Here's my experience: I came in on a Friday evening around 6:15. The restaurant was about 65% full, so it wasn't slammed. I was seated in plain sight....easily visible to all five of the young waitresses working that evening. Over the next several minutes, I watched them serve food, refill waters, and check in with other tables around me. Not once did any of them acknowledge me. No "someone will be right with you," no "we're a little behind," not even eye contact or a smile. Nothing. It was as if I was completely invisible. I gave them the benefit of the doubt...maybe they were overwhelmed or distracted. So I waited. But then, three of them gathered behind the bar to chat and regroup. They saw me sitting there and even asked each other out loud, "Has anyone helped that table?" They looked confused, shrugged it off, and went right back to their conversation. Still, no one came over. No one claimed responsibility. I didn't even get a glass of water. I sat there for nearly 10 minutes. Not a word. Not a glance. I finally got up and calmly walked out. Several nearby guests actually gave me sympathetic looks--they could see what was happening too. And here's the kicker: I had plenty of time to look through the menu, and honestly, the prices felt a bit high for what was being offered. Nothing jumped out or made me eager to order. Maybe that was because I was starting to feel dehydrated from the lack of water. For the record, I'm just an average guy, clean and respectful, fresh out of the shower with a spray of cologne. I wasn't rude, disruptive, or hard to miss. Bottom line: I felt completely dismissed and ignored. I won't be coming back. Staying in Sidney for the night and needed something to eat. This seemed like a good bet so I stopped by. There was another group seated at a table and a few people sitting at the bar. There was one young guy at the bar who seemed like he'd had a few of the house made beers already and he seemed a bit fidgety. He ended up drawing my attention to a long hallway just to the left of the bar because a couple different times he walked down that way. Maybe that's where the restrooms are? But then it seemed like one of the servers would follow him and that maybe they were having some drama. Then he came back and sat alone at a table near the bar and the server was back and fourth to the table and then having a little sidebar (literally to the side of the bar) with another employee. Anyway, sorry for the long introduction, sometimes I like to try to give an idea what it felt like to be in a place. My server was not as young (not calling her old) as the ones that seemed caught up in the drama. She came over promptly and got my drink order. I got an IPA, Badlands, it was very good. Later I ordered a Teddy Roosevelt, American Badass, an Imperial Wheat IPA, I really liked this one! To eat I got the French Dip. For the price I was pretty disappointed in the size. It had approximately the same footprint as a pizza pocket. Okay maybe a little bigger than that, but not by much. I picked both options, cheese and onions & peppers. Ended up not getting the peppers. Each option was an additional $1 bringing the price of the sandwich to $18. I don't normally complain about quantity vs cost, as I feel quality/flavor should be the biggest driving factor in price, this was a bit extreme. The flavor was good enough, the Au Jus was nice. Even though the bread was a bit small it worked well for the sandwich. Soaked up the Au Jus well without falling apart. My server was pretty awesome and honestly I was traveling alone and I enjoyed the show with the younger staff and their relationship drama. If the sandwich hadn't been abnormally small I would have given them 5 stars. This is a small town and I think Meadowlark Brewery is a great addition! read more

