Well, fortunately, my friends thought that it would be a great idea to have a meal here, and that was certainly one awesome idea. It is sort of like a pub, but a pub that has a rotating menu, and the reason for this is because they have food trucks come in on a regular basis, and other than the Mr Burger truck, you never know what is going to be here . Now, that is cool. Oh, and they also have a great selection of tap beers as well.

The seating is comfortable and the decor provincial, so if it's ambience you're after; first thing on a Monday morning you'll certainly get it....but for coffee that represents the 'culture' that Melbourne is renowned for, it again misses the mark. On the other hand, the banana bread toasted I am more than happy to recommend; the butter is warmed so that one doesn't 'rip' the bread apart trying to spread it on. Three out of five ain't too bad for this place. The staff I think could try to be more friendly, but it is Monday morning, so maybe a slight concession can be given in that case. Consider Jasper Coffee for the 'occasion' not the 'taste'.

The first time I came here I ordered a hot chocolate with a lemon & sugar crepe. The crepe was great, sweet and tasty- the hot chocolate was not. They go on about using some special fair-trade organic chocolate or something, but I just wanted a normal hot chocolate. This drink was pretty bad, to the point I just left it half full. It was bitter and just tasted like someone added milk to grounded cocoa. My sister got the ice chocolate (which looked amazing), but was just as bad. I would come back for the coffee (which was fine) and the crepes, but never the hot choc.

Part of a cluster of laid back venues away from the Port Vegas end of the burb, it feels like something of an oasis - being set across the road from the Pepper tree lined park at the 109 North Port tram stop. The building has a certain historic cham, once a corner store, possibly a grocer - the buildings in this area are some of Melbourne's oldest, dating back to the mid 1800's. Station Street's old iron verandah arches over the pavement tables and hanging baskets swing cheerfully above them. Across the road in Raglan Street, a local institution, the Railway Hotel, serves up beer, red wine, steak and horse racing to a ruddy cheeked blokey clientele. But at Station Street Trading Co. the menu is small and yet more interesting. I've seen wardrobes bigger than their kitchen, so you'll understand the direction they've taken with the food. Brunch tempters, sandwiches, salads, grills and homemade baked items rule. The little touches like bacon rippled along skewers and grilled tomatoes still on their truss make the food easy on the eye. It's tasty and uncomplicated. The staff are friendly and chatty. So it's easy to while away the time here staring across at the park, especially when the sun's out. A heads up that it doesn't seat that many people indoors, so if you're there on a Wintry weekend and can't get a seat, just use your Yelp Monocle and wander down to Little Rose, New Lots, Pure Pie or My Sister Says. All very fine establishments close by with a certain North Port synergy.

It definitely gives off a more suburban setting - peaceful, less noise, and more greeneries. The cafe is a tiny but quaint place with relatively interesting decors. It's quite simplistic and very Earthy with a lot of wooden furnitures propped around. The staff are all very friendly. It's just a nice place to go to if you want a bit of a change from the city cafes. Will put up another review when I pop back there the next time.

Also, the alley is a smoke free zone, so if you like a cigarette with your morning coffee (or in my case tea) then you are going to have to find some place else. They do serve a pretty decent breakfast, which isn't all that expensive either, though the kitchen doesn't open until 8:00 (which meant that I ended up being in a bit of a rush one morning). The staff are pretty cool, though they can be a little over friendly at time. However I do like this place, and should try coming here more often.

It was definitely worth looking up and I'm pleased to say I became a regular. This place offers great food in a fun, vibrant atmosphere. It is very popular with locals so get in line. The cafe offers a reasonable variety of food and the quality is very good. Although I went there for lunch, I just had to try out their coffee. The aroma is intoxicating and I was not disappointed. The tables are quite close together but I still prefer sitting inside especially in winter.

The avocado was good but not seasoned with anything. The rye was a big over toasted but I did like the combination of goat cheese, pumpkin seeds and pickled red onion. But to be honest, I wasn't very impressed. Very small portion. I was still hungry afterwards. - Lemongrass & tumeric chicken ($14.50 AUD) - cos lettuce, pickled carrot, cucumber, red radish, coriander, sprouts, peanuts and soy lime dressing. It wasn't hot in temperature and the flavour was ordinary. It had a hint of chilli which was nice and was topped with fetta cheese that was quite lack lustre. Staff weren't falling over themselves to serve me either. When they say never judge a book by its cover, sometimes you just need to learn for yourself. Won't return.
