The customer service is what you'd expect from a small town market, personalized and friendly. They offer monthly meat bundles that are budget friendly. Their brats will put, Johnsonville Brats to shame and Jimmy Dean's sausage cannot hold a candle to their sausage. Proof that buying local is a good thing. Some of their brands are generic, but with today's economy that is a good thing. There are lots of single little coolers around the store, filled with perishable products. Take note of the prepared foods near the butcher counter. You'll find some delicious side dishes for those tasty brats. Another end-cap to check out, is their branded spices. They're just as good as those expensive name brand spices. If you haven't shopped the aisles of Schwegel's, I recommend you correct that ASAP. You just might become a frequent shopper.

They will bag your groceries and take them right to your vehicle. Questions about cheese, they have a person for that. It doesn't matter which isle you're in, someone who works there will be in your isle too, and ready to display their full knowledge about all the products they're in charge of. It's almost perfectly nostalgic for the way some perfect little places used to operate. You have to support all the local places who treat you with dignity and that something extra you can't quite put your finger on. It was showing a much higher price . We took the 50.00 bike to return desk to see if they could sell it to me for price showing where the bike was in the rack .I was told that they did not have the authority to do so, that manager would make that determination. I asked if I could speak with him. The desk called for him to talk with me. About 15 minutes later a person walked up . His personal appearance lead me to believe he was a customer not the manager. I asked him if I could buy the bike for the price that was listed . In no certain terms was he willing try to work with me . I went home and contacted Godfrey Walmart and was able to get a bike shipped to me that slightly cheaper for $50.00.Very bad experience !!!

The customer service was top notch. The shelves were always well stocked. My local Walmart now is referred to as "the out of stock store." If you have a list you are guaranteed to leave with only 2/3 of the things on that list as my current Walmart WILL be out of stock. My local Walmart must have a beacon atop of it that calls out to all those crazy "people of Walmart" to go there. We have more than our share of these people. We may have 2-3 lanes open. All the serve yourself checkouts are open. Those checkouts are backed up because no one wants to wait in the couple other services lanes actually open. Many of the staff are rude or cranky. Who could blame them? Working in those conditions. Enjoy your good Walmart because they're not all that way. We quit going except when we feel we have no choice....maybe once every couple months.

Why is this department ALWAYS like this?? Come to find out that the department manager only schedules 2 employees to actually do all the work. They need no less than 3 IMO. There were many people there in the same position as me. This continued problem falls directly on the stores GM. Make changes to show the customer is more important than your bonus and everyone wins. But they way things are run in the automotive department can't continue.

Wow, this place is incredible!…read more I spend a lot of time in the area at a little vacation home, and I am so mad that I've been going to the crappy town IGA instead of this place for so long. We go through a fair amount of produce each week, so when I heard about Wayne's I decided to give it a try - hoping for both better prices and better quality. I was totally blown away! It's incredibly well-kept and well-organized, and they have a ton of items that IGA doesn't. My favorite part is the "value bags" they have available - for just $19.95, you get a reusable tote bag filed with all types of fruits and vegetables. Check out the photo I uploaded... you won't believe how much I actually got for the price! It made us try new things we don't always eat, too. They also have a butcher attached, fresh local eggs, dairy, and more. One thing to note: if you're using a credit card, it does have to be for over $15. I can find unique items that you do not see at other grocers. I am wanting to eat healthier this year and this department is helping me achieve that goal. Another department that I enjoy is the, Deli and Prepared Foods. I have ordered from the prepared foods department for many of my parties. It makes life so much easier and everyone loves the appetizers. The butcher/meat department is as impressive as the produce. Also, the Dierbergs label is just as good as a name brand and it helps you save money on your total bill. If you're a drinker, the liquor department is a mini liquor store located inside a grocery store. The variety of wine and beer is huge. If you over drink and do something stupid, you can use Dierbergs florist to help get yourself out of trouble. The staff on the floor are helpful when I cannot find what I am looking for and the cashiers are friendly and move the lines quickly. Reminder: The store is in Edwardsville, so take your own bags, otherwise you'll be paying 10¢ a bag.

It summarizes their advice to businesses that have diversified so much that they've diminished the value they once provided in their most basic services. Here's why the phrase comes to mind in reference to D-Edwardsville. Years ago when it opened, it became my first-choice grocer, a moderately expensive but close-to-home alternative to specialty grocers in St. Louis. We could find nearly everything we really needed there, including gluten-free items. I was particularly happy that the fish counter offered fresh and previously frozen items that were as good as those I picked up 30 - 40 miles away. In recent months, I've been less enthused to shop at D-Edwardsville. Whereas the traffic flow of the east end used to draw attention of the shopper toward produce, deli, fish, and meat, now attention is drawn just as much toward the prominent placement of an expanded and generally high-priced wine-liquor section. The produce selection rarely seems as good as Schnuck's or Walmart. And the fish counter that I used to love is now a place I avoid, especially after some bad fish purchased during the yearend holidays. So bad that citrus juice and even alcohol rinse (with sake) could not save it. I imagine Edwardsville grocery competition is stiff these days, and D has a difficult challenge retaining market share and making a profit. I sympathize with the dilemma, but from my perspective, more alcohol or a phone app with coupons won't make much of a difference. In my opinion, flawed as it may be, I'll be muttering quietly as I roll my cart out the door, "Stick to the knitting.
