Just getting off from work and the Trouble family must of brought there daughter an electronic piano or some kind of musical instrument and you can hear it through the floor. Mind you they live on the top floor. I just don't get it. You work hard and when you get off from work you don't want to hear someone else noise in your apartment. But I see what they are doing, they put their daughter up to doing bad things. We caught her putting her ear up to our door listening in, she stuck her tongue out at our door while making that teasing sound, she pointed a toy blade at our door. We got all of it. The father had a camera jammer he use when he is going in and out messing with our camera. You get tired of complaining. I guess it will have to be BBB and lawyer. They are so spiteful it's sad. Our quality of life is declining because we work and have to deal with their non-sense and rude child not to mention the mother as well. Otherwise, this place would be wonderful. Maintenance does a great job responding to issues. The leasing office is terrible at answering emails or phone calls. I've gone in multiple times throughout my 16 months there and was spoken to rudely or passed off to other employees to figure out my problems. I never got a straight up answer and was always going through the hassle of getting things handled. They do a terrible job forwarding mail. I've been gone since April 5th and just got my mail last week (December 1) from April-November. I would never go back there due to the awful management. Plus, our electric bill was over $350 a MONTH FOR A 1 BEDROOM/1 BATH. We were told we only have "emergency heat" so that's why. It was such a rip off. read more

