Had a scheduled appointment at MedWise in Bixby and arrived on time with my son. We were still sitting in the lobby 45 minutes past our appointment while walk-ins were taken back first because they had "been waiting longer." That makes appointments meaningless. No communication, no respect for our time, and very frustrating--especially with a child. If walk-ins are prioritized, MedWise should be honest about it instead of offering appointment times. read more

Giving credit where credit is due!!! 5*Star Customer Service to Med Wise Billing, specifically Ashlee and Makayla! I phoned Med Wise Billing after receiving a third party lab bill. Although I had provided my primary and secondary insurance at my office visit, I received a lab bill which only referenced filing with my primary. I wanted to verify Med Wise had forwarded both insurance(s) to the lab. Initially, I left a voice mail and Makayla returned my call within five minutes! Since her return call went to my voice mail, I phoned again and spoke to Ashlee. She explained Med Wise' processes with third parties, such as a lab. And they do provide all patient, insurance(s). I was happy knowing Med Wise had established "processes" and felt confident it had been done correctly. In turn, she asked that I reach out to the lab to inquire. Upon reaching out to the lab, they confirmed having received both insurance(s), but failed to file with my secondary. She apologized and said it would be taken care of! I was elated and phoned Med Wise Billing to thank Ashlee and Makayla again for their impeccable customer service and professionalism! Daughter works for a non-profit cat rescue and got bitten at work 2 nights ago. Hand is now completely red, swollen and feverish, and she is in a lot of pain. She attempted to be seen at a different clinic prior to going to MedWise. The 1st clinic did not accept her insurance (BCBS) which is already weird. I contacted MedWise BA to ensure they accept our insurance. They confirmed they do. Daughter went to MedWise and they told her since it is work related either she - or her employer - will have to pay $180 up front in order to be seen. MedWise then told daughter they would not accept her insurance for a work related injury. We did not plan to file a workers comp claim or request her employer pay for any of it. Our insurance covers everything 100% - no copay, no deductible, no premium...guaranteed payment to provider. Why on earth would we pay out of pocket when we have insurance to cover it? Why on earth would we ask her employer to cover the cost when it will already be paid for? Daughter left - without being seen and without treatment. She is now on her way to the ER - so she can RECEIVE CARE - because MedWise BA was negligent and denied her care - due to a technicality. What happened to patient centered care? Especially when you are guaranteed payment by an insurance company and you are not guaranteed payment through a Workers Comp claim - which she never planned to file to begin with. This is so new and nice, inside and out. There are about 10 designated parking spots in the back for Covid testing. I do recommend you call first to make an appointment. We arrived at about 9:45. They open at 10 on Sunday so we were the first/only people here when they opened at 10. We were told the first available time for "walk-in" was at 11.15. No one here but us. A couple of people that obvious knew the drill came in about 15 minutes later and got right in. With that all said they got my husband in by 10:20. The service was excellent and for someone that is miserable around all doctors, this couldn't have gone any better! read more

This is the absolute worst urgent care we have ever been to. They refused to listen to my husband's issues or give treatment that always worked in the past.​ He had to leave and go to another urgent care the next morning and was given the exact treatment we asked for. He also tested positive for strep at the other urgent care. The practioner wanted to give him cough syrup and send him home. No telling how much money we wasted. Just spoke with them. Got attitude and was told for 5 mins that they couldn't attend to my medical issue, then once I asked further questions she said yes I could come in and they could attend to me. I was respectful but assertive in asking questions and asking detailed questions and she didn't like it. Disrespectful, unprofessional, and shameful patient care. Receptionist shamed me regarding my medical issue and questions then hung up on me. I will go elsewhere. read more

