Been with medical center since early 90's. Recently saw something in medical record that I thought she had put in there. Turns out it was a coding error. I was very upset with the diagnosis. If you're like most, having to go to the doctor is nothing you usually look forward to. My first experience was when my mom needed to find a primary care physician after moving to the area. This establishment was recommended as well a physician. Almost a decade later, she continues to come. Without going into too many details, my husband had gradually started experiencing symptoms that lead to needing medical attention. He was seen in Urgent Care and a diagnosis was found. Even though it was a scary day for us, the staff was superior. We were given all the information and recommendations to undertake. We did not feel rushed and we left with understanding instead of questions. It was shortly after this, I myself felt it was time to start taking care of my health and now I have established care with an excellent doctor. Front desk is polite and friendly. Lab technicians are superior sticks (I am terrified of needles and used to always end up with a huge bruise, but I have not had one bruise since having blood work done here.) They are currently in the process of growing and expanding, which is a good sign of their success. They are continually try to improve and better their practice which is one thing I like that about them; they aren't complacent and continue to strive. Keep it up! read more

I'm just going to be honest, I haven't had one appointment where I left feeling like the doctor cared about me or that they were actually listening. If you don't have the run of the mill cold or flu then obviously you are faking or drug seeking to these people. Dr. Duke told me to my face he did not want to test me for vitamin D deficiency because that's clearly not my problem and I should go to mental health, just for my labs to come back and I DO have vitamin D deficiency. I hope he finds some humility one day. Dr. Kolbie is constantly rude to me and treats me like I'm malingering when in actuality I just want to find out what's wrong but he won't do any tests! No one should be made to feel like they don't matter and unfortunately if you aren't a certain person this is the treatment you will get here. read more

Crazy amounts of waiting time. I've been waiting an hour and a half to see a doctor. The nurses aren't terribly friendly or accommodating.

If you aren't family are close friends of the people here, the quality of care and consistently is below average!!! Dr. Duke is incompetent and appears racist... Dr. Sampson is the best that they have there! Medication authorization (Lashunda) needs something (but training will suffice)!!! I went there on or about October 4, 2019 with a severe rash on my left arm. My primary care physician is in Hazlehurst and I figured this problem was not overly serious so I went here. I saw Dr. Duke and I have never with a doctor as irresponsible or unqualified as he turned out to be. He came into the room with a defined arrogance, glanced at my arm for about 30 seconds, told me I had a skin infection, told me he was writing me a prescription for antibiotics and then started in on me about taking flu vaccinations and pneumonia vaccinations. I advised him that I did not care for vaccinations and he continued to pound and pound me about these vaccinations. I asked him about a shot of antibiotics for this supposed skin infection and he told me that a shot would not be effective, and started again about these vaccinations. Undoubtedly, because I am fortunate enough to have great insurance that pays for everything with no copays, he saw an opportunity to make a great deal of money off me if I would agree to these stupid vaccinations. Finally, just to get him to shut up and let me get out of there, I agreed to the pneumonia vaccination. I took the antibiotic medication with my arm getting worse every day and even spreading to my right arm, my fingers, and my face. It got so bad after I finished the antibiotics he prescribed that I finally called my personal physician, who also happens to be a very good friend of mine, and went to see him. When he walked into the examination room, he took one look at the rash and asked me where I got the mites. I didn't even know what mites were but they are similar to ticks and chiggers only so small you can't see them with the naked eye. He prescribed some crème and some other medication to help stop the intense itching I was having. I used his prescription and the very next day I could tell a substantial difference in how much better my arm was feeling and looking. But, it had gotten in such bad shape that even now, on November 16, 2019, 6 weeks later, the scars are just now beginning to heal. Dr. Duke is a real jerk and is obviously money hungry. I am in the process of filing a formal complaint with the State Medical Board and also taking steps to sue him for malpractice. People make mistakes, doctors make mistakes, but they make these mistakes after a through examination of their patients. Nobody is perfect but for Dr. Duke to spend about 30 seconds examining me and another 30 MINUTES trying to talk me into vaccinations I didn't really want. If you have to go here, make sure you DON'T see Dr. Duke. read more

