New Westminster Farmers Market has such an awesome selection of vendors each week…read more I'd been wanting to try Twins Donuts for quite some time and when I found out that they were going to be at the New Westminster Farmers Market I just had to make it over there! I brought home 4 donuts: Oreo, Ube Coconut, Leche/Dulce Flan and Apple Pie. These donuts were scrumptious! I love how generous they were with the fillings. There was so much filling spilling out when I cut these donuts. While I was at New Westminster Farmers Market I also bought a few truffles and a Caramel Crunch chocolate bar from Drunken Chocolatier . They have such interesting flavours. Coconut Sambal truffles for instance...I've never seen any other place selling a Coconut Sambal truffle! Lots of crunching to be heard when we ate the Caramel Crunch so it definitely lived up to its name! Their chocolate truffles look so picture perfect. "Artisan" chocolate is an apt description for these chocolates as they really are a work of art. I was impressed already by the chocolates they were selling at the New West Farmers Market. I'm sure I'd been even more impressed if I went to their store on W Broadway.

You can also bring your own anything - bowls, boxes, whatever. We had to cross the street and walk about 100m to get to the picking area. Blueberries and currants were in season as well. Raspberries grow at eye level so I find them much more comfortable to pick. We were able to get just under 15 pounds in 20-30 minutes, and paid ~$45. The berries themselves were delicious. They also have a store with pre-picked fruit, and a variety of drinks, produce, and other items for sale. The parking lot is mostly shaded by trees, which is great for hot summer days.

They had raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, blueberries and red currants for u-pick. They also has a market with these berries that were pre-picked if you prefer not to pick yourself. The price of u-pick is $3.50/lb. My mum and I ended up with 10.5 pounds of strawberries and blueberries (combined). This place is so gorgeous because they also had a shady area set up with some tables to hang out. There's also a mini kid friendly playground. Plus a food truck on site? Hell yeah!

The "Taste of the Market" event is always organized before the Christmas season each year. I always enjoy the vendors' products, such as cheese, cooked foods, chocolate, olive oil, cured meats, desserts, and more. This event is really fun! Each product is unique and delicious, and we get to try small bites from every vendor. This year, all the vendors' foods were excellent. I especially enjoyed Mt. Lehman Cheese's aged cheddar, Those Pretzels, Lepp Market's turkey cranberry sausage, Grass Roots' smoked cheese, Madame Loïk's whipped cheese, Callister Craft Soda, Centennial's cookie dough spread, Fraser Valley hazelnuts, Charlie Ivy's olive oil, and a cranberry spread served on top of nachos (unfortunately, I forgot the vendor's name).
