Worst health care experience I've ever had in my entire life - seriously. I just returned from the Valley Health Urgent Care center in San Jose, CA for back pain. I talked to the medical resident for a while who then went off to talk to Dr. Jain. After 4 minutes they both returned and I thought I would get heard by the doctor, but as I was describing my experience and situation she looked totally uninterested like she had already made up her mind, and then she began interrupting and disputing everything I said to the point it is almost crazy-making. If you've ever been in pain and not only ignored by a doctor, but looked at like you are a drug addict and anything you say is interrupted and disputed you would know just how it amplifies your pain, and is humilitating and depressing. I had an experience with back pain so intense like this 20 years ago and was given a short course of pain meds that allowed me to get up and around to work and life enough that my back recovered. She refused to even think about it or give me any alternatives, cut me off and left. ???? I am determined to do whatever I can to be heard on this issue. I've read article after article about how doctors are supposed to be taking patients pain complaints seriously on the one hand, but it is an absolute horror to be sitting there in pain while a person who has encountered you for all of several minutes judges you while you are in pain and makes you feel like a criminal. I got a complaint form, which one cannot enter from the web or email - to make it as hard as possible, and I intend to fill it out, as well as try to find some managers of authority at Valley Health Care to explain and complain to. This is unacceptable, and on top that regardless of my experience she is paid by insurance for providing 5 minutes of misery, and abuse. I have not been on Yelp now, maybe for years, but I am starting here. If anyone reads this and knows of an agency to complain to, or somewhere where real concerned medical professionals take their patients seriously please message me. This woman is awful - rated 0/5 ( side note - if drug addition is such a danger why is there not a system that tracks how much and what medication a person has been prescribed, what they have taken, and then with proof make fact-based decisions and not just assume everyone is lying or seeking drugs? I have not had needed or had any pain medications prescribed for over 20 years - the last thing I am is a drug abuser - and it is offensive and outrageous for a doctor not to provide relief. If I then kept coming back week after week, then she might have some basis for calling out a problem, but not for no reason when someone is in pain. ) read more

A doctor that really cares! I almost don't want to brag about her because I love that I can still get in to see her rather easily. Had to go in for a health issue (I'd go into it, but you really don't need to know - I'd have to start passing out HIPPA forms). She was off the day I called and the front office staff offered to have me see another doctor in the practice (kudos for that). I wasn't in that much of a hurry so I waited until a couple of days later. It's been a few months, but first thing she did was ask me how my husband was doing with his new job. Wow, I mean, Wow, she remembered that?!? Nice! She is quick, but thorough when she meets with you and is willing to go the extra mile for you. She noticed I didn't have the same positive demeanor the first time I met her and was really good about pointing out I need to take care of myself mentally as well as physically - because they are connected you know. I love that she isn't just telling you what to do, she is having a conversation about you with you. She will take really good care of you. Just be open with her and all will be well. read more

It was easy to get an appointment with Dr. Jain but that's about all the good I can say about her practice. She doesn't return phone calls and her office staff is incompetent and entered my date of birth wrong in the computer, so records requests I tried to have ordered failed. I tried to follow up a lot - many calls over several days - but since she wouldn't return my calls, I eventually gave up on having her review lab results my ob/gyn didn't feel all that qualified to interpret. When she did finally call me back a week later, she seemed surprised that I hadn't seen a specialist for the problem with my foot - but hadn't recommended I do so and gave me a prescription that I thought would fix the problem. She even told me to ignore advice my acupuncturist had given me to address it and it was that advice that did in fact fix my plantar fasciitis. I should have gotten a new doctor before this week, when I just needed a really simple matter addressed that got worse because she once again would not return my phone calls. Don't go. read more