I went to the Medical Center for urgent care of a red and swollen eyelid. I normally see Dr. Samson and he is wonderful. However, Dr. Duke was handling urgent care patients that day. I had seen him several years ago and wasn't pleased with him then but I had the attitude that maybe he had changed and I would give him another try. Unfortunately, that didn't prove to be the case. He spent 45 minutes talking to the person he saw prior to me, talking about who knows what. When he finally got to me, he came in and took maybe all of 10 seconds to look at my eye and said it was "probably" a staff infection but he couldn't be sure and would prescribe an antibiotic. That was what I was expecting so everything was good up to that point. Then he decides to ask about a mammogram. I explained that my gynecologist always arranges that but then he proceeded to tell me that now all the doctors are "graded" on whether they check a certain box and that he wanted to get a good "grade", etc. I told him twice more that I would rather make the appt. thru my normal doctor and he just kept on. To shut him up I told him to go ahead and make it, knowing I would turn around and cancel it anyway. Then he starts on the colonoscopy. By this time, I had been at the dr's office 90 minutes and needed to get to work and my patience was wearing thin. I told him very firmly that I was NOT getting that done right now and, again, the lecture about how he needed to be able to check that box and get a good "grade." Obviously, there was no concern with my physical welfare. He could have explained why the tests were so important or he could have given me handouts to help me understand the tests better; but, no, he was only interested in himself. Frankly, I don't know how he's managed to be in the medical field this long. He has a terrible bedside manner. When I left, he could probably tell I was not pleased with my visit. He didn't even look at me or wish me a good day. Anyway, thankfully the medicine he prescribed has worked although I've had side effects from it. If at all possible, please avoid this doctor. You will NOT be pleased with his performance. I give the Medical Center 3 stars because the majority of the staff is efficient and competent. I would give Dr. Duke zero stars if I could. read more

Dr Duke was very rude and arrogant, spent more time trying to talk me into colon test which was unrelated to office visit. His secretary/billing clerk could not answer questions about the bill without turning it into a argument. Would recommend Dr. Samson or one of the other excellent doctors. read more

I love my Doctor! With that being said, I DO NOT like the office in which he practices. The staff always seems to have a chip on their shoulders! If you try to make an appointment, even if you are a regular patient, (who only comes there for medical treatment) and you owe them $1 or $500 they will send you to collections and hold your appointment randsom until your balance is paid IN FULL. Had an insurance issue, and before I could see my doctor, I had to pay the ENTIRETY of what my insurance hadn't paid, PLUS my copay before I could get the appointment for A PRESCRIPTION REFILL. That is just bad business practice. Im currently looking for a new provider. Not cool y'all, not cool. read more

My family has seen four of the Doctors here -- and they have all been great. It's nice that they have an in-house lab also. Wait times are reasonable. I'm subtracting a star simply because their "pharmacy line" to get prescription refills is not good. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this practice. read more

I have been going to the Medical Center for well over 10 years. Dr. Tate is an awesome doctor and is our family GP. He listens to what the patient is saying and helps in every way possible. There are times they do get busy, but they try their hardest to stay on schedule. Most of the doctors there are good doctors and want to help in any way they can. I'm also not originally from here and I don't have any friends or family who work at the Medical Center. read more

I would not recommend this place to anyone! The doctor's in this so-call Medical Center doesn't care about their pateints. They don't even listen to your complaints, much less take care of them. I went in already having 3 ruptured disks and had fallen that day hard in my back yard. I had hit my head, as well as, my back. I even had my dvd results with me showing my ruptured disk. Dr. Duke didn't even look at it. He didn't acknowledge me hitting my head, even knowing I had a serious head trauma back in 2001. Dr. Samson was my primary care doctor, who was there that day and seen my husband almost caring me to the examining room. He never even came in to say hello, much less, how I was doing. This place is a JOKE to the medical profession. I have heard around town that they have been in trouble before for not caring for their patients. Something should be done about these people and the way they treat their pateints. If doctor's didn't care about people, then the only reason they went to medical school was for the easy money. If you want to die, then be my guest and go to this Medical Center, because they will make sure it happens. Anyone know of a good doctor around this area that cares? The review given by Jeanne G. on the LLP listing hits the nail on the head. This place should be shut down. Their office manager, Ms. Margie Warnock, was no help at all to any of my many inquiries and I EVEN HEARD HER LAUGHING ABOUT AND TELLING HER GROUP OF COWORKERS OF A PATIENT'S MEDICAL HISTORY while I was paying my bill! When talking to her, she sounded very unprofessional and couldn't even speak with proper grammar. When I was there to pay my bill, she was wearing a ragged t-shirt and blue jeans which both were too small for her. I thought health care workers were supposed to dress in a somewhat professional manner. I've only had trouble in the past dealing with this place, and the doctors there shouldn't be called doctors at all, especially Duke, Shuman, Garner, and Tate. I have been seen by those four, and every time I felt as if they weren't even listening to me. I've seen physician assistants with more sense than the doctors at the medical center. When trying to pay my balance and my co-pay, I was waited on by Donna Stewart. She honestly didn't know anything about her job, was too busy trying to carry on a conversation with a co-worker across the room, and I WAS EVEN DOUBLE CHARGED FOR MY VISIT BY HER!
