I had a great experience here from start to finish. Woke up feeling ill on Thanksgiving weekend and needed to get a rapid COVID test to eliminate that possibility, since I was staying with someone immunocompromised and I was about to hop on a train back to NYC later that afternoon. This is seemingly one of, if not the only, places in the area that accept walk-in patients for COVID testing. Every other place required an appointment and couldn't take me until Mon or Tues of the following week. I called and the person on the phone was kind and told me that they were busy, but they would start taking patients again at 1:30pm and that I needed to be in the parking lot in order to be added to the queue. I arrived at 1:28 and called and sure enough they added me to the queue after I gave them some info over the phone. They quoted me 1-1.5 hr wait time, but they called me inside after about 30 minutes. The staff inside was very kind. I especially liked the nurse I saw whose upbeat demeanor made my experience that much better (I wish I remembered her name - tall, thin, brunette working Saturday 11/27). The NP was also kind and upbeat and explained to me that I did not have COVID (phew) and that I was just dehydrated and gave me some recommendations on what to do bounce back. The administrative process was seamless as well. The front desk employee handed me my paperwork on the way out and I was on my way. Overall, this is seemingly one of the best options in the area for walk-in urgent care. If I was unable to get a rapid test that day, I would have had to rearrange several aspects of my travel plans. I was very grateful to find this place, as they saved me from what could have been a potentially catastrophic situation. read more

I'm in x-ray and came here for testing for pre-employment. From the waiting room I could hear the entire conversation between a care giver and a patient. The exam room was adjacent to the quiet waiting room for everyone to listen in. Major HIPAA violation!! I was standing there waiting to just get to the receptionist for 20 minutes and had to wait another 50 minutes or so, being there for over an hour in the waiting room just to pee in a cup... read more

I went today at about 5:30 for severe ear pain. I was told to call in an hour. I did, and then I was told to call in another 20 minutes. When I called back I was told,"sorry, we close in 50 minutes. Westfield, MA. Went there at 7:10 pm (they close at 8) with my daughter-in-law who fell at her sons little league game. Top of right foot hurt and could not put weight on it. Also scrapped her right leg. No one else there; no cars in parking lot. Got a wheel chair and front desk person came out and said she needed ER. They could not treat her there. No exam just looked at her in parking lot. Even though there website says "Everyday injuries treated every day. Great care when you need it for cuts, breaks, and more." injuries we treat: Broken Bones Cuts and Scrapes Strains and Sprains X-Rays DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! Appeared she wanted to go home. I'm a physician in my 60's who was sent here by my employer for a TB test (T-spot, a blood test). I called in advance about this test and was told they could do it today, first come/first serve. I got there around 5pm and was told I should've come before 3pm. Why didn't they tell me earlier??? "Must've been an oversight". No apology, even though I told them I drove 30 min to get there. And the receptionist called me "hon" more than once, which I find patronizing (don't professionals know this?). I told her I was a doctor, not "hon", and she said "OK, Doctor!!" with a face that conveyed she thought I was full of it. Conclusion: I got no service and a total lack of respect. If I could give a zero I would. My sister has been very sick and decided to give this place a try on my recommendation. She was the first person in the door but they took the guy who came in after her. Then they made her wait over an hour with no help until she gave up and walked out. Both my kids have been treated here in the past month for stitches two weeks apart. Dumb luck right after we move that both of them got the first set of stitches as teenagers while moving into the new house. Anyway the staff here is beyond professional, Very quick to handle them each time. I didn't wanna go to a hospital because I didn't want to sit in a waiting room were nobody would care that they were bleeding.... so we came here to MedExpress the staff was phenomenal. 5 to 10 minute wait in the parking lot and your in. couple of questions about how it happened and off to see the doctor you go... the woman who did my children's stitches both times was very good at her job she knew just how to keep them calm keep them talking did the stitches before they even knew they were done. Called ahead for my 16 year old, he had an ear infection. We called again when we arrived, gave all our info over the phone and was called into an exam room within 5 minutes! My son was seen and give a prescription in less than 10 minutes! I have used this Med Express for years. I had come here after not being impressed with the Noble walk-in. In the past two months, we have visited MedExpress 5 times. There was only one time that we had to wait for an hour, but I was not complaining. There were people with acute Medical needs. I've had to wait longer at my primary care and definitely longer at the ER. The staff is always accommodating, friendly, efficient, and professional. The facility is wide open, clean, and comfortable. I appreciate the hand sanitizers that are placed throughout the building. The parking is close to the door and easily assessable for those who have difficulty walking. I highly recommend this facility and encourage those who have visited to also share a positive review. read more

My husband called MedExpress @ 7:40 pm to find out if they see their last patient at 8pm or lock the door at 8pm, Hannah stated they lock the door at 8pm, so he tells her he's bringing his wife. We get there at 7:53PM, and the doors are locked. Hannah comes to the door and proceeds to tell us they are done for the day. She locked the door and that was it. I went to AFC urgent Care in West Springfield in the morning and they were wonderful! Would highly suggest going there. If your hours are 8-8 then why are you locking the door early, bad practice!! read more