She told me that I have two more months with this lease. I would need to give a written notice to vacate. I understand that when a unit is becoming available, the sole goal is to fill it asap so no money is lost. However, when people have questions they want answered you can't simply ignore them and then turn around and say so your ready to fill out the application right? Maintenance - very slow response. Dog park is full of poop and mud. Almost no grass. The worse is that the company does not care. I encourage anyone having problems to report this place to the better business bureau,because I have decided I am. I deleted my review after the new manager had a talk with me and promised everything I had been dealing with for years would be made right. Well that never happened. Don't walk,RUN from this hell hole. They do a really great job at making everything seem really nice and convincing you that you will be very well taken care of. Well after a few months to a year once you have some issues or get a couple electric bills you will see that is not the case. It's insanely expensive and you get treated like dirt once you sign a lease. All of my appliances and sinks are from the 80's - 90's and broken,leaking,cracked,etc. The promise of receiving a free gift (carpet,new appliance,etc.) every year never happened. My carpet began unraveling at the seams within the first year,exposing nails. Their solution was to bend the nails over and put painters tape over it. Your electric bill is done by taking the electric from the entire building and splitting it evenly. So don't bother trying to conserve electricity because youre paying for everyone elses use too. My electric bill was once over $400. The promise of 24/7 maintenance is a joke. I locked myself out once the afternoon before Christmas eve. I called emergency maintenance many times that afternoon & night into the following day having to sleep at a family members house. Finally I had to call a locksmith who charged me almost $500 since it was now a holiday. All could have been avoided if "24/7 maintenance" had answered to just help me and let me in before it turned into a holiday. So don't count on them,they barely ever get back to you in any kind of timely manner. Having a washer and dryer seems great till you realize its an apartment sized old useless set. If you try and wash a towel or pants or anything more than a few small things it will take forever to dry and just smell like mildew by the time it dries. I don't even use it and go to a laundromat. I got stuck here because I was in my early twenties went back and forth between not being able to pay the outrageous rent and utilities AND save money to move/also not being able to find another apartment that takes big dogs. It has been the worst experience of my life. When they told me they were adding an additional couple hundred dollars worth of utilities I decided to make it happen to move and get a house. I had enough. This place should be shut down. Can't wait until my lease is up and I can be out of this nightmare!!! Careless greedy crooks! First of all, shame on these guys for inundating other non-filtered review sites with fake reviews to make themselves look better. This just shows exactly what type of individuals run this place. I lived here for three years because of its proximity to Penn State Abington. The convenience was unmatched for my commute. Rent went up each year, and ended up being in the 1300's when I moved out. Just to be nice, I'll start with the positives: - The dog park is great. There is a ton of space to take your dog on a walk, which is very convenient for dog owners. - The pool is nice if you like to sunbathe or swim. - There is a golf course. If you enjoy golf, it's decent enough to occupy your time. - Same goes for the tennis courts. CON: - Fitness center lacks real weights. The negatives: - The office staff. They are rude, manipulative and deceitful. If you confront them with a problem, they will get defensive and often argumentative. There is very little respect given to tenants and I would consider their behavior to be aggressive to the point of inappropriateness. Future tenant beware: they will be very friendly prior to signing the lease, but that switch flips very quickly once you're locked in. In the three years that I lived there I heard numerous horror stories about the abhorrent behavior of the office staff. - The apartments. I'm not even joking when I say that I have intermittent nightmares that I still live at Meadowbrook. It is really sad, but I will wake up so thankful I don't live there anymore. I need to turn this into a list as well, since there is quite a bit to say. 1. The walls are thin. You can often hear the footsteps of upstairs neighbors, and anytime someone opens the hallway door to the apartments you can hear them walking and the door slamming. 2. The appliances are old and outdated, with no efforts by management to update them. Sure the model apartment looks great, but that is not what you're getting. The microwave was the one installed when the place was built back in the 70's. Same goes with the stove and the bathrooms. We had to buy a microwave because the one in our apartment couldn't heat up a bowl of vegetables after six minutes. Our "laundry room" ended up being a tiny little closet with a very small stacking washer and dryer (which were not even mounted properly). We had our washer/dryer replaced at least four times in three years. Each time they brought a used, beat up replacement that worked for a few months before breaking. 3. The air-conditioning/heating system is horrible. I moved in during the summer, and upon moving in realized that despite running all day, the A/C could not drop the temperature below about 80 degrees. Since the thermostat only showed temps up to 80, which it was almost always stuck at; I can only guess how hot the place actually got. The same goes for the heat. Come winter time we had multiple space heaters going, because despite our heats best efforts, it couldn't keep our bedroom above 45 degrees. All of this overworking of the appliances led to insane electric bills. We ended up buying window units. *****My first month there, our electric was over 600 dollars!!!***** Yes, that's right, running the A/C shot my electric up over 600 dollars. Our average bill in any month that required using the A/C or heat was about 350 dollars. The outdated age of the A/C and heat meant they are absolute power guzzlers, so you're faced with living in a literal hotbox or paying high electric costs. They also broke, a lot. ******Korman Meadowbrook owns the electric service provider******* What does this mean? It means they buy the electricity PPL provides to all the other homeowners and business owners in the area, and then resell it to the tenants AT AN INCREASED PRICE. They are reselling the energy to you, at an increased cost because they control the distribution within the complex. 4. Our electrical closet was a fire hazard. A dark closet, filled with exposed wires draped from the ceiling. An air conditioning unit leaking liquid, at times dripping down EXPOSED WIRES onto the floor. Insulation that looks thirty years old, and one, singular fan blowing into a vent that is supposed to cool/heat a kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms. 5. Insects... Do you know what a house centipede is? Google it before you plan on moving here, because they will soon be your best friends. We have seen 2+ inch house centipedes skittering along the walls. The best part is, they sting. Nothing like leaning back on the couch after a long day and getting stung by a house centipede. It is akin to a wasp sting basically. 6. Ill-maintained fireplaces. We had thirteen pigeons and seven dead squirrels removed from our fireplace because they were too lazy to grate the chimney. I'm actually out of space, and I haven't even listed everything. There was absolutely no communication the unit I was supposed to get they end up not moving out so I couldn't move in and I wouldn't have known if I didn't call just to see if the unit was available for me to view yet. From the moment my husband and I moved in here in 2018 it has been one problem after the other. Upon doing a final walk through, the items that were promised and sworn to by one of the leasing agents to have been completed, were not. An entire ceiling had to be ripped out and ceiling joists needed to be dried before finishing the patch jobs from the water damage. There have been more clogged drains that smell like swamp butt, that are considered normal to these people. As of late, I noticed that my kitchen cabinets were coming out of the soffit. The fix was 8 carriage bolts drilled into the soffit, that did not do the trick. How do you remedy this, you may ask? Put an L bracket on the facia of the cabinets into the soffit. When I asked if Mr. Lindy would be satisfied with this workmanship in his house, there was nothing but trained song and dance responses by the inadequate leasing agents. Currently I am disabled and I have asked for the cabinets to be replaced. The response was, "You can come and pick out another apartment to move into because we do not do kitchen cabinet remodels while residences are occupied." I asked for a straight answer, "So you are telling me that I have to move out of my home and into another apartment while mine is being remodeled. Answer, "You can come and pick out another apartment. I am disgusted and find nothing luxurious about these apartments. In addition, I keep my heat on 68 and I am wearing sweaters in my home and receive $300.00 heating bills. I lived in Meadowbrook for several years. Until the last 18 months I was very happy. The new on site management has changed things for the worse. Amenities such as monthly lunches and breakfasts and weekly community activites have been discontinued. A laundry service has been added (in a complex where every unit has its own washer and dryer. They are raising rents by huge amounts, and yet allowing major issues to go uncorrected. My building flooded 13 times, entering the apartment at least twice. The carpet in the hallway has never been replace and mildew has taken over. Other apartments are dealing with leaking roofs and broken stairways. There is no "luxury" here except in the price you pay! read more

