7/27/25 Zach…read moresurprised me with a ramen cooking class at The Story of Ramen. I lovvvve ramen (and noodles in general) so I was ecstatic for this experience. The Story of Ramen is located in the Mission so parking was a little tricky. We got to the general area 20 minutes before so that we could get a decent parking spot. We did the 4 hour advanced workshop where we learned about how to prepare the broth, marinated eggs, chasiu pork, tare seasoning and how to make the ramen. For that day, there were 5 other pairs. Our teachers Manville and Jeff, guided us through every step of the arduous process of making the perfect bowl of ramen. The workshop started off with a lecture about the history of ramen and the creation of The Story of Ramen. Of all the tasks we did, my favorite was making the ramen itself. After learning in detail how much work goes into making ramen, I appreciate ramen more than I ever did before. This was a great team building activity and something new for us. I highly recommend this and of course you get to eat the bowl of ramen you make at the end of the workshop!

The Story of Ramen is a delicious and delightful experience. A friend and I went to San Francisco…read morewhere one of the owners, Jeff, gave us the history of Ramen and taught us how to make our own noodles and boil them. The broth had been previously prepared, as were the numerous ingredients to be added, which were ready for us when we added our noodles. The silence as we ate was only broken by sounds of people appreciating the amazing products of our lesson. This was a fantastic opportunity. Thank you, Jeff, for your gracious and generous hospitality and all your hard preparations.