Ordered French Dip, side salad. Beef was not sliced but chipped strips? Different but tasty. Bread really fresh, au jus very salty. Service ok, pleasant but not present. Their doing the hip, trendy, culinary creative, local quality food, gastro-pub-brewery thing that has become so popular in the rest of the country. The place has unique dishes, and a wide selection of their in house brewed beers to choose from. Most importantly they are the only people for hundreds of miles that have embraced this increasingly popular hip food trend. With that being said I want to give them 8 stars... but there is one thing I have a problem with. Some of the dishes... just miss. For example... being a self acclaimed asparagus connoisseur I was excited to see not one, but TWO different asparagus plates. The descriptions were similar except the one was labeled "fancy" and had balsamic and Parmesan cheese...and was $8 instead of $4. I asked the waiter to elaborate on this dish, and she didn't really know much about it... or the rest of the menu. I decided to take a plunge and go for the "fancy" asparagus...after all, life is short. I get a plate with 5 spears of asparagus a toddlers portion of balsamic drizzled over the top and a pathetic amount of grated cheese - for $8. I didn't cry.... I promise. But my eyes did water with sadness... Then there was the pork belly sliders -OMG PORK BELLY! I see this, immediately order it, and neglect my girlfriend for the next 15mins while I anxiously await in a pork-belly-filled day dream for my order. It arrives... and I see my beloved pork belly has been dastardly placed on top of 3 of the cheapest white hamburger buns available on the market today (no exaggeration - I would be hard-pressed to find cheaper looking buns). Once again, I didn't cry... But my eyes did water with sadness. On a positive note, every-time I go the selection of desserts blows my mind. Great ambience downtown. Brick walls multi level restaurant. Does have wine but no domestic berth at isn't specialty brews. Appetizers are good. Dinner was really good. Ate here 2 nights in a row. Had a burger. Sizes of meals are a bit on smaller side which worked for my group. Among our groups over 2 nights sampled about everything. No one complained about quality. read more

This place made me happy :} While I didn't find a new favorite local beer (I'm a beaver creek fan), I appreciated the variety. What I absolutely loved was the ambiance. I am from Cali, and after a long day of flying, my friends took me to this place. The server, Krista, is awesome. So awesome I would want to be here friend if I lived even remotely close. She recommended a new beer called fungus shui. I ended up buying a growler (this was all last night), drank it all today, and went back tonight to refill. We ended up staying for longer, drinking a few beers and eating tots and fries with beer cheese. This place is awesome. We were staying in Sidney for work and thought this place looked cool and the menu was great! We came in on a Monday night and the place was empty, but it was a great atmosphere and we were greeted right away. After taking forever to decide what to get because everything sounded amazing I settled for the Bruschetta Chicken Sandwich. I am currently pregnant so I couldn't try their beers but my coworker had a few and loved them. My sandwich was delicious and the fries were even better! The pesto, aioli and chicken were a great combination and I enjoyed every bite! My coworker got the Smash burger and it looked amazing and he said it was really good too... We decided to come back again on Tuesday to try the Mac and Cheese that we had both wanted the day before but didn't get and to our surprise the place was packed because it was trivia night. This made our dinner even better because it was so much fun and there was contest and all sort of stuff going on. Now the Mac & Cheese is the only thing you should ever get here because it was out of this world. Now you have to like the cheesiest of cheesiest Mac and cheese because this was definitely it. If I were writing a review for the beer alone I would give 5 stars. I decided to order the 10 ounce ribeye, I love ribeye steaks. The steak that arrived on my plate was 14-16 ounces and was not a ribeye. It was a New York strip cut, absent of any marbling. I asked the waitress and bless her heart - she had no clue about steak cuts, I asked her to check with the kitchen - the chef told her it was the eye of the rib eye! No, I have eaten many, many ribeye steaks and this steak was not a ribeye, unless it was a very poor "choice cut" devoid of any fat or marbling. I will drink their beers but will be very careful if I order food. The Badlands IPA and the Teddy Roosevelt are very good! read more

Once again a great experience at Meadowlark. I came back after visiting a few weeks ago and again had Greta as a server. She was wonderful and knowledge about the beer. I loved this upscale brewery. We arrived for a late lunch and lots of tasting. Not being a died in the wool beer drinker, I tried the Peach Wheat, Harvester Cream Ale, Treasure State Filtered Wheat and a Cherry cider from Oregon. Loved the Peach wheat and chose to have more of that, rather than the wine they also offer. The rest of the group loved the Teddy Roosevelt wheat IPA among others. We enjoyed the delicious food offerings as well, pork belly tacos, fish tacos, onion rings, and fried pickles with cheese which were really unusual and tasty. The brewmaster, Tim, came out to chat and I liked his philosophy that his beers should be all inclusive, meaning there would be something for me, a novice beer drinker, and also interesting beers for those with a more experienced palate.
