We went in to buy a suit and accessories for our son's wedding and waited over 20 minutes and the lack of interest was astonishing. They never measured him properly. what should have been fun event left a bad feeling. Me being me, I drove 4 hours from Maine to a wedding north of Killington and, yes, I forgot to pack my suit. I had little more than an hour to figure out what to do. I raced to Rutland and parked illegally in front of McNeil & Reedy. I went in and one of the salesmen had just finished with another customer. I told him I needed to leave with a suit, shirt, and tie, in less than 10 minutes. He set me up that quick and I (barely) made it to the wedding on time. (I didn't have time for them to hem the pants but, luckily, did have some other pants that I could wear). I was very impressed with the service and assumed I also got a quality suit, shirt, and tie for my $600 and had a great time at the wedding. The next day I looked more closely at what I bought. The $39 tie is 100% silk. Nice. I don't know how to judge a quality shirt but it's a plain, white, dress shirt that's 88% polyester and 12% Spandex made in Indonesia. They charged me $138 for it. The 3 pc. suit, for $399, has only 43% wool and the rest is mostly polyester and was made in China. I am very surprised and disappointed that they would even have such products in their store. My (2 pc.) suit that I left home I had bought online last year for $120 on sale from Jos. A. Banks and it's 70% wool. I am very glad that they were there and were able to bail me out of my mistake. And the service was fantastic. I am just very disappointed in the quality vs price of the products that they sold me. read more

I have a wedding I needed a suit for. Me being me, I waited until two weeks before the wedding to do my suit shopping. Being new to the area, I had no idea where to go. I found McNeil and Reedy on Apple Maps. After reading the reviews, I decided to give them a call to see if they could fit me in (so to speak). They told me I could come right in and get fitted. Casey was great! He walked me through all my options and made sure I got what I needed. This is a family business that truly takes pride in what they do. WOW we were so impressed with the service at McNeil & Reedy! This place is amazing... they have everything you need from casual to formal wear and pricing is very reasonable. My boyfriend forgot his tux at home in CT and we were in desperate need of a black tie suit for a wedding later this afternoon. I called in and spoke with John McNeil, he put a suit aside for pick up and tailored it same day for us. The service is impeccable and they're so knowledgeable when it comes to fit and colors. This is the rare business now a days and let me say I have reviewed only2 business on yelp..... period. Maybe a fault of mine but I just don't write reviews but I just have to in this case. They are very good at their craft, prices are unbelievable for what you get, friendly, knowledgeable and fast. This isn't supposed to be possible! Small town friendly with big city selection and quality, I am simply amazed with what just happened: I had literally 2 hours to get ready with a nice suit - they pulled it off so well I bought 2! Do yourself a favor, buy your nice and nicer clothes here and definitely if you need a suit. Simply above and beyond is all I can say. Thank you McNeil and Reedy. I love this store, it's not all glitz, new and sterile. It's vintage feel with fantastic touches (one dressing room has a weight scale in it), flat and angled mirrors so you can use the reflections to see how you really look. Then there are the brothers McNeil who are totally professional, genuinely nice people who take their time, fit you properly and even help you step outside your normal comfort and tell you honestly if you can carry it off. James and John a very good at their craft and very talented. Both have a great rapport with their clients, they both possess wry senses of humor. They have really nice merchandise at very competitive prices plus you get their expertise, they offer alterations and bend over backwards to make sure your pleased and feel good as to how you look and feel in your new duds.
