We loved this campground! The upper area had such a fun vibe. Lots of families with kids having fun. We love to be off grid so stayed in the lower area. So beautiful and peaceful. And with a phone call you can order food right to your campsite! I've never experienced that while camping. The baked potatoes were fantastic, and very reasonably priced. We had a really great time and will definitely be staying here again. read more

Fresh lobster, steamers, and all the add ons for a traditional shore dinner cooked to order at a super reasonable price, even delivered to your campsite if you'd like--what more can ask for. Lots of activities and even karaoke and a bonfire on Saturday nights!! read more

I love this place! It's my second time here in a month. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and helpful. The sites that I see are grass or hard dirt and relatively level. The water tastes great. They have golf carts to rent that look fairly new and well kept. They are gas which is a little noisy but overall the campground is quiet. The thing I love most here is the food! They have handsdown the best lobster I've ever had and truly the best baked potato and they deliver it to your site. I noted some complaints of the bathrooms. I am self contained and cannot comment. read more

We stayed here for 7 nights in late June. The folks who manage the property are very nice and want you to enjoy your stay. You can order breakfast, lunch and dinner from their snack shack, including lobster, and they will bring it to your site. We ordered lobster and baked potatoes one night. It was hot and delicious. We participated in their karaoke night and had a fun time. The downside was there was a dog next to our site who barked incessantly. He was directly across from the office so they had to know...oh well. We put up w it...the laundry was fine. For the price, I think it's worth it and close to Freeport, Boothbay and other fun places. If you're looking for a view where it's quiet and serene, you might want to go elsewhere. read more

Sites are not level and "roads" through the campground are very rough. Bathrooms leave much to be desired. This was a real disappointment.

there was a terrible sewage smell and told the owner about it and said it was coming from the woods. we could not open any windows in the camper or have a camp fire. do NOT recommend this place! read more
Nice campground with a heated pool and clean bathrooms. You can get lobster, pizza, etc sent to your campsite. The downsides are that the sites are not very private and there's nobody enforcing quiet hours. Many campgrounds have a staff member go around in a golf cart to make sure campers are winding down after quiet hours begin. Here there are people making a racket as late as 2 am and as early as 5:30. read more

I was recently vacationing in Maine and wanted to spend at least one night camping. Meadowbrook was in the right location and easy to find. It was still early June so I was the only tent camper there. I had one side of the place all to myself. There were several motor homes spread out through the park. Facilities were clean. Shower was hot and had plenty of water pressure. I used the laundry and that was also clean. Many sites had power/water. The folks who run the place went out of their way to accommodate me. Extremely friendly. I would camp here again and would recommend it for both tent and motor homes. read more

The owner is very nice. I think they begin to clean bathrooms regularly "in season". Too bad, this place has such potential but not kept up. read more
Stayed here many times over the years - it's always been reasonably priced, friendly staff, and a good choice of sites available - even on summer weekends. The location is great - equi-distant from a lot of places I visit while I'm up there - Popham Beach, Reid State Park, restaurants in Bath and Brunswick and a relative's house in West Bath. The alternatives, after all, are the beautiful but pricey (and hard to book) Hermit Island and the postage-stamp flood-prone sites at Ocean View. Some of the tent sites can be rather small - a compact car and a 2-person tent is a squeeze. Unlike some campgrounds, the sites are well-separated with trees and shrubbery between sites. And while they're good at curtailing noise in the evening, I wish they'd do something about it in the morning. I had my slumber disturbed a few times by loud children in the very early morning hours. Quiet hours should extend to at least 9am - after all, we're on vacation here. As you leave, there's a rather amusing sign reminding the retiree RV crowd not to forget their wives as they depart. Ahh Maine humor. read more
This place was awesome! My daughters and I stayed in one of the deluxe cabins here five days. It was close to Pompham Beach and Head Beach. It is also not that far away from Portland. We enjoyed the pool in the morning and evening, before and after going to the beach. They also do a lobster and clam bake with corn and baked potato every night. The clams were not scrubbed enough, so they were pretty gritty, but the lobster was good. They have a rec hall with some games and a good size screen to watch movies on. They also do karaoke on Saturday nights, which was very entertaining to watch. Staff is friendly and campers were courteous. We already picked out our campsite for next year! read more

Great people. Chris the owner will bend over backwards to make your stay comfortable. Most of the sites are nice and with fair separation from other campers. The bathrooms are clean with coin showers. They have activities for kids along with a pool, and a playground. The campground also has a small store with propane refill. read more

Very friendly staff, spacious sites, quite, out of the way, no thrill campground. The roads to the sites are very bumpy, no need to worry about the 5mph speed limit. The water has a strange odor, so bring your water filter to help cut down on the odor. Live lobster swimming in the lobster tanks in the office, and they will cook and deliver to you site around dinner time. The price for the cooked lobster is reasonable. Gifford ice-cream also available at the camp store/office. They will also deliver firewood to your site. Paid wifi, available, The rec hall has beer available. read more