I don't have a primary care physician in the area and I went here with shoulder pain and numbness. Everyone was friendly and helpful: reception, intake nurse, and the nurse practitioner who examined me. I was given appropriate prescriptions and recommendations for follow-up. Where to begin...after securing a close space in the large parking lot, my husband and I entered the waiting room which was large and well-appointed. We were immediately welcomed by the receptionist. She called us right over, and she asked for my insurance card and driver's license. She then directed us to the seating area and told us that the next person would be calling us up shortly......wait! Where is the mountain of superfluous paperwork to fill out? Why am I not being treated to everyone's favorite doctor's office chore of copying down the information already contained on the two documents I just gave the receptionist? I don't even get the thrill of recounting my family's medical history by trying to fit "consumption" in the tiny box labeled "paternal grandmother's cause of death". After a few minutes I was called over to sign my name on a four documents. The copay? The same as my doctor's office. Of course, I did miss the static-laden hold music followed by the offer of a super convenient appointment for two weeks from now at 9:00 a.m. (Because every working adult lives for the thrill of nursing an urgent medical matter for a fortnight and then taking time off from work to see the doctor who will inevitably be running late even though this the first appointment of the day.) Then we were called into the triage nurse. She introduced herself and shook our hands. She then blew my mind by asking me how tall I was and how much I weighed! Did I hear her right? Did she just trust trust me, a grown woman, to know my own height and weight? Never in my entire 53 years have I been trusted to impart this information! How refreshing! She then took my temperature, blood oxygen, and blood pressure. I was informed of the outcome of all of these measures. Again, I was being treated like a thinking adult. We were shown into an exam room and the doctor came in shortly thereafter. She was concerned, compassionate, and professional. Medication was prescribed, and we were on our way. The whole experience took less than an hour. Would I recommend it? Only if you want fast, friendly, professional medical attention from a staff who seem to recognize that you are more than a chart. I know I'll come here the next time I need care. read more

This is my first time writing a review but I feel as tho I have to because I had a terrible experience. I do not live around here and needed to go to the doctor because I have a very sore throats and swollen glands. When I walked into MedExpress I was surprised. It was very nice and clean. I didn't have to wait long to see the nurse. The nurse checked my vitals and tested me for strep. She brought me to another room where I waited for over thirty minutes for the doctor to see me. The doctor came in and checked my ears and glands and throat. I told her I threw up last night because it's hard for me to swallow and I have so much mucus so she said she was going to prescribe me with something to keep me from feeling nauseous and throwing up. She was no help at all because that's not why I came in. They didn't recommend anything for me besides to drink a lot of fluids. Never going back. read more

Awful experience. I described my symptoms, what I believed to be a sinus infection, to the PA and she proceeded to ignore half the things I told her, including sinus congestion, fever, and pressure/hearing loss in one ear. She suggested that I have allergies, even though I repeatedly told her I have been tested and have no known allergies. Waste of money and two hours. read more

My health card is missing, ordered another one - even when I knew the numbers they refused to treat with an ID. I was refused treatment for a sinus infection. I can't go to Noble E.R. for this, the vicious nurses would just scream not to come to the E.R. unless it is an emergency - my doctor's office told me to go to this place - it happened on a Friday afternoon, so basically I will not get medical care until Monday. Numerous people waiting inside, so maybe it was for the best. I will not go here ever again. read more

Beware - this practice locks its doors & turns people away ten minutes before posted closing time. I called on my way there (@7:25pm) to let them know I was coming & asked if they had a sign up/call ahead list so that I could get on. Person that answered phone said no, but there was an hour long wait. I asked what time they cut it off. Response was "As long as you get in & signed in before 8pm, you'll be seen." My husband dropped me off at the front door at 7:49pm (exact). I tried the door to find it locked. Patients were inside & waiting. An office staffer was closing the blinds, so I got her attention & pointed at my wrist. She came to the door and told me they were done for the night. I told her I called and they told me as long as I was in by 8pm, I would be seen. She stated "We don't let people in after 7:55pm." I told her it was NOT 7:55pm yet. She said nothing and let me in and walked behind the counter & signed me in. Then told me that if the doctor prescribed anything, I wouldn't be able to fill the prescription until tomorrow anyway. I told her I had already checked out the 24 hour pharmacies nearby & I would go to one of them. I'm so glad I got in because I was getting the flu and was able to get Tamiflu that night from CVS Pharmacy in Enfield, CT. It made ALL the difference. The flu never really took hold & I was back to normal in one day. I don't plan on ever coming back here. The medical assistant & PA were great - but if I can't count on your posted hours, I can't count on you. read more

