when I started, as it had to be in a boot and I couldn't even put pressure on it. I remember asking how many people continue their therapy after their first visit or so and it wasn't a very high number unfortunately. They are there to help you, even if it isn't fun. Healing is a long process, and completely worth it. Even after my sessions ran out, they took care of all the details and spoke with the doctor to get me more visits, as I wasn't healed yet. Even after a few visits, you start seeing results. It took visiting multiple times a week for months for me to be released. Over the visits, you get to know the team, and they get to know you. It becomes more like going to visit your friends before or after work, versus actual therapy. Everybody knows your name, will chat with you while you are working on something, or just to say hi. I should have known when I saw people bringing them baked goods as a thank you (I took them homemade cupcakes at one point) that it was a great place! After months of visiting and following their directions, I was able to walk out without my boot or scooter and drive myself home. I cannot thank Jake and his team at Benchmark enough for getting me from immobile back to normal while being helpful and friendly the entire way.

Everyone there is nice and I greatly benefited from my therapy there! Jake, the manager, who I mostly worked with was awesome. I will really miss everyone there.

I wasted an hour every appointment only to have my wife do a better job at home. They just called me this morning to say they are canceling my appointments because I didn't show up to three appointments. The first appointment in question was canceled because the therapist was on vacation, the second appointment in question had been scheduled on a day that I specifically said to the old woman who does the scheduling that I would be out of town. This last Thursday I had received an appointment reminder that had said my appointment was at 10am on Friday, I drive the half hour there and arrive at 9:50am. I was told very rudely by Dan at the front desk that I was wrong and my appointment was at noon. I said I wasn't going to be able to come back or wait there for two hours because I was on a tight schedule. He very rudely cancels the appointment and I left with my neck pain in tow. This was a very busy day for me and I knew I hadn't been there in two weeks, so I made it a point to make time for it. I'm dealing with a broken neck as well as broken ankle and both have been causing me quite a lot of pain recently. The ankle hasn't been healing correctly and just got mri's to see why. I was hoping physical therapy could start helping me but instead they dropped me as a patient. I would highly recommend going ANYWHERE BESIDES HERE!

We are working on my knee which has been a chronic long time painful issue. And we're making a lot of progress. I love getting the PT at the gym because Leslie can show me equipment I can use between sessions and the trainer can plan my workouts to compliment the PT work. The PT work has been invaluable keeping me healthy and active.
