Meanwhile Brewing is one of my go-to spots because it's spacious, well-designed, and really has something for everyone. Have kids? Bring them and let them run around the playground. Have dogs? Lots of room for them to chill (on leash). Want to work and have coffee then a beer after? Set your laptop on the bar inside. Want some of the best food trucks in Austin? Get a group and sample each one. I'm actually surprised I haven't reviewed this place because I first visited when it opened and have consistently come back ever since (especially since the Besame ice cream truck there does amazing weekly pint drops that pick up there). It's a place I always bring out of towners because it's so easy with its variety of not just food trucks but of course its delicious beer and other beverages (don't skip on the mango sticky rice boozy frozen cocktail). Parking is always a bit touch and go with a small parking lot and such a big accommodating outdoor space but there are lots of street parking with no other establishments around there, but you may have to walk a bit. read more

Easily my favorite brewery in town. The food trailers here are all bomb and on point. This is an awesome spot for lunch. You can get everything from world class tacos, great pizza to Texas Monthly Top 50 ranked BBQ. The beer is absolutely amazing. The collabs with local breweries and bars such as Cosmic and St. Elmo are all cool and tasty -AF. The to go beer options are always great. You can have a few pints and come home with some amazing beer to finish the night at home watching a movie with. I've seen a few shows here. Saw Eternal Champion here and had a blast. The venue is great for live music, anytime they have a live show its worth the cover to hang out and see some live tunes and have some amazing beer. The best thing about Meanwhile for me happens to be that its extremely family friendly. They have a playground a soccer court and large open field that is perfect for flying kites. They are all fenced in so its the perfect spot for me to bring my daughter to play. My family comes here regularly and we really enjoy the family friendly aspect Meanwhile offers. I could go on and on about how much I love the beer and just this space in general. Its really do not miss Austin location now. Really like this place for many reasons, and it's something different each time I visit, even though I've really only gone with the same person every time! The first time was because I wanted to get ice cream from one of the food trucks so we went here after dinner. Second time was on a Saturday morning/early lunch time after playing some pickleball- it was pretty hard to decide which food to get from all the selection they have outside but we ended up going for the Mexican food truck and it was definitely the right decision! The most recent time was to meet up and talk - we were inside since it was in the middle of the afternoon and it's 100+ degrees outside. I finally got to try some brew. I've been on a Japanese lager kick lately and the Jasmine Green Tea Lager was the perfect brew. I feel like I could drink that any day. If you haven't tried it yet, y'a must! read more

I've always loved meanwhile; for group hangs, family gatherings, solo work sessions + coffee / food / beer. - but today I have to shout out, Ren. They were such a breath of fresh air when taking my order and gave me a boost of positive energy when I wasn't feeling my best. Then when my latte was mistakenly made in a to go cup instead of for here, they made the choice to take the time, and do the right thing, remaking it for here from scratch and not just dump it into a ceramic mug. It's simple, I know, but it really made me feel cared for and was a choice they made that made all the difference to me. This place is massive. Inside has a decent amount of tables and booths, but the outside patio is enormous. The staff was friendly and informative. The beer selection was extensive. Stop in on a Sunday afternoon to grab a drink with my husband and enjoy the fresh air. Parking is not the easiest here. Thankfully I have handicap parking but for everyone else it's hard to come by when they are busy. This place is quite large with a selection of beers, cider and cocktails. I got a spicy margarita which was just okay. I would have liked a little more aesthetics to the drink like a fresh jalapeño and or even some salt around the rim. My husband got a beer which he enjoyed. We sat outside and they have some shaded areas which was nice for a warmer January afternoon. They have a few options for food but we didn't eat here. Amazing place! Love that it's in the warehouse district, so it's off the beaten path. A TON of shaded seating and room to spread out. There was a kid's bday party there and we didn't notice (yay for our dog). There was plenty of water to help yourself to as well as a nice list of beers. They were all incredible (even the German ones)! They also have some cocktails, frozés and coffee available. We got an iced dirty chai on our way out, since their coffee looked and smelled good. WOW! Nice and strong! I am very picky about coffee being too weak and having to add extra shots of espresso, but this was on point! We will definitely be back! Nice chill brewery with plenty of outdoor area for dogs and kids. I especially liked the grove area with trees which kept it cool and the mulch gave off a nice cedar aroma. I really love Meanwhile because it is a wonderful, relaxed place to go with family and friends for a beer and some great food trucks. There is an expansive outdoor area with picnic benches, a soccer field for kids, frequent small markets with local vendors and other lawn games. They hold free concerts every now and then with great local bands and when I was there recently they were showing a football game on the big outdoor screen, creating a really wonderful sense of community. They have lots of different types of beers and cocktails, including a whole holiday seasonal menu that I had to check out. I had a Santa's sangria cocktail which was quite strong, a very citrusy flavor, though I didn't taste much of the other things that were listed to be in there. They have really great food trucks as well. Not the largest parking lot, but there's plenty of parking up and down the street. This opened October 16. This new southeast brewery near Ben White and ih-35 is extremely popular. This is a four acre lot and there were no picnic tables left to sit at, for instance, and the wait in line is at least twenty minutes. All seating is outside at this time. IPAs were great, and made on site. The cocktails are made out of "hard seltzer" so not your typical fare. There are also coffee drinks and limited drinks for the kids. There are three food trucks: pizza, Tex mex, and a lobster roll place called Garditos. The playground is closed during the pandemic but is made out of the local trees and really cute. Very dog friendly. Clean tables. There's a stage for outdoor music, some day. Great idea, and obviously in high demand for South Austin. read more

