I'm just a home handy-man but this is the one place I can always rely on to have exactly what I need at a good price. I get better prices here than at Amazon, Home Depot, and Lowes. Instead of buying pre-packaged with more things than I need, MDI sells just the parts I need. The counter-sales people are really sharp, very friendly, and are great at solutions to home repair problems. Love, love Marion Davis in Easley. Very knowledgeable and friendly when we were remodeling a bath. Whether you need new fixtures or a part for a fixture, they are fabulous. I'm always amazed at what they sell there. I'm also amazed at the education one can get there. Being a bit on the nerdy side, I love when someone takes the time to explain to me how things work or why we may need or may not need a part. It's also one of the best people watching places I've ever been too in this area. They have a long counter/bar with stools where you can wait to speak with someone or to order a part. I've had the most interesting conversations there. If they served grey goose and cranberry, I'd visit more often just for the show. read more

This is such an eclectic place: plumbing, electrical and lighting all located in a non-descript 1950's building. Better pricing than that found on-line, yet with very knowledgeable and personable staff. For example: lighting department has a better selection than that at a Greenville store with 5x the devoted floor-space. I have purchased numerous products from MDI; however, they have lost my business interest. Do not place an order and pay for it over the phone. I purchased a TOTO toilet and supplies as a gift and the person picking it up paid for it a second time. They do not listen and communicate well. I did get my payment back after a long conversation. Save your money and time and find an alternate resource. read more
