After I finished that appointment, I met with James, the physical trainer. He is quite possibly the least professional personal trainer I've ever met. He blamed my fatness on eating desserts, told me to workout 1-2 hours any day I have dessert, talked over me, and referred to modified push-ups as "girl push-ups". Extremely bad experience with him. All in all I decided I did not want to return

Core Life helped me get back on my health and wellness track when I really needed it. As an overweight / obese person since childhood, I tried many diet / exercise / wellness plans over the years. Core Life advertises the 4 discipline approach which coordinates medical treatment, nutritional guidance, behavioral health support, and exercise. It is one of the best programs I have ever encountered. The clinicians and office staff at the Frederick Core Life location are awesome. I'd like to give a special shout out to Behavior Specialist Shayna, NP Jessica, RD Ethan, and Exercise Specialist Jesse - you all provided me with insights that have helped me on my wellness journey! I have never encountered a billing error. And I'm grateful that the program is covered by Medicare and supplemental insurance.

My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Griswold for many years. She recently moved her practice…read moreto Frederick and we followed her there. The extra miles are well worth the trip to see her. Dr. Griswold is excellent in all she does. She does not rush you through treatment; nor let you leave until she's sure every concern has been addressed. I have had multiple cancers, both knees replaced, and numerous rare medical conditions that cause so many body aches, pains and the inability to move easily. Dr. Griswold, with each appointment, will examine, ask questions immediately know what to do to help relieve my pain. I've sometimes not even been able to succinctly describe my problems. Dr. Griswold has this unique gift of just examining the body and can quickly identify what is wrong. Once she's determined the areas of concern, she doesn't hesitate to begin therapy and treatments. Each treatment is specific to the patients problems. I've never left her office feeling like she missed something. Dr. Griswold will also give you instructions and/or information needed to help you continue therapy at home; as well as schedule follow up appointments needed to eradicate any further problems. Dr. Griswold also offers holistic care or advice on better food choices and overall wellness programs to keep your body healthy and finely working. Her new location is easy to get to. She is located inside a unique facility which has gym equipment too and can instruct or incorporate their use into your overall therapy plan. It is a state of the art facility that is very clean, quiet and offers an excellent relaxing experience for everyone. All in all, I have seen substantial improvements and progress in my physical and psychological wellbeing thanks to Dr. Griswold's knowledge and dedication to her work and care of her patients. OH - did I mention my husband feels the same way? He is always amazed at how much better he feels after a session with Dr. Griswold. Highly recommended!!

In April 2011 I decided to make a change…read more Why I did this - - A trip to my doctor brought news of high blood pressure (borderline medication); high cholesterol (the bad kind); over a healthy weight (minimum 10 lb. loss required); and an inflamed liver... - I was losing my natural ability to multi-task and remain focused while still achieving my desired results across the multiple projects I was working on - It was becoming increasingly difficult to get up and get my day started as my nights were restless and sleep was limited What I did - - Worked out twice a week with Grant Hill of MyBootcamp with less focus on cardio and more attention to sculpting the entire body with tools such as TRX Suspension Training and Rip Trainer, a fire hose, sledge hammer, and a 60 lb. tire - After the first month I added in a weekly spinning class and either pilates or yoga to keep my body challenged - Read books like Primal Blueprint by Mark Sisson and Why We Get Fat by Gary Taubes re-educating myself and challenging what conventional wisdom tells us about what we should eat - Treats are certainly allowed but for the most part I eliminated grains -- wheat, oats, barley, rice, corn, flax, etc. -- and avoided processed foods, anything with sugar What I didn't do - - Give up my wine -- this wasn't a suicide mission - Count calories -- I ate every time I was hungry - Excessive cardio -- focus was on strength training with occasional bursts of cardio - Avoid egg yolks and red meat as you are usually advised when watching cholesterol -- I ate more that I did previously What did I get after three months? - Dropped 20 lbs. - Lower blood pressure eliminating the need for medication - Lower bad cholesterol, back in the safe zone ...and my liver returned to normal. That was over a year ago and I'm still 20 lbs lighter than when I started - AND my last physical has me still in great health! Working with Grant was a life changing experience for me. His kind nature and genuine care for his clients is evident in how he advises and trains each individual. It wasn't just me! I've had a half dozen friends work with Grant after watching my transformation and the chain keeps growing - Love it :)

MyBootcamp is hands down one of the BEST workouts in the DC area. If you're looking to get harder,…read morebetter, faster, stronger in the most efficient and functional way possible - MyBootcamp is it. I first met Grant at his indoor cycling classes at Revolve, and his rides were and always are mentally and physically tough. I had started to build up my endurance and strength through cycling, but the thought of trying out MyBootcamp was still intimidating. I mean, c'mon - I saw pictures of MyBootcampers pulling tires, slamming firehoses, and tossing sandbags. I thought I wouldn't survive my first session last March, but afterward I actually felt like a complete badass. I whipped that firehose and learned how to properly do kettlebell swings, among other things. Plus I was the only girl there (thanks Matteo, Rob, and Neal for letting me kick your butts that day :). (Side note: most sessions are filled with fit, athletic and attractive ladies, so all the single men in DC should definitely sign up... just sayin' ;) ) Four months later and I'm incredibly proud of how strong I've become because of MyBootcamp. Grant and Chris have taught me how to really push myself mentally and physically. They know exactly when and how to push me to get past my comfort zone, and because of that, my endurance/strength/mobility levels are at the highest they've ever been. Now I'm addicted to improving those levels with each workout, and my two favorite "Grant-isms" that stick with me every time are 1) There is never perfection, only progress; and 2) Being strong is only good if it's actually useful. Other things that I love about MyBootcamp? I love that the workouts are outdoors; I love the camaraderie; I love the new mobile app which makes managing your MyBootcamp addiction even easier; and most importantly, I love how much Grant and his team care about you. Thank you, Grant and the MyBootcamp team - I couldn't be more thankful.