Let me start by saying the people are very friendly and the food is ok. You can get cooked lobsters brought to your campsite(11.99 a pound)which is a nice perk). However this place could use some serious updating, and soap and water. The bathroom is adequate but could use a coat of paint and disinfectant the doors have a sticky gross residue and the floors are muddy and cracked. Before we left 2 of the 4 toilets were clogged and unusable. The pool is in need of a new liner, decking, and better lounge chairs (very old and cracked). They might want to consider 2 dumpsters in each area in busy season since the trash was over flowing with bags and garbage all around the dumpster and really smelly and unsightly. I brought my grandson to the playground, it's rusty old and appears not safe. The seesaw is a splinter factory, the play boat has a long rusty screw sticking out of it and it's so dirty and falling apart I didn't want him in it. The reviews from 5-10 years ago make it sound like a completely different campground. I think the owner may be getting too old to keep up with things. But if your stopping over for 1 night it's fine but anything more then that is a waist of good money. Overall my opinion the place is a dump. read more

We camped here for 2 weeks. Had a wonderful time. Everyone is very friendly and ready to help in any way possible. Food was delivered right to your site, and very good! Also have Karaoke, lot's of fun!!! Bathroom was very clean. Only suggestion would be to put down topsoil and grass seed on the rooted sites. Not good if you have feet issues. All in all, it's a wonderful place, I highly recommend it. Excited to go back! read more

My daughter and I had one of the tent sites for our end of summer spree. It was great! I read reviews while planning the trip, and here are a couple of things that I could add: this place is quiet. Very quiet. It may have been because it was only about half full and weekdays, but I was happy with the quiet. Also, this entire peninsula has no street lamps and millions of trees, so be prepared for extreme darkness. I wish I'd brought an extra lantern. I personally loved the tent sites. Each one has a stone fire pit, which is nice, but you may want to bring a grill if you want to cook over the fire. We made do with moving the rocks. The showers were very clean and there was plenty of hot water, even when there were 4 showers going at once. The people were very nice and helpful. I would definitely go there again. read more

You can NEVER go wrong with a camp ground that lets you pick your own lobsters.... you go... set up your camp.... pick out some lobsters....let them know what time you want dinner...short walk to get your dinner...bring it back to your own little piece of paradise and enjoy. Hubby got 3 lobsters and a pound of steamers and was in HOG heaven. I myself had a thick cut NY strip slow cooked over some hot coals cooked medium just how I like it and of course... I brought my own A-1 sauce cause you KNOW that is how a steak is done....and I even dipped my steak in some drawn buttah...and some walmart packaged corn on the cobb...literally the best I ever had...coulda been the scenery...coulda been the woman vs. wild thing.... nothing like a hot cup of percolated java in the morning... the last thing that I knew of anything percolatin was my tummy when I had a bad case of food poisoning awhile ago...but I'll tell you what....nothin better tastin and feelin' than me and my loved ones as natured out as this city girl gets....with nature, beach, smell of campfire and a snuggly two man tent. There is a pool, general store with Gifford's Ice Cream and something you don't see often....genuinely nice people. They really want you to enjoy your communion with nature..you can't beat this place for some serious quiet time if you want it, food, scenery, and just the right amount of interaction with folks on the same page as you.... a thousand thumbs up....will be going back asap! ps...need to mention Ft. Popham beach, and all the surrounding forts...wicked cool....totally can feel the past...not to mention got tons of orb pics. Spiritually SPOOKY.. LOVED it. read more

Man, I loved this place. We just spent two nights here in July, and I read these reviews and wanted to add a few things. Do not overlook that this campsite is located on a pond! it's at the back of the campground and there are canoes and kayaks for rent. Wish I had known that before the morning we left! We went elsewhere for our lobster, and after comparing prices, I'd go ahead and recommend getting your lobster right here. It's clean and well taken care of, and they have a lot to do, especially if you've got your kids with you. One of the nights we were there they had karaoke, and that was pretty solid entertainment. This campsite is perfectly snuggled in an area that is equidistant from all of the local beaches, forts, and other attractions. Cons are few but present. We paid extra online for a nicer campsite, but I did notice that many of them were rather small sites. The bathrooms are closed from 11-2 so not a ton of sleeping in (not that we did much of that anyway). Quiet hours aren't strictly enforced at night, and they only have one bath house so you have to walk a ways from your campsite often times if you need to use the toilets, etc. Bottom line, I'd recommend this place, especially if your camping crew is smaller, as mine was. (We tent-camped, by the way). read more
I'm with Lana D. on this review.... what's not to love about a campground that cooks lobster dinners for you? Visited this campground again a few weekends ago and quickly remembered why I liked it so much. SUPER friendly staff, CLEAN bathrooms, good size sites, heated pool and lobster dinners cooked for you at a time you choose. The only thing better would be if they delivered it to your site.... maybe someday! Plenty to do nearby including Popham beach, kayaking @ seaspray kayaking in West Bath, and sailing over on Bailey's Island. Trust me, you can't go wrong. read more

tents sites were ok, small space for car, tent space ok. Office didn't mention lobster available, wish I had known. Shower was fine, warm water. I prefer a little more secluded place, but was fine for a night's sleep. I stayed in site #77. people close, but set up pretty good. read more

