I do not expect it to entail a lot of discussion. Having gone to another practitioners in the area who kept me waiting for a half an hour then looked at my tongue and and told me to make another appointment to come back for treatment- I was so relieved to walk in and get no nonsense treatment and relief immediately. Dr. Van Enk is the real deal, she will help you out.

Me, be scared of needles thought he was just being a quack, and though yeah! Okay! This is NOT going to work! So here I went to prove him wrong....Boy, was I the one who was wrong. I couldn't believe how much pain relief I received. Also, the fact I am super afraid of needles went away because I couldn't see them. It was painless, and if you get out of your head, and just relax, and let it work, it truly works. I went to Jennifer, and then the pandemic hit. I didn't see my spine doctor, and didn't get in anymore acupuncture sessions. Fast forward to now, I have been dealing with chronic migraines, neck, shoulder, pain, that radiates to my arm, and hand. Been doing pt for it with barley any relief, so I begged my doctor to have a referral for acupuncture. I have bulged discs, and disc degeneration that is the cause of the pain, so the pain comes and goes it was really bad on the days before my appointment, along with bad migraines. I ended up going to see Jennifer again, and I tell you what my pain has not been near as bad. I highly recommend giving acupuncture a try if you have not tried it. Even if you are a sceptic like I was. I am amazed at the relief it brings.

But there are a few things that have turned me away from this studio, despite it being the only non-bikram hot yoga studio in eugene. First, their staff can be rude and off-putting. Though she teaches a great class, there is one instructor (brown curly hair) who often scolds or talks down to you in front of the class when your form is incorrect. In a setting where we're supposed to feel unselfconscious and confident in ourselves, this makes it very difficult. I'm also disgusted by the pricing here. I'm a college student, so I don't have a lot of extra money to spend, but I care about my body and will pay for yoga as much as I can afford. But Zen Spot is just too much money. A 5-class package is $70, and it expires in 25 days. I want to be able to come to class when I want, not feel pressured by a window of time. They are also the only studio I've ever been to that doesn't offer a student discount. The other thing is that this studio can be EXTREMELY crowded. They never cap the number of students and there have been times when I can't even do the poses because there isn't enough space around me. If Zen Spot is making as much money off of their customers as it seems, they should be able to expand their facilities, offer better package options, and get some new instructors. Hopefully someone opens another hot yoga studio in eugene, because they'd make a killing. Until then, I'll have to do without.
