My wife tried another doctor, closer to where we live, who has an excellent reputation near Atlanta but discovered Dr. Vangala is more thorough; she abandoned the closer doctor to return to Dr. Vangala's practice. Dr. Vangala has performed his own allergy tests for years. He recently hired a skilled nurse to do those, but he still "reads" the results himself. (Other doctors rely on the nurses to do the testing from start to finish). He is gentle and kind with the children. His treatment approach has been conservative and effective for our family. My wife did a series of allergy immunotherapy shots with his office for several years. The shots took a couple of years to be effective, but she hasn't had any sinus infections since using the shots. Before the shots, she had severe sinus infections at least twice a year, and sometimes it took multiple rounds of increasingly high-powered antibiotics & even oral steroids to clear them up. Now one of our daughters is taking the shots and has experienced improvement in her response to the allergen. Dr. Vangala is always professional and caring.Some of the office staff and nurses are friendly, some are not; We treat everyone with kindness and we are well-treated as a result, no matter if we are greeted with a smile or not. Last spring she visited Langford and was told she doesn't have allergies. They proceeded to do some other test for a grand total over $1k. I did some research myself and believe she's allergic to ragweed there. She's definitely allergic to something and it's a shame that you can't get straight answers from them.

They attempt to line you up with a multi-year series of literally hundreds of office visits to cure your allergy, requiring that you re-invent your life to revolve around their practice. But I only have moderate allergy symptoms for a couple of months each spring - can't you just give me a shot each year to help my pollen tolerance? "Sorry, we don't do that." Of course they don't - you can imagine how much more profit they make from booking your office visits by the hundreds rather than seeing you once each spring. After two hours and a significant copay, I left with a prescription for nasal spray. And then they wanted to book me for a follow-up visit to assess my condition - a follow-up to what?! You didn't do anything! A follow-up visit with this place? "Sorry, I don't do that."

Oh, by the way I have a disease that is aggravated by heat hope I don't tank from my high heart rate. And this is the second time I've come at 1 pm so it is NOT a rare occurrence. Is this your normal practice model? If so tell your patients when you schedule them so they can arrive late.

I know that antihistamines such as Zyrtec and Astiline nose sprays can affect the test and remained off of all allergy meds for 6 days (1 far more than the office had told me) before the test. And I had just gotten over a sinus infection as it was ragweed season. So none of this made sense. I contacted my insurance and they agreed that I should receive another allergy test and suggested an allergy doctor in Pooler. I called and was tested and was shown that yes, I still had allergies to mold, Ragweed , trees and grass and with high levels of allergies. I called this doctor's office and while explaining NP Wendy's nurse hung up on me. Fairly horrible care in my opinion. I suggested going elsewhere for medical care.
