That's not to say I hadn't been to chiropractors before. I likened it to when your fingers develop that strange pain that only resolves by bending them into unnatural positions until they eventually pop. I figured having someone do the same to my back and neck might offer some relief. And it did--albeit temporarily. For some context: I worked a desk job from home for almost 10 years. Yes, I had a standing desk. Yes, I tried all the tricks: standing, sitting on a large exercise ball (that one was dangerous), using an under-desk treadmill, and probably countless other things over the years. In 2020, we started a woodworking business, which meant I became a lot more physically active. Yet, the back issues, hip pain, and increasingly frequent migraines remained. I figured it was just part of aging--the price I paid for not living in the 11th century and dying in my 30s of something modern medicine could now treat with an over-the-counter pill. What finally led me to try Transcend Chiropractic and NUCCA was my wife, Rebecca. She has a way of talking me into things. Long story short(er), she woke up one morning unable to stand or walk. She'd suffered a significant spinal cord injury called Transverse Myelitis. It took weeks of physical therapy, determination (I call it stubbornness), and a lot of work for her to regain mobility. She wrote her own review elsewhere, which you can read, but suffice to say: after beginning sessions with Transcend Chiropractic, her walking, range of movement, and overall healing improved significantly. The results were enough to make me think, "Maybe relief doesn't come from a store. Maybe relief... perhaps... means a little bit more." (Forgive me--it's post-Christmas, and I stole that from The Grinch.) Dr. Conner and Dr. Leigh have been wonderful. They explained how the spine aligns, the role of the atlas vertebra, and how its misalignment can throw off the rest of the spine. Eventually, we settled on a treatment plan involving full decapitation. I've never felt better. (If you're still reading, don't worry--no amputations have been performed, despite my wife's occasional dismay.) In all seriousness, though, the migraines are almost entirely gone. Hip pain only flares up if I fall out of alignment, which happens less and less these days. I've even canceled my "subscribe and save" orders for Tylenol and Ibuprofen. Beyond the physical improvements, what truly sets Dr. Conner and Dr. Leigh apart is their genuine care for their patients. They embody the same principles I try to follow in my own business: treating every client with kindness and respect. * * * * * Five stars--would recommend. PS. Here, with x-rays, I was able to see the problem. I was presented with an exercise plan to help fix my back issue. With regular adjustments for two months and DAILY exercise as prescribed, there is no question I'm better now than when I started this. Personally I recommend a chiropractor like this to address a long term fix, (identify the problem) and schedule your periodic adjustment when you need it, as you need them, in parallel. If you're committed to sticking with an exercise regimen, it can pay off. It worked for me.

Story time for context: two stressed-out parents of a recent newborn baby are trying to find any and all relief for their kiddo that has a myriad of issues thus far, including reflux, discomfort, trouble sleeping, irritability, etc. and while many will say "oh that's normal", we now have identified a dairy and soy allergy with reflux issues that require 2 meds. so please save the general commentary there. Anyway, to the business... We got an appointment pretty quickly. Reception at the time was pretty nice to start (spoiler alert, goes way downhill from there). FYI to us and you: you will have to do "orientation" and a follow-up to this before they want to do anything. 2 billable visits before any work OR a system? You be the judge. After some persistence one of the staff was at least willing to make an initial adjustment based on the preliminary scan. After visit one things started escalating. While we were willing to go by the "system" and schedule the follow-up visit we were also desperate to try to have someone continue what was already identified. Long story short, we were refused in that moment for no other reason that could be made known other than to just have it go by the "system". After visit 2 we were done and gave up. Fast forward to a day or two later and we were called back to come in and do the first official treatment after "orientation". We go to the appt as scheduled, only to be (rudely and sternly) told as we arrive that we were not on the schedule. And after the long and cry-filled 40-minute drive we had to get there, it was the last straw. Once we finished with a feed and prep to go we said to cancel everything and to just not bother calling back. Not soon after we got home we got a call from one of who I suspect would have been a founder physician. Long story short, we just agreed to move on and not bother in spite of someone finally at the end trying to understand what's going on. Anyway, after all of the story time here i'll just say: if you have a problem mild enough to endure 2-3 unnecessary visits for something that could be organized into a better "system" then more power to you. We went somewhere local and were tremendously satisfied - that i might add, started treatment after orientation on the same day (proving it is indeed possible to have a practice care and not overwork you to get money). Take it for what it's worth. Remaining positives at least to hightlight. +1 - venue and vibe - was clean, comforting and nice furniture +1 - location and parking - far away for us, but was in a nice place with plenty of parking nearby