First off let me start off by saying the people people here are amazing and are extremely polite. This review isn't directed towards anyone. So I get a upper respiratory infection about twice a year, once in the Spring and once in the Fall. As Spring hit I started feeling it coming. I was getting my cough, congestion, and constant clearing of the throat. So I go in to get ahead of it because based if I let it go it will get very bad. I get checked and I'm diagnosed with GERD. Completed shocked because I have never been diagnosed with that before I go ahead get the medication and go to the store to get GERD friendly food. Several days go by and I'm getting worse, I'm getting hot/cold flashes, I'm coughing ALOT more to the point it's uncontrollable, so I go back to Medwise. This time they tell me it's allergies, so they give me a list of OTC medication to get and spend roughly $150 on OTC medication. Go home and let it take it's course. Once again several days later I'm feeling even worse, now I can't hear out of my left ear and have severe pressure in it, I can't smell, I'm coughing up green mucus all day long and my voice is extremely hoarse due to my lungs having fluid in them. This time they decide to take X-rays and determine I now have pneumonia. Now I'm pissed because the first time I came in I tried to tell them I had an upper respiratory infection but they misdiagnose me for GERD. It took 3 revisits before they finally got it right except it only took me getting severely sick. I finally get proper medication and I'm able to overcome it about a week later (2 week of being sick) however I'm still fighting this ear infection so they instruct me to go see an ear, throat, and nose doctor. At the same time my wife starts to get sick and guess where she goes, Medwise. What do they tell her? That it's just allergies and that pneumonia isn't contagious. Well folks I'm here to tell you it is because she got it too and we work from home so we rarely leave the house. Fast forward to a month and a half later I'm feeling mostly like myself again however I still have fluid behind my inner ear and the ear doctor has mentioned about having to put a tube in my ear drum to drain it out. I have NEVER had an ear infection in my life and I firmly believe had Medwise properly diagnosed me I wouldn't have had to go through all of this and spend the hundreds of dollars on medication that did absolutely nothing for me. Thankfully I have health insurance so they covered the majority of my visit fees minus the copay. That's another thing yes I had to pay each time for another diagnosis because they misdiagnosed me. Absolutely ridiculous, and what's even better is after I told my ear doctor where I was misdiagnosed so many times their response was they were not surprised that any time someone needs to go to urgent care they will always refer them to a different urgent care. All of this all because they wouldn't listen. I may not be a doctor but I do know my body. read more

This place is terrible. My son went in for a possible broken foot. They did X-rays and told him it was broken and he needed to wear a boot for 6-8 weeks. We requested the X-rays for our Dr several times and they would not send. We finally got the radiology report from the portal and it clearly says his foot is NOT broken!! Unbelievable. The girl that answers the phone is very rude and refused to let me speak with a manager/supervisor. I've never had an experience like this with health care...ever! Will be filing a complaint with the state, as well. read more

Worse experience I've ever had a medical facility. DO NOT go here. I have so much anxiety about going to the doctor after this. I was super sick with covid and I do have multiple autoimmune issues. They thought I was lying about having covid. They weren't going to test me. She said she didn't understand why it's been around over 3 years and this is the first time I'm getting it. I was caught so off guard. I was so confused and super sick. I was having a lot of chest pains at the time and I told them that but they just ignored me when I said that. I just talked to them because they were trying to charge me 380 dollars and they said the provider was not credentialed yet. This was an insane experience. I really hope she's let go but I know that's not the way things work. I would stay far away. read more

As a former employee, I would not recommend working here. In the first couple months you are treated well as an employee. Although that quickly changes to an autocrat type of employer that they make very obvious that you are "just a number". This urgent care is ran very close to the same model as the QT gas stations... MedWise needs to look at a different approach rather than running the company like a gas station. I was thankful to work with great medical providers and managers but the corporate office makes changes almost daily and at times it feels like you have to learn a new realm of the job when you come in to work that day, no matter what you say or suggest, your opinion is looked over. It is very apparent that MedWise is more worried about making money off of patients rather than care for their medical needs. The turn over rate (especially for medical providers) is terrible which should speak for itself. The clinics are often closed due to staff shortages. If they treated employees better, they might not have to close clinics as often. Clinics that are built and ready to use are not open for the reason of staff provider shortages. I truly hope to see them do better in the future. read more

The nurse and medical staff who were attending to me were very knowledgeable and helpful. They wanted to make sure that their solution really did work for me. I recommend this urgent care! I've been here twice now and had family members looked at by two different doctors and both times were very positive experiences for my family. They get you in pretty promptly, doctors/ medical team are all professional and do appropriate testing and treatment. Finding a good urgent care can be quite difficult, but we take the time to drive a bit farther just to go here, because it's better to get proficient, attentive medical treatment than waste time and money at a poorly operated urgent care across the street.