I could of went to the ER for this and been out by now I will not be coming here again . The nurse keeps coming in and saying she's sorry but this NP is really slow even if it's something simple I am about to walk out and go to Noble Express they are way quicker .. There is no one else in here but people that came after me . I will not be coming here ever again ... They need to change there name .. I waited 30 minutes for the doctor to come in (It was 10am on a weekday and I was the only patient there). She spent a full 30 seconds **no exaggeration** looking at my rash and telling me to go to CVS. Then she practically ran out the door. They are now charging me $15 for this "visit". My daughter and I went to med express to get some medications refilled. We are new to the area and our appoints to se. our new doctors are not for 6-8 weeks. We were checked in, copays were collected and we were creeped by the nurse. The nurse screening included collecting a list of the medications. All of this to told by the P.A. working that they have a policy not to fill chronic medications. I asked him why they just did not tell us that up front. He said they are not allowed. What a total waste of time and money. They do not tell you up front so they can get your copay. I also had a rash for the past two days that I decided to have him look at since they already had my money. He misdiagnosed it and told me to use over the counter Benadryl cream. I know he misdiagnosed it because I have been in medicine my self for over 30 years and know what Pityriasis Rosea looks like. Apparently this P.A. does not. The place is very nicely decorated and clean, but maybe they should spend less money on ambience and more on quality staff. It was a major waste of my time and money. Try going to American Family Care. I have been there many times and they truly work to help people!! read more

I rarely can be bothered to write online reviews, so for me to make the effort the service has to be either outstanding or terrible. In this case it was the former. I got right in and breezed through the opening paperwork. I remember commenting on how clean and impressive the appearance of the lobby was. After a short wait I was sent in. Unlike many businesses that are understaffed and force their workers into running around like maniacs, MedExpress has a solid staff and didn't look harried or frantic whatsoever. I was zipped efficiently from station to station - from vitals to consultation, to X-rays, to bloodwork - all with different techs, but the right hand always knew what the left was doing and there was no downtime or confusion to speak of. They were highly organized, knowledgeable, compassionate, and very easy to deal with. I would absolutely go back, in fact I'm pretty sure I prefer them over my own primary care physician. read more

Came in on a weekday around 10-11 am and was seen immediately by a receptionist (no one else at all in the waiting room!). Evelyn (??) was a total sweetheart. The service there was good, you're just asked to sign various agreements on a little digital pad. Once all the agreements were signed and insurance matters completed a nurse took me in to take my blood pressure, etc. and that was done quickly and efficiently. I was then taken into one of the private rooms where I had about a 5 minute wait before the doctor came in. He asked a couple questions that the nurse had already asked, poked and prodded a little, said he didn't see anything and essentially told me it was nothing to worry about, as I'd expected at the time. According to him, it was "just a little irritation that would *probably go away in a couple days". Apparently he couldn't even guarantee that it would in fact go away at all because he wasn't even sure what was wrong with me in the first place. I was told to use hot and/or cold compresses to ease the discomfort. After 5+ days of the same pains and no changes or anything I started to realize I wished the doctor had at least asked for a test or something to be done because irritation alone couldn't have been causing that amount of discomfort for that length of time. I paid $50 (and that was just the copay!) for a doctor to do nothing more than look at me and tell me what the Internet told me for free, all while nothing changed because of it. 3 days after I went in to be told that basically nothing was wrong, I discovered I now had a discharge coming from the point of "irritation". I went back, paid ANOTHER $50 to see a different doctor (thank god!) who did a MUCH more thorough check of the area I was having issues with, and was informed that the reason I was feeling so much discomfort was that I had a deep infection (apparently not easily visible without LOTS of poking and prodding), not irritation, now with gross discharge to boot. She prescribed me antibiotics for it. While I appreciate the service from the rest of the staff and this second doctor, the actual diagnosis from the first doctor was less than par- especially when it's given to a person who is on vacation miles and miles and miles from home. Helpful. I can only hope his skills as a doctor improve for the sake of any future patients with issues more serious than my own! I'm happy to report that I am feeling better now (two weeks after my first visit), but I'm still peeved by the lack of "doctoring" I received from the first visit. I really want to like this place-- it's extremely convenient, especially considering appointments are not necessary and both times I've visited I've had very very little to no wait time at all, but I can't help but cut a star for the lack of concern from this man. Unfortunately about a week after my second visit I received the bill for whatever my insurance didn't cover for this visit. All I can say is if you think you already know what's wrong, I'd recommend visiting a real doctor's office or a hospital who can actually help completely resolve your problem. MedExpress seems incapable of doing any more than observing and possibly "diagnosing" with no real long term solution. I was charged about $300 for two visits (remember, that's WITH insurance!) in which I saw two doctors for a grand total of MAYBE 5 minutes and nothing was done but some poking and prodding with a glorified q-tip. This place has potential, but the quality of the service from the first doctor combined with the absurd cost for the overall lack of service I received is NOT worth it.