Great campground! We went back on Memorial Day weekend and had a wonderful time, we were at site 81 and we had a pretty view of the pond, and a trail close by where we could go hiking! The lobster dinner was fantastic.. price and helpfulness was appreciated!! I noticed that many sites were small.. so I guess we lucked out. If you are in the back, you are quite a walk from the bathrooms, not so easy for kiddos, we would usually drive it. The bathrooms and showers were very clean, and noticeably cleaned throughout the day! We would definitely recommend this campground! read more

We made a reservation on July 27th of 2016, for this yr 2017, in 2 weeks, and was told by Chris, the owner, that there was no record of our receipt, while I was holding it in my hand. He was rude, and didn't care, or did not bother to amend the situation at all.Now we can not go to Maine that week for our annual camping trip to Maine. Very bad way to run a campground. So, DO NOT SIGN UP IN ADVANCE, because it means nothing. Also reported this to the Maine attorney generals office. read more

I wish I could rave about the campsite as others have, but unfortunately cannot. The campground is nice in the woodsy section. We were not in the woodsy section. Our trailer is larger, so we were put in the meadow area adjacent to a seasonal site. The seasonal site we were next to was like Sanford & Son's junkyard. Unbelievable mess. Really surprised they don't enforce some tidiness rules on some of these seasonal sites. Sorry, won't be coming back. read more

Would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you have a child with special needs. Our site was paid for in advance a week before we came. We had called and made sure they knew it was going to be 3 adults and 3 children and if they did the extra charge for an extra adult. They messed that up by not adding the extra adult even after calling them yet again to fix it. upon arrival they were jerks to my husband who simply went in to check in and the office informed him that we were only to put our children in one tent and adults in another and that no child could be with the adults. I went down later to smooth everything out and started off by asking why they are saying that the adults couldn't be with the kids (my kids are 7, 6 and just under 2 years old) especially when we had paid in advance for this site. I also informed them that my oldest was autistic and is prone to wandering so I do not put her by herself. at this point he threatened to call the sheriff on me. He didn't care about that and said that it was state regulations that he was following and that the kids could not be with the adults (which is not state regulations), at a later point he did finally say she could be with us but not the other kids. I told him the youngest wasn't even 2 yet. all this time he started out yelling and was not civil at all. finally toward the end of all this I said for the umpteenth time that we had paid for this in advance, he demanded we prove it and when I said it was paid for by credit card then the woman chimed up and finally said that yes she was the one who took it (she was standing there the whole time and didn't bother to mention that at all from the start). He came down later to the site and said sorry to my dad who had paid for the site and apologized for the misunderstanding of the extra money, but not once did he apologize for the statements he said against my kids. I will be following up on this. read more

In spite of the glowing reviews, the owner of this place is an absolute jerk. I reserved a tent site a week before going. I told the lady the number of people arriving , which involved an extra person fee. I paid with credit card over the phone and when the confirmation email came, I noticed they had the wrong number of people on it. I immediately called back to have it corrected and pay the additional fee . The lady assured me she would correct the reservation and I could pay the extra when I got there, which I did. When my daughter arrived with her family, which includes an autistic child, the fun started. The owner, an old jerk told her I did not pay the extra fee and they would have to get their own site. When I was informed of this , I went to the office to see what the issue was and he threatened to have me arrested even though I was not belligerent, I left and my daughter went up to speak to him, whereas he made disparaging remarks about my autistic granddaughter and threatened to have her removed by the sheriff . She told him to go ahead , call the sheriff and he put the phone down but continued his abusive remarks., Finally the lady employee who created this mess came in and told him I had paid , it was her mistake . The owner came down a little later to apologize to me but not to my daughter. I ignored him and did so the time we were there. My autistic granddaughter was looking forward to this camping trip so we stayed for her benefit only. My daughter is considering filing a complaint under the Americans with Disabilities Act for his abusive remarks concerning my granddaughter, who is 7. This place could be the Taj Mahal but when a hateful runs it, means nothing . read more

Wonderful place to stay close to Bath and Popham. No thrills and nothing fancy but their snack bar has a great selection and lobsters and steamer dinners can be ordered and delivered to your site. The staff are great. We've been staying at one of the two deluxe cabins for our annual getaway for the past five years now and will continue to do so. read more
