This is an awesome venue. It's spacious - with three floors and an outdoor area. I attended the Westword Feast and even with the hundreds and hundreds of people there, it never got horribly uncomfortable. The restrooms are clean and plentiful and there are a lot of windows with great views of downtown. I had a great time at that event and that's in good part due to the great venue.

I had never heard of the McNichols building until the Denver (Only) Beer Festivus. But, it is definitely not a place to be overlooked. It's centrally located and so pretty! It is a lovely event space, whether you are planning a festival such as this one or something more intimate like a wedding. The sound was also pretty good here which is important for big crowds or music. It wasn't so loud or echo-y that it was hard to talk, but the music and voices filled the room comfortably. Drinking inside is definitely not a problem, but I'm not sure about food as the festival only had food trucks. However that worked out just fine for the venue so it could be an option if you are considering hosting an event at this space.

Here we are, post wedding, and as promised I will update my review. It was fabulous. Possibly the best venue I could ever imagine for my wedding. Tim Taylor was so wonderful to work with. Very accommodating and kind. He works with his daughter, Alexa Taylor, on occasion and we hired her as our day of coordinator. She was fabulous! Our catering coordinator and Tim got along great and the whole day was flawless. The space was large but felt intimate, modern but vintage. We have some beautiful photographs from the place and I can't imagine a better venue for our wedding. I highly recommend it!

The McNichols Building is such a hip place for an event! Situated near the Denver County Courthouse and down the hill from the Capitol, you really couldn't ask for a better location in Denver. Vibrant and unique, the spaces here simply exude cool. I've had the pleasure of attending a few events at the McNichols building, most recently for a wedding reception. I loved the fabulous art adorning the walls, which created a neat backdrop for a classy affair. I love this fabulous space!

We parked on Bannock for $2/hour and it was a very short walk. It's family-friendly but also makes for a unique date night. The Food Truck: They have food on site separate cost and the ginger tea and empanada I had were the perfect waiting for my turn snacks. The Guides: This was my favorite part. The people running the telescopes are so friendly and informed. They aren't just reciting facts; they are genuinely passionate about what they do. They explained how Jupiter has 70+ moons and showed us four of them. I'll never forget the rotten egg moon the one that smells like sulfur! Price & Timing: It's only $5 per person. You get a 30 minute timeslot, which is plenty of time to rotate through all 8 or 9 telescopes and see the Moon's craters and the planets. Overall: If you're visiting or just live nearby, go check this out! It's cheap, fun, and you learn so much without having to drive far out of the city. The light show is timed throughout the day and I arrived like 45 minutes early, so I had plenty of time to explore their "downstairs area." Tons of free arcade games. I played Pac-Man and whatever game it is where you shoot aliens. There is also a car racing game. There is an old school basketball game hooked up to an old TV. They have a large projector screen hooked up to a Nintendo switch with Mario and Zelda games. I actually really enjoyed coloring in the many coloring books they had. They have retro, funky furniture, fun decorations, and merch for sale. The light show itself is a fun time! No videography or photography during, but they do a basic show at the end so people can take photos and videos. You can lay on the floor or back in a pew on one of the many fluffy stuffed pillows and watch and meditate. They have great stoner music too (think Pink Floyd). And of course, the chapel itself is beautiful. No partaking in cannabis while in the building. They keep it family friendly (there were toddlers there when I went, but they were well behaved). They have multi-denominational church services a couple times a month where people can use cannabis. There is a lot of nearby street parking, as it's kinda in a residential area, though I took a Lyft. Also a mile or less walk to some of the main food and bar sites on Broadway.

Both ends mirror each other with a large Colonnade. This Voorhies Memorial was named for John N.P. Voorhies, the benefactor of this project. His money helped finish off the structure at the north end of the park in around 1919. The Colonnade is made up of Sandstone and Granite. Sculptors Arthur and William Fisher designed this memorial. The Sea Lions in the pool is also a part of this memorial. It was designed by Robert Garrison and installed in 1922. We walked in through the south entrance and gazed into the distance to the southern entrance of the park. It is a pretty spectacular view! We looked around the park and made our way to the northern end. First off, I saw the pond, it was interesting to see cherubs on the backs of the Sea Lions. Then, I had to take a second look at the heads on posts. They do seem out of place, but it brought more interest to the area! These are actually the Chinese Zodiac animals. I didn't know these were here. Why? Because the animal heads are on tour! They were designed by Ai Weiwei. It is called "Circle of Animals". They have been created in Bronze. It was cool to see these animals there! Since this collection is on tour, I don't know how long they will be here or where they'll be headed next. It was a pleasant surprise to see this while exploring the park! If you are nearby and want to see this installation, do it while it is here!