Great vibes inside this place. It's not very big on the inside but it's very spacious and the booths are really large! They have a very wide selection of beers and some of their beers are sold at grocery stores too (H‑E‑B). They have a huge parking lot with lots of spots so it's not hard to go there and hang out for a while * pun intended*. I don't remember which beer specifically I had but I remember it was Japanese and it was very good. The bartenders were very helpful as well and gave me recs for what to get based on the kinds of beer I like. While I was visiting Austin, I came across Meanwhile Brewing. I loved that the space was wide open, had plenty of seating, offered an outdoor playground for the kiddos and there was a stage for live performances. We went during the day and more than 75% of everyone there during the day were people working in laptops, taking zoom calls and attending meetings with co-workers. It is a great spot to co-work. Four Food trucks are on the property. There is also a small athletic field where people were playing soccer. This place is really fun! I loved the fact that I was able to drink a beer and a coffee. The crowd varied from pet owners, families, to singles, to couples, to co-workers (all inclusive). The bathrooms were pristine. The next time I'm in Austin, I will be returning. I was really excited to try meanwhile brewing, but to put it bluntly, there were way too many children for me. I don't dislike children but the sheer number made it feel like you're drinking beer at a playground, not a brewery. Worse, many of the children were unsupervised and were destroying the environment around them - chipping away at the rock wall with other rocks, swaying from young tree limbs and snapping them, etc. The selection of food trucks was nice, and I enjoyed the beer, but it was impossible to close out because the line was out the door and when I asked if there was another place to check out, they advised me to just walk the tab and pay the 20% auto tip (which I did). read more

Love this place! We've been here a few times to enjoy the food trucks, play space, and, of course, the beer. The staff is typically pretty warm and friendly (although there is one person who works at the bar area and doesn't make eye contact or say hello , but she's the exception and not the rule). Once, we ordered a beer and there wasn't a full serving left on tap so they gave us what was left for free and let us order something else. Something I really appreciate is that they have misters all over! As someone who sweats as soon as the temp breaks 80, it was life saving. There's also so much shade! Lots of mature trees with lots of leaves. So, you're pretty safe even if you don't enjoy being out in the heat. They have food trucks with ice cream, pizza, bbq, and other cool stuff that I haven't tried yet. The pizza truck is amazing! There's also a play area for the kiddos with fun sets for them to slide down and climb up and the children really seemed to enjoy that area. One other thing that stands out to me is that there are so many opportunities to connect with others at Meanwhile Brewery --from the picnic tables to the line for the bar, and even the tables in the indoor area. This is something that might be easy to overlook, but creating spaces that foster social connection is hardly ever accidental. And, in a time when we're all so disconnected and lonely post-pandemic, human connection is something I hope we can all prioritize. I love Meanwhile Brewing. The vibe is casual, the seating outdoors is either fully shaded or has misting fans, so don't fret the heat. We've visited four times now and love the food truck fare. The BBQ is very, very good and should not be missed. They give you sauces, but I gotta say... you don't need them. The ribs are incredibly well seasoned and fall off the bone. I'm not generally a fan of chicken (it's like the khaki pants of.meat, amirite?), but their chicken...dear lord. It's so flavorful, has a very unique tamarind sauce they serve with it and it's so tender. The taco food truck is solid. Our vegetarian contingent dined there and had good comments. We haven't tried the pizza yet, but it looks good and I've not heard anyone complain. The beer at Meanwhile is very good. I've been enjoying Lou's Lager and my husband has been drinking a spicy stout. My only criticism is the overabundance of IPAs. I look forward to some point in the future when the bar doesn't have 75% of the offerings in that category. IPAs have got to be the most overrated beer on the planet. If you wanna listen to live music, there's a full stage for performers outside. If you wanna have your dog sitting next to you in the main bar booth, you can do that. Place is chill and for a guy like myself who typically goes to bourbon I was really impressed by their Pina Colada (even with some judgement from my girlfriend).