Maintenance takes forever to respond to requests, and half the time and isn't even done right. The rent is high, and they claim and include the gym, but it's open only open random hours which are basically business hours... if you work any kind of normal schedule, you have to pay for gym membership on top of it. The office staff is rude, the sidewalks are spaced randomly and nonsensically, so if you have a pet and are trying to take them for a walk, be prepared to step in mud. I haven't smelled that much smoke since walking down the Las Vegas strip. There are not designated smoking areas and people smoke in their apartments. It seeps into your apartment and gets all in the carpet. The outside lights worked maybe twice in over a year which made for dark and dangerous walks to the car. Abandoned vehicles are repeatedly reported and it takes months before they are ever removed. I've lived in many apartments in several states; this was is the worst since living in the hood. The appliances are cheap; the apartments are not ada compliant. The apartments are overpriced and now they are charging for water but not based off of actual use (#of occupants/sq ft). There is lack of amenities-the pool did not open on time, there is no tennis or golf. They've let the grounds become overrun. No one answers the phone in the leasing office. They screwed up my original lease and instead of notifying me and apologizing, they said I better pay or the bill will be sent to collections. They charged me a ridiculous amount to leave even though I abided by the clauses in the lease. One time when I called corporate, the lady transferred me to pizza place. DON'T RENT THERE! read more

I'm sure that everyone has different experiences, but I find it incredibly surprising that a majority of the reviews here are in such stark contrast to my experience. I have lived in Meadowbrook for 1.5 years, and continue to do so, and my experience has been nothing less than fantastic. Apartment: Our apartment featured new appliances, carpets, washer/dryer, countertops, and light fixtures, among others, upon move-in. In general, the apartment is very clean, does not have much dust, and incredibly nice. We have never had a problem with bug infestation, as some people have claimed in reviews. I have lived in many apartments throughout the country and this is one of the nicer units I've lived in, if not the nicest. The apartment is spacious and comfortable to live in, with large windows and lots of natural light. We rarely hear our neighbors, and the area is generally quiet. The apartment building is older, and thus the HVAC can be finicky. In ours the system is located in the kitchen area, and close to the living room. The kitchen and living room thus are hotter (in the winter) and cooler (in the summer) than the bedroom. It is not really an issue with in the summer, and in the winter can be easily solved by: 1) insulating your windows (costs $5 from Home Depot), and 2) buying a small space heater for the bedroom(s) ($50 or so). Utilities will cost more in the winter, but this evens out throughout the year to what I believe is a totally reasonable average (less than$150/month averaged over the entire year) Having a washer/dryer in the apartment is fantastic. Yes, they are smaller apartment-sized units, as other reviewers have pointed out, but this is the same thing you would have in any apartment with a washer/dryer. It is incredibly convenient. Parking is freely available, and usually is not an issue getting a very close spot unless you come back very very late at night, in which case you will end up parking a little farther away from your apartment (but not much, a couple hundred feet). Maintenance: Once again, I am blown away by what people have written on here and how different it is from our experience. You can submit a maintenance request online (and pay your rent/utilities too!), and usually our request is fixed within the day! Examples of things that have been resolved within the day include: replacing the water filter on the refrigerator, problem with the dishwasher (fixed in less than 2 hours), shelf in the washer/dryer room was warped (replaced). The only thing that took more than a day was a tiny bit of water damage from above unit (replaced drywall and repainted, so this took 2 days). All of the maintenance workers that have come to our apartment have been incredibly courteous, and always made sure to take off or cover their shoes when walking in the apartment, and always cleaned up after themselves. Property: The property is incredibly well maintained! The landscaping is very nice, flowers are planted throughout the year and the trees and grass are groomed. There is a great community garden where you can get a plot and plant vegetables/fruits or flowers. In the winter they will plow the drivable areas and walkways ASAP, and then during the day (while people are at work) they go through and plow the empty parking spots. So, you need to clear out ~ 1 foot width of snow in front of your own car to get out, and then by the time you get home, the parking spots are plowed! I don't know what everyone else is talking about, but it doesn't get much easier than that. I hope this helps someone, I would strongly recommend Meadowbrook based on our experience. I will say that there are three tiers of each apartment, and we have the highest one that has the best appliances, etc. But, the difference between the lowest and highest tier is very small for what the tangible differences in the actual apartments are. Furthermore, compared with other apartments in the area (we looked at many), we believe this to be the best value and one of the nicest! read more

