Love supporting local farm markets!! This is another great example of local community supporting their own farmers! Produce & meats are always seasonally fresh and with lots of organic options, you will for sure find the perfect ingredients here! I especially love their "Hopcott's Own" ham & smoked pork hock!! Great for special occasions and the bone from the pork hock makes perfect Ham & Pea Soup!! Yum!! Staffs are always friendly and helpful, come out and spend a relaxing afternoon at their bistro then pick a few items for dinner!!!

Why we've been to this place to buy produce and meats a few times before but never bothered to check out the restaurant until today confused me especially when the foods are awesome!!! I had beef brisket sandwich with coleslaw on the side and it was heavenly (copying from another Yelper's review of this place). I devoured my meal in 5 minutes. My friends copied each other and ordered hamburgers With grilled pineapple. They were as pleased as I was! We kept asking ourselves why we haven't done this before. We were blaming each other. This place is an authentic slice of what Vancouver food scene is all about, fresh, fun, fancy yet down to earth, lively and tasteful. The service was delightful. I didn't check if they have desserts. Maybe gelato will Be a welcome addition. Paging the Hopcott siblings (yes we read your family history). We salute all of you and what you do to our community.

I LOVE this place. It's mostly a grocery store but they have a little bistro in the back. We had the Big Kahuna and the Original with Chili. The food here is consistently good. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed the perfect weather and view. Service is always friendly. Would recommend checking it out after a hike or on a sunny day!

Dinner yesterday - corned beef & veggies.

The daughter was in Pitt Meadows a while ago, and while shopping/browsing in the area had the opportunity to stop into the 'Hopcott Meat Store'. A first time experience, and it resulted in the purchase of a large, and beautiful piece of 'corned beef'. When purchased, she was told the meat still required a few more days of marinating, before it was cooked. She followed the butcher's advice, and when ready to prepare, cut one piece for herself, and the rather good-sized roast left was gifted to us. Yea!! Our piece was prepared for yesterday's dinner. Wow, seeing and tasting corned beef once again sure brought back some fond memories -- from early-childhood, when my Nana liked to prepare 'corned beef & cabbage' for us, and much more recently, as an adult, when I lived in Newfoundland & Labrador, and enjoyed several 'Jigg's Dinners'. I prepared our roast much as my Nana (born in NL), and the other cooks did in NL -- the 'old-fashioned' way -- on the stove top, in a stock pot, immersed in water, and simmered slowly. Attempting to re-live past experiences, and consulting recipes before I prepared our roast, "slow & steady" appeared to be the way to a tasty and tender corned beef roast. The method sure worked well. And with some green cabbage, potatoes, and carrots on the side, we enjoyed a touch of Jigg's Dinner last night. Our thanks to daughter, and 'Hoycott Meats' for providing the dinner treat.

Came here with B and E. I was told we were going to the Farmer's Market. I actually pictured us going to a Farmer's Market that involved many different vendors. So Hopcott Premium is very similar to the Farmer's Market. It sells everything inside. They have meat, vegetables, snacks, soap, cheese, deli, flowers and etc. The meat at Hopcott are decent priced and high quality. If you like, you can even get an entire cow here and have it delivered to your house. WOW. We also ended up having lunch here. I got the turkey bacon panini and it was super delicious. I really liked the seeded bread. The bread was sweet tasting. Overall, I highly recommend coming here for a visit yourself. It won't disappoint.

    Interesting selection of pickles.

I've bookmarked Hopcott for sometime now as it's nearby and I enjoy country stores and supporting local merchants. It's a fairly big store on Old Dewdney Trunk where the locals drive to avoid Lougheed. They have a small selection of independently produced pantry goods (some local) like jams and pickles that are fairly expensive. They also have take home frozen foods like pizzas and shepherd's pie that are reasonably priced. I bought some sandwich meats but I forgot to ask if they made them. So far the honey ham is tasty and not too salty as some of the commercial pre-packaged ones tend to be. They also have beef and chicken bones in the frozen section so I have to keep that in mind when I make my bone broths. Their main business seem to be the gigantic selection of seemingly top notch fresh meats. They're very expensive and I would only consider buying some prime cuts for special occasions. The produce section is in a tiny room in the front of the store and contrary to the meats, the selection is rather pathetic and most are pre-packaged. Unfortunately when we got there, their cafe at the back is closed. Perhaps we'll come back and hopefully get to try its offerings someday.

I love this shop! One of the best places to pick up your meat. The beef is exceptional just like every other product they sell. You will find high quality pork, chicken and deli selections ! The BEEF is what I come for.. they dey age everything for at least 25 days. If you don't know the difference in wet aged steaks you get from most butchers and grocery stores from dry aged meat you have got to give it a try!!! ! 60oz tomahawk steak to a beautiful medium rare. Also my first time doing it sous vide and finished with a blow torch and butter ! with a side of roasted beets, and seasoned potatoes in bacon fat and grilled sweet peppers, asparagus and green onions also brushed with bacon fat and seasoning.

    Dirty tables :(

Highlight -- the chicken drumsticks -- they were absolutely 'the' best I have had the pleasure of preparing in such a good long while So fresh, and plump. And whether roasted, fried, grilled, or steamed (and over time, I prepared them in each of those ways) -- the result was the same - so flavourful and tasty!! I did not find anything particularly special about the imported potatoes. But they were fresh, and made some rather decent mashed potatoes a couple of evenings, and were 'ok' on the griddle, and baked the rest of the time. The onions were fresh, firm, and to date, have provided some nice slices with burgers, and in other sandwiches, and such. But those wonderful drumsticks .... more please!!!

We will pay more for Canadian or do without until we find Canadian grown produce, or failing that, ABUS, Anywhere But United States. We are extremely disappointed in the seemingly increasing amount of US products we are seeing at LFM, and the number of people who grab them without looking or caring. This is supporting a country that is trying to wipe Canada off the map, and own us. We refuse to help them. We're bringing this to the attention of our friends and we're all looking for other places to buy our produce until LFM puts more support into Canadian growers and less into the US. Until then, we'll be avoiding what has been our favourite produce store. And that is really unfortunate.

If you buy meat here, the butcher will take you to the counter and have the payment process there. I shop here quite frequent and have tried many different types of their meat already. I do find that they sometimes have really good deal if you sign up for their newsletter. There was this one time I was here shopping and I decided to grab my meat first and I told the butcher that I am going to do other shopping and will be back to pay. The other butcher saw the meat sitting at the cashier and put it back. When I went to pay, it was not there but the butcher apologized and didn't realize that I was going to come back. The butcher also gave me two free complementary pork chops. That was really nice of him. So it is better to do all your shopping first and save the meat visit last. I like this place and definitely will be back.
