I live in Boston, but have a rental in Dover, and after searching in vain in Massachusetts for a landscaping company that will let me shovel gravel or dirt into my car to take away myself, I have come to the realization that it is worth it for me to drive to NH just for this stuff! Great example... I just got about a tenth of a yard of drainage stone, and 0.4 yards of superloam for an above ground garden. If I were to go to a box store or nursery, and get this in bags, it would cost more than $50. All the landscape companies I contacted in MA either required at least a purchase of 4 yards for delivery, or would only sell as little as half a yard, ONLY if you have a truck into which they can dump it. And even if they did let me buy it, the prices would have come to $40. I got the job done through Sherwood for $10, and with some of the friendliest folks I have had the pleasure of working with. I have gone to them several times, and am always impressed and happy that I got to work with them. My only complaint is that they don't have more varieties of rocks/pebbles. But all in all...this is a winner.

I give 2 stars because they are consistent in showing up weekly and when we need the snow removed. Unfortunately thats as far as it goes. Maintaining a property is important but when your equipment is too heavy and you drive too fast and have total disregard for the people's (we do pay your salary) property and gardens who live there I find them less than desirable. Owners here try very hard to make the landscape around their property beautiful throughout the growing season and I think there should be more respect and care from those using riding mowers and riding blowers. Its nearly impossible to grow grass in places surrounding the units because the equipment comes in and tears it up. Its very frustrating because that comes out of the owners pockets and not by our association fees.

They took a large overgrown mound with thick weeds in our front yard and created an amazing landscaped gem with healthy beautiful new planting, raised stone patio, retaining wall, fire pit and new turf installation. Saved and featured some great plants that were just so covered they couldn't be enjoyed for years and created one of a kind rock features as well using reclaimed rocks dug up from the patio area. The team was so hard working, very thoughtful and had our neighbors raving about their work and said they'll be missed now that the project is done.