Absolutely incompetent and unprofessional. This woman should not be a doctor. After getting hit by a car as a pedestrian, she told me my pain wasn't real and I need to get over it. She assumed I was there for pills the second I told her about my accident and my pain. Because I had been hit by a damn car. I left appointments feeling hopeless and helpless. I don't know why or how this woman became a doctor. She doesn't care about her patients. She never once actually looked at me. Always staring down at her papers. Dr. Jain is by far the worst physician I have ever experienced. To be honest, I don't even know how she is in practice. It's that bad. I found her via Yelp because I was looking for a doctor that was close to my apartment, and I really don't want anyone else to make that mistake. Let's look at a few things that have happened over the past few years: - I had to go in about a week before having eye surgery for a pre-op. I was reading my printout on the way home, and I realized there were all of these prescriptions listed that I was not on. Going under anesthesia, that could have been a disaster. Your doctor should know what drugs you're on. Particularly 10 minutes after you speak with them. - My skin started breaking out. I didn't look like the before in a Proactive commercial, but I definitely had some blemishes thanks to a stressful new job. When I went to Dr. Jain she made a big production out of telling me that I really needed to "fix" my skin. She didn't care about what was going on with regards to mental or physical changes that would make a grown-ass adult randomly start getting acne, all she cared about was the fact that I looked like an uggo. She prescribed medication. I did not use said medication. A little bit of yoga here and there and a switch up of face wash brands... bam. Cleared up. - Likewise, when I dropped a couple of pounds, she told me that I had been a little "chubby" before but I looked good now. Again, no mentions of my health. She either thinks I'm super shallow or she missed her true calling as a plastic surgeon. - I went in once wearing slim-fitting jeans so I had to put on a pair of disposable medical shorts for my visit. She asked me to come into her office wearing said shorts because the computer in the exam room was down. She lead me down a long hallway filled with other patients while I struggled to keep the shorts from falling down to my ankles. When I told her I was embarrassed she seemed really confused and said, "I thought those were the shorts you wore into the office." Uhhhhhhh. - I stood 10-15 in line to check in before anyone even noticed me while she chatted with a pharmaceutical rep about bringing in lunch for the office. - It seems to me like she bought into whatever that pharm rep was pushing because she will run just about any unnecessary test to charge you more money. An EKG on a healthy woman in her 20s? Yeah okay. I also have a random $220 "medical care" charge for a basic office visit that I normally just owe a co-pay for. Every time I visit her office I leave seriously questioning her judgement. She's oblivious to the point where it doesn't seem like she's doing her job correctly. I'm honestly concerned that one of these times she is going to mess up really bad and the consequences are going to be serious. read more

This doctor charged me for services that in my opinion they did not provide. I tried repeatedly to dispute the charges but the parent company (SPMF) would only take her word for it, despite significant discrepancies (in my opinion). The company has now submitted the medical charge to debt collectors. In my opinion, Dr. Jain is a pretty awful doctor. She operates a high volume, low care practice with little regard for her patients. The billing practices are appalling. The standard of care is below par. This medical practice is representative of the worse aspects of the for-profit healthcare industry that puts profits above patients and milks every appointment for extra revenue, extra tests and extra insurance charges. read more

This doctor is the reason why I switched back to Kaiser! I went to see her a few times regarding some concerns I had a she would simply just print me handouts I can read at home. Don't know how that's useful when I can just google it myself. My ear was clogged once and she told me to come back and get my ear cleaned out. I misunderstood what she instructed to me and she got super mad at me cause I didn't put ear drops in my ears before I came which set her schedule back. Mind you she was already a hour late to my appointment and didn't even apologize. When I got back to work she called me and said "oh I forgot to tell you, your ears inside were red -you need to get drops". How can you just forget? How could such a person get her doctor license?????????? I'm almost sure all the 5-star reviews are fake and hired by Jain for posting the fake reviews!!!! I decided to move from Atena to Kaiser, simply because of Jain (I dont even want to call her a 'doctor'). And I believed I'm not the first person. I visited Jain as a new patient, and was treated like a kid, EVERYTHING I asked, she only said, "you are young, you are perfect". And she charged a good $200 for the 2min visit. She even said "why you want to visit at this time? Is it because you have a high-deductive plan and dont want to pay me out of pocket?" I appealed to the medical center and never heard back. I will go ahead suing her for the unreasonable billing and extremely bad behavior. Such a person as a 'doctor' is harmful to the patients, the employer, and the insurance company. Here behavior should be corrected, and she should be re-educated to get back to her position!!!! read more

Dr. Jain is a great listener and very thorough with her exam. She was kind and respectful to me and my family. I like that they are set up with email and she said she responds to them directly. They are also paperless. yay efficiency! The front staff are nice and I didn't have any issues. I like everything so far. 4 stars only because I am new patient. read more

