The flowers are always so beautiful and well done. I have never had an issue with the quality of the flowers I've seen coming from them. But there is this women who works there, she is rude, difficult, and generally unpleasant whenever I have to interact with her (no lie, she may be insane). Went in at 1 pm to get a floral arrangement for my daughter's birthday, told them I didn't know anything about flowers, but that my daughter was a "girly girl" and that I'd read that daisies were the April birthday flower. Agreed to spend $40 - $60; I got the impression they were going to put something together. I was asked if I wanted to wait for it or pick it up later; I told them I'd be back at 4 pm - they took my name and phone number and I left. Came back at 4 pm; they acted like they'd never seen me before. Nothing was prepared; they quickly suggested I pick something they had already thrown together - I just left. I really wanted to use Sunflowers for a Fall arrangement and she was able to get them the very next day. I didn't realize the recipient was out of town. These folks are outstanding!! I called in to their shop from out of town to order delivery of an arrangement for a friend facing a cancer diagnosis. The gal I spoke with was wonderfully helpful and patient. When the flowers arrived, the lady to whom I sent them absolutely flipped out, and the arrangement lasted nearly two weeks before she took out some of the fading blooms and replaced them from her own garden. McKinney's Flowers is well respected in this community. I don't often order flowers because I think most florists are way over-priced for what you get. But this was a very special circumstance that I felt deserved a professional touch and I walked away VERY disappointed in my recent order. I called to place an order for my husband who is hospitalized indefinitely and felt like I spared no expense in ordering a lovely fresh flower arrangement, with balloons, to be delivered that day. The person I spoke with was very nice and helped me decide the 'perfect' flowers - mums, hydrangeas, eucalyptus - to brighten his room. My call was at roughly 1:00 pm. I agreed to spend over $80. My flowers were delivered in less than 2 hours and while they were beautiful, the balloons were missing. I called and told them and they were apologetic, offered to bring the balloons to me, which I declined and asked that they not charge me and we'd be good. This was on a Thursday afternoon. By Saturday/Sunday, the flowers looked pathetic. On Monday they went to the trash. These were not exotic flowers! I can't understand why they lasted such a short time. I wonder if this was a pre-made arrangement that had been around several days before I ordered... I'm disappointed because I can go to Target and buy a bouquet that I cut and arrange myself and it will last a week or more. And for far less than the money I spent on this arrangement! read more
