You'll see that I've posted pics of myself wearing a 1960's Hawaiian Tiki dress, a vintage straw hat, and a 70's striped dress---all purchased in one trip to the Meals on Wheels Thrift Store. Two other things I bought that day I don't have pics of, but appreciate: a 1960's one piece paisley print bathing suit; and 1950's copper (very modern design) dangle earrings. I think I spent less than $20 on everything--the two vintage dresses and the 1960's straw hat that I've posted pics of, and the swimsuit and the earrings. I always check out meals on wheels thrift store when ever I'm in lakeport to support the senior meals program it such a great cause and soon I will be a senior citizen myself. But today I had gone in with a friend and from the start the lady behind the counter was so rude and snappy towards both of us I really couldn't believe her. Then she couldn't count to make change back lik e it was our fault she didn't know how to add. I tried to help her and she threw the receipt at me .I was shocked she said her name was Dara or something we said we wouldn't be back ever because of her attitude and big mouth saying stuff while we were outside . She has black short hair glasses tall and slim but don't forget rude rude rude. read more

this is a store we have donated a LOT of great stuff to. we shop there all the time too, & I was upset when the following incident occurred. I went in with my daughter, who picked out an old book from their little curio case of "antiques & collectables" that had a handwritten price inside of $7 dollars. we finished shopping & the clerk was ringing us up when suddenly a lady named LaDonna came over & ACTUALLY TOOK THE BOOK OUT OF THE CLERK'S HAND & asked us "where did you get this?" & when we pointed to the cabinet, she said "well, I have to go look this up" & TOOK OFF DOWNSTAIRS WITH OUR BOOK. when she comes upstairs, she says "well I looked this up on ebay & it's a $300.00 book, so we'll sell our copy for $100.00 to you" so we just left...how low is that? I know the clerk felt bad. He was a really nice guy, but this LaDonna was insufferably rude! she left us hanging & made us wait, then pulled that number on us...it was obvious that the people who DONATED IT TO THEIR STORE originally paid $7.00 for it, & the thrift store got it FOR FREE. what kind of a way is that to treat valued customers?? we've donated really nice stuff to them that we've seen in there for a pretty penny, but this book was marked $7.00. comon'. that was a really low blow. they've made a nice profit from our donations over the years & this is the thanks we get. dang. read more

Good overall selection but can be pretty pricey. A nice blouse can cost $7. Furniture is not cheap either, can find some good deals though if you look around. read more

Friendly staff, clean, organized merchandise and lots to choose from. I have so much fun in this store every time I go there.