Dr. Jain is wonderful. I am so glad I found her. She actually takes the time to talk to you about every question you have and respects you as an individual. She wants to make sure you are happy with how she is treating you and wants the best for you as her patient and a person. My husband is very hard to please when it comes to finding doctors so I took him along to one of my appointments. He was surprised to see the time Dr. Jain took with me even though I have been there a few times before, as well as her bedside manner. He is now a patient of hers as well as my best friend that just made a first visit appointment. By the way, the wait time is awesome. I have always been seen in less than 10 minutes and then again by the Dr. in just about the same time. The office staff is great as well. Luz remembers me everytime I call and tries to work around my schedule when making an appointment and getting all my records from previous Drs. offices. THANKS! I am so happy I have come across Jain. She has been my doctor for about 1 1/2 years since I moved up here for college. She is very attentive and a great listener. She communicates very well with me and is definitely patient oriented. She always makes the time to write me up official documents for whatever I need like TB forms, vaccination documents and blood titer documents so I can get cleared medically for all the internships and volunteering I partake in. Her staff is very efficient and friendly to be around. As well, they are paperless. Their online system is very efficient and when I send a message I get a reply quite quickly. I am so thankful to have her as my primary care doctor. read more

I can't believe all of the negative reviews for Dr Jain! I have been to numerous doctors in my years living in the city and she is the only general practitioner that I would recommend to people I care about. I've never had billing problems like others have mentioned, but a lot of people are saying she doesn't listen, which is not true at all! What you have to do is TALK to her, just go ahead, shoot off like she's your therapist or hairdresser and tell her what's wrong, because she will listen, take notes, and saves her questions for the end unless they are critical. Her bedside manner is no-nonsense and to the point, just the way I like it. I guess if you're used to being coddled by doctors it could be interpreted as cold, but she really is a smart, sweet woman. She complimented my eyeshadow even when I was super sick, she knew immediately just by listening to my symptoms that I had strep throat last year even though my throat wasn't sore (I gave her crap about it too saying she the doctor was wrong and me the accountant was right because I know my own body, whoops) and when I suffered a bout of insomnia, she made sure to address it - sometimes I think she cares more about my health than I do, which I haven't experienced since my childhood pediatrician. She is so easy to get in touch with, I don't know what the other Yelpers were talking about. The receptionists are really helpful, they can communicate messages to her if you ask, but the BEST way to get in touch is through e-mail on the Sutter Patient page. Whatever you write, SHE actually reads, not somebody from her staff - and she always responds, even if I'm just writing back to say thank you. read more

If I could give her no stars, I would. Dr. Jain didn't listen to what I told her, was not communicative, and seemed put out by the questions I asked her. I recently received an egregious bill from her, for which I was overcharged. So, not only did I have a horrible experience as a patient in her office, but now I am wasting time on the phone while my insurance company works with the doctor's office in order for me to be reimbursed for the money I overpaid for her mediocre services. Additionally, I had to return to the doctor's office THREE times and still ended up having to see another doctor before my problem was finally properly diagnosed and cured. She came to our appointment 30-40 minutes late and when I finally met her she just said, "Oh sorry, I thought it was at 2:30....." but she didn't really seem apologetic at all. Then when I told her my problems she chalked it up to Vitamin B because of her own personal experience. When I tried to ask her a question about the unknown longterm side effects, she said something about "Mexican's" thinking it works for colds. She proceeded to spend most of the time talking about sales/my discount at my job and when we were going to have a good sale and what days do I work. I thought this was extremely unprofessional as I am not a friend, I am a patient seeking medical advice. I was sitting in a chair, not on the table, and she walked up to me, stood extremely close, and started listening to my heart and touching my stomach (without notifying me first and while still talking about my job). I have never had a doctor that didn't first tell me why they were going to touch me (or even tell me they were) before doing so. All in all, it was easy to get an appointment with her, but not worth it because the staff and Dr Jain are extremely unprofessional. PS. The vitamin B12 she recommended makes me extremely nauseas, so thanks to her for wasting my time and money. read more

However I felt on both of my visits that I was rushed in and out and that Dr. Jain, although pleasant did not spend a whole lot of time with me, finding out my needs, finding out about my history etc. She's a fine Dr, I just was not overly impressed. read more