I pay $1285.00 for a vintage, very vintage apartment, something from the 60's I did look at it, but the electric was not turned on, but all the cabinets are rotted out! Oh the power goes on and off, constantly, heard my neighbors both TVs were damaged. I moved in in December, our lobby has never been cleaned, I was told its done at least every other week.( NOT DONE YET) Most good reviews they have the staff write, before you rent, I suggest that they give you a list of complaints at the office. I have heard nothing but complaints when I am walking around, at the gym, any place I Go the tenants they all have the same story. I moved her because I lost my daughter, and needed to have some peace, can't happen here's soon as you think things are fixed you need to call about something else, just go door knocking and ask the neighbors,,, remember you cannot ever win! We have had CONSTANT issues with the management. Once the ownership of this development has changed, things became even worse. Not so long ago management hired some obviously unqualified workers to do some welding work on the parking lot. I came to my car in the morning and noticed that 3 windows of my car were damaged with these hot pieces of metal. They sort of got embedded into the windows of my car by melting into them. It was impossible to remove it. My car is less than 1 year old and this is a $48K car. I was pissed when I figured out what happened and went to management to complain. Management simply gave us a run around. They basically told me that I need to contact the company that did the work and work it out with them. SERIOUSLY? You are the ones who hired them. Take some responsibility for it! I ended up filing a police report and simply contacted my insurance company, so that they would deal with it. Luckily I had full coverage. We have had quite a few problems with the management of this development. As for the condo itself, it is extremely outdated. It probably hasn't been renovated for at least 30 years. Tiles were falling off from walls in our bathroom. I believe that they started renovating some units lately. However, they are also raising prices by a couple of hundred dollars. Let me just say, this place is 100% a ripoff. You will pay so much just to get a really bad apartment. Paid $1400 a month (not counting the $300 water and electric charge they add on per month) to get a literal shit hole. Dirty, small, and moldy with big spiders and cockroaches, and had to put in a maintenance request every week for something. I heard someone say that their apartment flooded with sewer water twice from their upstairs neighbor...just wow. The appliances are also 20 years old and none of the kitchen cabinets work. Oh, and don't even get me started on when it rains, a literal swamp. Every time we complained to them about how bad it was and how much we had to pay they'd say "well these are luxury apartments" yeah okay I'm pretty sure I could find a nicer apartment in north philly, just saying. I get that it's in an upper class area so it's more expensive, but it's just kind of ridiculous. Anyways, if you can afford paying $2000 per month for a one bedroom, then go for it cause you'd probably get one of the nice ones that they renovated with hardwood floors and new appliances. My wife and I moved into Meadowbrook about a year ago. The properties are beautify and there are many free amenities such as health club, swimming pool, tennis, volleyball, etc. There is also a golf course on the property which is a hoot to play. The property maintenance is very good and improvements are ongoing. My wife attends the zunba classes and she and I the book club. The neighbors are great if you are willing to do your part in the hello process. We have lived in many rentals over the last twenty years, but without a doubt this has turned out to be the best facility in it price range in the area. read more

The golf course is a total dump and the staff is so rude, I play golf for my school and the price for golf use to be $10 to allow the team to practice but the greedy rude ignorant management had to get more money and charge $20 because they said 10 wasn't enough, the course is complete trash, don't waste your money. read more

Don't believe the positive reviews. These are most likely put up by management. Don''t even consider these apartments. The charge way over what they provide and will look for every opportunity to rip you off. The ducts are decades old and you can't even use the bedrooms . In summer it gets way too hot and in the winter it gets way too cold. Oh and by the way you pay the management for the utilities, and I think they get a cut from the utility companies, that is why your utility bills will be astronomical. The proximity to a wooded area in the back ensures that you have a centipede and fly problem in the summer months. The floor is made of plywood or something, so you can hear every step your upstairs neighbor makes and you have to walk softly otherwise the downstairs person will be disturbed. Their pool is so dirty that my kid got a skin infection the day after he swam there. Last but not least, since I have been here, there have been at least two swat style police arrests, just in my block. Run from this place. Absolutely not worth it. read more

I moved into Meadowbrook apartments in April 2019. I had to transfer to a new appartment on August 19, 2019 due to a leak and mold in my apartment. I have been complaining to management and maintenance about the leak for almost 7 weeks. I asked that my rent be disconnected because of the conditions I was living in and I was told no. They decided to give me $500 towards my moving expenses and supplies, which only coveded 2 hrs. When I asked the apartment manager 3 days before I was moving, how was she going to pay the movers she said I had to pay and my account would be credited $500. Well low and behold when I went to pay September's rent the $500 credit wasn't applied there was a prorated charge for August on the new appartment. When I tried to explain to her that August rent should have been transferred over from the first apartment she couldn't comprehend what I was saying. I was told by the apartment manager to pay and I would be credited in October. Why should I trust you when you haven't reimbursed me for my moving expenses. RUN DO NOT MOVE HERE read more
