It is usually absolutely packed and far too hot and guys think its ok to grab you walking past as well. The drinks are cheap but you struggle to find seats and tables after 9pm over the weekend. The music is usually so loud that you often have to shout as loud as you can to talk to your friends. Although this is one of the better pubs, once it starts filling up you know its time to move onto another place!

The pub has an upstairs and downstairs, though upstairs is usually only busy during the summer. The place was refurbished a few years ago after a fire but it's very grubby and dingy and the toilets have to be given a miss. Downstairs is the main area which has a fair sized dancefloor with a small stage area and there's a small door fee to get in on Friday/Saturday nights. The walls are covered with newspapers and magazines from bygone days and there are a few small flat screen tvs around the main area that sometimes show films, though you can never hear the sound they're a nice distraction when waiting to get served at the bar. Theres seating in one area of the dancefloor where the dj booth used to be and more couches and tables up on the split level. The bar serves a wide range of spirits, shots and alcopops though the prices are slightly higher than other pubs in town. Friday night is now Kiss N Kill night which is a very popular music night with a dj set and then a live band playing. There's nearly always a live band on a Saturday night too. Who's playing is advertise in the local paper The Stornoway Gazette on the Thursday previous. The pub is very grubby feeling as are the ladies toilets (not a nice experience) Downstairs is usually packed with older regulars. And staff aren't always the friendliest either up or downstairs. Prices are comparable with the rest of town, but this is one place I like to miss on a night out.

Our food arrived in about 15 minutes and included a small salad and two pieces of bread. I though my meal was excellent. It came hot and you could really taste the smoked haddock. My wife thought it had excellent flavor but would have liked more haddock. Still, she said the taste was very good. We hurried out because I was very concerned about negotiating the single track road and narrow bridges at night in the rain. We took it easy and made it back with no issues.
