Who doesn't like chocolate? (4) The salon is baby friendly and very relaxed, so if you have kids you can bring them along. (5) You can book online so there's no awkwardness of phoning up and explaining what wax you want. (6) There's a big jar of sweets on the desk and you can help yourself on the way out. She has wonderful bedside manner and chatted with me throughout the entire appointment. I received a Hollywood wax and from start to finish, Marta prompted me what she was going to do before she did it and what she will follow up with next. She was able to get every single hair and was very thorough (getting a couple of strays with a tweezer). The waxing was pain free and the results of the wax is silky smooth. I got a warm welcome from Janina, my therapist, who was lovely and friendly throughout. They use lycon hot wax and the rooms are extremely tidy and clean. Therapists wear gloves and there is no dipping the stick back into the wax. The best thing about the set up is that there is a tv in each room where you'll be lying back and watching Sex and the City episodes while your wax takes place. An amazing distraction from the job at hand! The hot wax was quick, about 20 minutes, very painless and thorough. Best of all, it's a complete steal. Cheapest place I've found in London. You can make an appointment by calling on the phone - I wish they would take appointments online, but it's okay. It hurt like buggery of course, actually no, waxing hurts much more than buggery, as I'm sure most of this salons clients know. But I was left with no bruising or blood as can be the case with a bad wax. I was very impressed with how thorough the procedure was, there were tweezers, and I was even offered a going over with the razor "if I'd like". I declined... A week later its still good, and the lotion they sold me to stop in grown hairs appears to have worked a charm, but that could also just be the quality of the waxing. She also was from Italy and many people that came in spoke Italian and it seemed nearly all the staff spoke Italian as well. It created a great European atmosphere and I just loved it. I went to this spa using a voucher from Wahanda for a friend and me to go for a 2 for 1 Pure Relaxation Spa Day Experience. The wet facilities were superb with a huge Jacuzzi, Sanarium, Salt inhalation room and Aroma steam room. They also sported a pool, ice chute and some very unusual showers. Slippers and robes were provided as well as lots of lovely fluffy towels. The treatments were in warm relaxing rooms and the beauticians were well informed and professional. I came away gleaming from head to toe (I sampled a mini massage, facial and pedicure), feeling serene and with the impression that I had seen how the other half live. My only criticism was that the restaurant was a little pricey (our vouchers included lunch which was actually a set price lunch voucher, so we had to spend more) but I would highly recommend the pumpkin salad which was extremely tasty. All round this was a thumbs up from me.
