5/5 for this place. I've been dealing with strep throat for the last week and a half. I know people typically do not want to deal with strep because they're scared of it. I've been getting strep since I was a child, and this is the best place I've been to in a pinch so far. I am fully aware that it is contagious and that I need to get on antibiotics ASAP! I used the "fast track" option and I was there for maaaaybe 30 minutes? It was so fast. They instantly knew I was sick and sent me off with the prescription that I knew I needed. I really dislike when walk-in clinics tell me that I don't know what I'm doing. The Doctors here listened to me and confirmed my suspicions. It was fast and easy. I got my antibiotics and was able to leave. I was treated respectfully as well! Thank you! Oh! My partner and I also got our annual flu shots here quick and easy! Took 2 minutes! This place does the best flu shots haha - so nice and fast. read more

I have been going to this medi- center for about 9 years or so. I have since moved from downtown to the west end and still make the trip downtown to go to this Medi-Center. I've personally never had a problem with the staff at this clinic . If I'm honest, when I sit in the waiting room and see what they have to deal with all day I can honestly say I wouldn't be able to tolerate it. It's a tough job to work at a downtown clinic and if the staff are cranky from time to time I can understand that. My doctor is Dr. David Wingnean. Dr. Wingnean is the reason I was willing to sit in this waiting room for and hour or more each time I went. Dr. Wingnean has always referred me to the necessary specialists and exhausted all options to determine a solution when I have a medical concern. I couldn't be happier with my service and have recommended him to anyone I know looking for a great physician. I honestly feel he goes above and beyond the basic expectations of a physician. I feel genuinely cared about when I visit this Dr, and have no plans to change physicians based on my residential location. I think that in and of itself says a lot. Dr. Wingnean now takes appointments so it is a lot easier to see him in a timely fashion. I always make appointments on Thursday, so I am not sure what other days you can book appointments with him . read more

If you end up getting dr. Starko he's completely useless, don't waste your time sitting at this clinic to see him. I waited over an hour to get results to a very sensitive situation to which required a prescription to which I was replied to " I don't deal with this I work up north" - didn't offer to find a place I could go for my very sensitive situation, nothing. cut me off three times when I was trying to give him information, the pharmacists were more helpful and did more legwork than this lazy dickhead. Ugh... expect a serious wait if you need to go here. Well, the wait isn't so bad. You can expect to wait anywhere. Here though, you're waiting for a rushed visit from a doctor who really doesn't care because the waiting room is full of the kind of people you'd expect to see in a downtown medicentre. It's better than nothing, although sometimes they close early or don't open at all due to doctor shortages. read more

Naively booked a Fast Track appointment in advance, never having been to a Medicentre before. I thought this appointment, for 3pm, would guarantee me somewhat faster service than being a walk in. It didn't. An hour past my appointment time, I was still waiting to get in. All to get a prescription refill that would end up taking 30 seconds once I saw the doctor. People who walked-in after me got in before me. As for my actual experience with the staff - my nurse and doctor were actually quite nice, but rushed as all other reviews have stated. 'Fine' for a simple request but I'd never go for a serious concern. read more

Not my regular doctor but tonight I went to see Dr. Alnegratt for a couple of prescriptions cause my doctor was done for the day. He is fantastic! Very thorough, friendly and puts you at ease immediately. Only downside, the gal answering the phones and checking patients in needs some training on how to treat people. I always try to avoid this clinic, preferring instead to go to the Downtown Medical Clinic or the Jasper Avenue Medical Clinic, both just blocks away. But as I am hobbling with ankle pain, those extra blocks didn't seem advisable today. However, after waiting over an hour and my number to check-in still hasn't been called - not my number to see a doctor, but just my number to check in!!! - I wonder if I shouldn't have hopped on a bus to go to a clinic that actually values its patients. This Mediclinics location has a staff that refuses to acknowledge you to answer any questions "until [they] call your number". I won't ever come back here. I am contemplating leaving now. But then it's an hour of my life totally wasted. read more

If your expecting good customer service and no drama in the doctors office don't come here. The staff is all middle aged woman that are rude, yell at customers, say words like "to bad", and as soon as you sit down they will talk about you to either other staff or patients and call you out. Thankfully this has not happened to me but I've witnessed it many times in this location and the staff is beyond unprofessional. If I had a choice to go somewhere else I would, but when you need to see a doctor, beggars can't be choosers. Customer service is clearly not on antibodies mind in the clinic. Some doctors are great, some are dismissive and ridiculous; in particular Dr. Wingnean, who said a persistent strep infection/tonsillitis (diagnosed by another doctor at the same clinic the week prior) could just be food on the tonsils and allergies (though I have never had allergies and had just finished a course of penicillin for tonsillitis the week prior..) Bizarre, and a waste of time. This medical clinic is like a Winners for doctors. read more

I am a regular patient here, and my GP is Dr.Hassan. She is excellent. However the clinic is horrible. With an appointment booked, I have still had to wait to see the Dr. for up to 4hrs. There was no explanation, and there is zero customer service. If you want to book an appointment, you have to go through a switch board, and they are not helpful at all. There is no way to contact the clinic directly, and they will not provide you with wait times etc. The only reason I go there is because I like the location and my GP. Really wish this system could be revamped as at the moment it is horrible. read more

This Medicentre has one of the best doctors I have ever had the fortune to take me on as a patient, Dr. Wingnean. He's smart, no nonsense, caring, quick,and precise. I love it that he doesn't try to push drugs onto every situation. He encourages me to be pro-active in my own recovery and he always asks if I have any questions for him. I called the Medi-Centre in Sherwood Park located in the Rexall Store on Baseline Road as I needed a dressing change & my surgeon was on holidays & I didn't want to drive into Edmonton to have this attended to. I was just wanting to find out what hours they were open & much to my surprise the agent on the line said she would book me a fast track apt. so I wouldn't have to wait. I couldn't believe it !!!!! When I got there... a R N by the name of Darlene took me immediately removed my dressing,cleaned up my incision got the Dr. in to make sure I had no infection. She immediately applied a new dressing. All the staff were pleasant , professional & great to deal with... especially the R N Darlene. We are fortunate to have this facility in Sherwood Park which provides us with such superior Medical Service. Thank You all. read more
