We ordered a king Stearns & Foster. From the beginning we had issues. The store manager /…read moresalesperson lied to us by telling us the streams and foster brand, super expensive box springs were required when buying the mattress or the warranty would be voided. Not being an idiot, it was a red flag. I asked him to verify that and said he would contact his district manager for the paperwork that states that. Dude never got back to me, so I called him...then, magically, "they must have recently changed that policy because it's no longer the case". He at least offered to slightly discount the box springs so I guess that's a positive. Another example was the delivery people told us the mattress wouldn't fit up our stairs despite having another king delivered the week before. Then they unnecessarily made us move furniture out of the way that wasn't required to be moved before. Additionally, they broke our curtain rod trying to get the mattress delivered. The mattress immediately started sagging on the sides and had a high spot in the middle after only about a week. We asked how the return process goes (120 day comfort guarantee) and the store manager was extremely rude and difficult to work with. He demanded photos of the mattress. He then stated he would have to discuss this with his District Manager to get approval and we would be hearing from him when that happened. We called back about a week later, and the same rude manager replied with, "that's not what I said, we aren't waiting on my manager...I was waiting for you to tell me what date you wanted it picked up. So we played his game and gave him a date. He then said it would be a few weeks because he needed to get a "special inspection team" together to go over the mattress to determine if it was returnable. Then proceeded to lecture me on all of the things that would cause it to be rejected in order to "set expectations" for us. We set up a return date for two weeks out. Keep in mind that for our original mattress delivery we never received a phone call or text or any notification of when the delivery was going to take place and had to call to find out. So, with that in mind, I called the evening before around 6:30 PM to see when the pickup for the return would be based on the lack of notification when it was delivered. The sales rep stated he didn't see us on the schedule at all and wasn't sure what had happened. We weren't on the schedule at all, likely because we were never actually scheduled for a return because these guys get paid commission. A $6,000 return would likely affect someone's paycheck, which is likely why it was this difficult at every step. The next day we called again and were told some nonsense excuse like, "what likely happened was the warehouse routes were overbooked, so your return got bumped". What probably happened was the same store manager I had been dealing with just didn't schedule it. Fast forward to yesterday when the mattress was picked up, there was no special team of mattress inspectors...just 2 delivery dudes in a rented box truck like usual. The inspection process consisted of me asking him to take a look at it so we had no issues returning it. He glanced at it and said, "yes...looks fine". Save yourself some trouble and go to the many other good options out there and avoid Mattress Firm.

We didn't want to have an eclectic set of chairs and, thankfully, my wife had done her homework. There are chairs available where you can add or remove the extension; this allows you to have matching chairs where you do not have matching heights for the eating surface. We entered and were greeted by a young man named Dresden. Dresden was personable, professional, and helpful. We had questions and Dresden was honest that he was newer to the store but he would get the answers where he did not know the correct response right away. Yes, we had questions. We had two options to choose from and Dresden let us know that the cheaper option was available sooner for delivery. We decided to have the chairs delivered and got the insurance as we expected the chairs to get heavy use. It was all a great choice. The chairs arrived in sturdy boxes well protected and two men brought them to our second floor apartment where they unboxed the chairs, added the extensions for two of them, and placed them in our apartment. I could not have been happier with the experience, the value, and the options.

She kept taking us to beds we had already to,d her we were not interested in. We are looking for an old fashioned mattress and box springs. I was looking at what she had and she very rudely said she "could" take them down but that we would not be happy and return it in just weeks. She kept trying to engage us in the stupidity computer program and would not help us. We ended up just walking out as she said very sarcastically "well I guess you are not ready to buy a mattress." she missed out on a good sales by being sarcastic and pushy. The most noticeable difference between the two retailers is transparency of price while shopping. Sleep number has a breakdown of pricing on an easy to read sheet, and mattress firm... well... has a salesperson who talks to you. The sales rep at mattress firm was very personable and helpful but also, at times, less than clear on pricing. While trying different beds he continually rambled off figures as different bed manufacturers/models have different offers. While that in and of itself is understandable; the way that sales model is presented to the customer just came across as confusing as there were a few utterances of, "I meant to say." We finally narrowed it down to two beds and ultimately selected the "intellibed - nightfall." (With remote controlled adjustable base) It was the last bed we tried and the most expensive but still cheaper than sleep number. Hands-down, I will say it is an awesome mattress, with a great warranty for both the mattress and the base. Financing options were great too (0% for 60 months). Lastly, delivery was a bit of a comedy. Apparently they contract out delivery of their mattresses. I drew that conclusion from the fact they showed up in an enterprise rental truck, and didn't have uniforms. While they managed to get everything upstairs to our bedroom, it was not without a lot of stumbling, banging against walls, and near falls. This mattress is made of very heavy material and is obviously large/unwieldy (being a king) so this is not an indictment of the delivery guys themselves but mattress firms delivery protocol. Why would you have two (20 something year olds) try to manhandle such a heavy/large mattress? For a consistent customer experience it may be worth hiring professional movers that are capable of handling large items. Both delivery guys were polite, personable, and did their best to successfully get the mattress upstairs and put together. However, with all of the banging against walls, dragging on the floor, etc. I could see how other customers might complain. Overall, I gave 3 stars because the price, financing, and quality of the product are all good, but the customer experience in-store and upon delivery is less than polished.