The worst bedside manner. She treated me like I was incompetent and didn't listen to my concerns. She talked about her personal life on a several occasions, and not in a way that related to me-her patient! She missed a major diagnoses that another doctor caught after I sought out another opinion. I hate to give negative reviews, but in terms of healthcare this one is warranted. Please save yourself the stress and potentially harmful misdiagnosis. Dr. Jain is very friendly doctor. Whenever I go there, we have a normal fun conversation which makes me feel better. Staffs are nice. One thing I want to mention is my appointment date was mistakenly announced in a wrong day so I had to make an another app and visit again. I have been coming here for 20 years? Maybe longer? I love the staff; all the doctor's I have seen there - especially Dr. Napoles. Dr. Jain has helped me so much - I can never begin to thank her for all she does! I am very happy to have found Dr. Jain to be my primary care doctor. She explains her treatments, is a good listener and answers every question, however minor, I posed to her. Dr. Jain returns my communications right away. She is patient-oriented and has good bed-side manners. I have excellent care with her. Dr. Jain would refer me to a specialist if she thinks I need one. She does followups to make sure I have the best options. Moreover, her staff is very efficient and professional. Her front desk receptionist handles multiple tasks at the same time. Her lab tech is incredible. I have small veins; instead of poking around trying to find a vein, she was able to draw blood with one swoop each time. Dr. Jain is dedicated to seeing her patients' health improve, provides healthcare solutions, and the well-being of her patients remains paramount. read more

Looking for a new doctor. All she seems to care about is that my son and I get our flu shots even after telling her each time that we never get the flu and have no interest in getting those shots. She doesn't examine thoroughly and does address our concerns. When I asked her to examine my throat she said my tongue was too big and she couldn't examine it! I recently found out that the large tongue and many other symptoms I have are a sign of a thyroid problem. The younger staff are unprofessional and spend more time talking about silly TV shows than working. read more

No starts!!! First visit was terrible. Did not help me at all. She just prescribed pills and handed me papers. Examination was terrible, not even an "examination" at all. When I reached to shake her hand, she looked at it and barely even touched it. How rude! Second visit was even worse. Showed up 30 min early to the appointment. Was not taken into the room until 20 after my appt. then when inside the room I waited another 40 minutes, during this time I kept hearing chatter and laughter for those 40 minutes. I walked out because I was fed up and I see her talking with a desk worker laughing. SERIOUSLY!? Then she says "oh" and finally goes into the room with me, only to prescribe me more medication and hand me papers. I need physical therapy and I asked her multiple times if she was sure that the physical therapy he was recommending would be covered by my insurance. She assured me it was, but later the week when I wanted to schedule I was told by that physical therapy office that I am not. What a waste of my time! Now I have to schedule and wait more time(weeks) to be seen again so that the doctor can give me more information. The hell I am coming back to see her. I don't know how other patients could say Dr. Jain "is a good listener?" At my first new patient appointment, she didn't take the time to read any of the forms I was asked fill out before coming into the room so she was clueless as to why I was there. She only listened to half of what I told her and wasn't that concerned about the things she did hear about. She prescribed medication she knows little about, She insisted that I get a flu shot and when I declined, "she got an attitude with me that was ridiculous!" Almost angry! She is not the right doctor for me and I plan to find another PCP as soon as possible. I wouldn't recommend her to other patients. read more

Dr. Jain has been my physician for several years now and I have found her to be a caring and thorough practitioner. She has shown competency in all aspects from her analysis of my symptoms to my treatments. She is friendly, efficient and caring. Her staff have always treated me with courtesy and care. I have tried to keep myself healthy by excersizing regularly and Dr. Jain has made several suggestions to stay healthy in other ways such as diet, supplements and using medications only when necessary. I recommend her to anyone who needs a helpful and thoughtful doctor. If you are dedicated to staying healthy, she is the right choice for you. read more

This doctor barely deserves one star. When I first met her, I thought she was nice until I told her I didn't want a flu shot. "She actually got mad at me because I refused to let her give me the shot! I couldn't believe her unprofessional attitude. On another visit, I had a specific medical problem that required a Urologist attention. She refused to listen to me and never gave me the referral to the specialist. I don't know where this doctor got her degree, but it's shocking how doctors like her are allowed to prescribe medication they know very little about. She knows nothing about chronic pain. I asked her specifically how long does Oxycontin take to start working (to see if she knew)? She answered with "3 hours", it actually takes 1 hour! After 3 visits with a doctor that not only doesn't listen, but doesn't know how to properly diagnose patients - I gave up and went back to UCSF.
