I have never seen a better, fresher selection of Goats Cheese, olives, fresh fish and meat, organic produce, whole meal pastas, deli salad bar and a load more beside. I was so impressed I cant wait to go back. McAnerneys kick Tescos butt for sure! Ample car parking and easy to get to this is a real gem in the otherwise abysmal 'city' of Armagh, if a few other traders were as forward thinking as these guys the big guns in the food industry would need to watch out. A modest sized store (but then size ain't everything boys...) but it is jammed packed with bargains and good offers, and I defy you to get better service. All you could want in a supermarket, so ok lets break it down here. Ample FREE parking Friendly staff Huge selection of grocery and non grocery items Fantastic meat counter Post office within Great deals on everyday items As well as this the staff will help you out with larger items, and they have a brilliant outdoor/diy section out the back where you will get everything from BBQ tongs to coal buckets to rat traps. I highly recommend Hunters, I know for a fact many have abandoned the bigger chains for the convenience and ethos to shop locally, and I cant blame them, this is a great store and that is obvious by its huge customer base. There's fruit, veg, chilled and frozen sections, cards, stationary, a deli counter and an off licence in store. You'll also find a petrol station, car wash and restaurant (The Scullery) on site. Overall a bit similar to an Applegreen Service Station. Unfortunately I just don't like it. Every item's ridiculously overpriced and the grocery selection isn't particularly extensive. Nor is there anything here you wouldn't get in other standard supermarkets. Plus, apart from a token couple of soya milk cartons and Quorn packets the vegetarian and vegan options are virtually nonexistent. I'll not be rushing back.

It's very hard to criticise a place that's great value with mostly quality food. That said I only…read morebuy a few items here - for fresh I go for fillet steak, pork fillet, chicken breast and pork mince (5% fat). So all meat is from Irish farms and I believe the quality of Irish meat is always excellent. The fillet steak is 32 day dry aged. Most steak in the USA is wet aged which is cheaper and produces an inferior product. For frozen it's their Greenland cold water prawns. They are again wonderful quality and taste. The last day I was there they were selling snow peas at 49 cents a bag and 500gm of red grapes at €1.29. Wonderful value for great produce and they often have real deals on fresh veg. So I bought a half dozen of each. The new normal is that you may have to stand outside a while as numbers are now limited. This is ok in an Irish summer (which this year is lousy). They provide hand sanitizer on entry. The only other downside is that they don't have many check out staff so again you can queue there a while too but it's the rub of the green here as the prices are so competitive.

I adore Sainsbury's Nut Cutlets and their own brand vegetarian mince is the best you'll get anywhere. Sainsbury's also stock a brilliant range of soy, coconut and nut milks as well as soya yogurts. You can get your parking ticket stamped in-store which allows you to park free if doing a grocery shop. They also sell clothes and a full range of 'free from' items if you want dairy or gluten free food. I highly recommend the awesome in store made pizzas, breads and pastries. At Christmas and New Year Sainsbury's have a special range of fabulous food you can order and collect in store, I would especially recommend the: *Three nut roast with cranberry sauce *Butternut & mushroom en croute *Limoncello buche de Noel If you want indulgent, treat foods try Sainsbury's 'Taste The Difference' range. It's been a long time since I've been in an Asda and I didn't buy very much. This one is a very…read moresmall store by this organisation's standards, it's parent company is Walmart. Like so many places now customer numbers are limited and social distancing is imposed. There's a one way system around the store as it has narrow lanes, and if you go against it, and some did today, staff are very quick to chastise. That's how I observed them come across, officious rather than polite but I must always be polite to these front line workers as they are minimum wage and their parent company isn't generous to them despite having a near £800 million operating income in 2016 (the last date of published figures.) My wife wanted to buy some of their own brand cleaning products as apparently they are very effective. So I bought junk food, savoury stuff like crisps and nuts. I followed my wife into the store as I first went to the local bakery next door to pick up a takeaway cappuccino. They had the check out tills well organised with a staff member dedicated to directing customers as check-outs freed up so we didn't have to queue too long to pay and go.

Carpark is ok but it also be used for people visitng other parts of kilkeel as parking in kilkeel is hard to find thus. in the store it is well laid out, very clean but they always weem to be packing shelves with trolleys ect blocking what you are tryin gto get at and no one around around to move them for you. another downside to this store is it has no toilets and the staff make it very clear for health hygeine and safety customers are not allowed to use theirs and ther eare no toilets nearby that would be handy if you really neede to use them. baby changing and disabled toliets are also not catered for. it also has no Goerge so for people whjo love the george label you will have to travel to downpartic which has verything asda in kilkeel does not have plus more. a large store like this should cater to the modren day public unfortunatley kilkeel is still way behind in the dark ages with this store.
