Overall, I think that this company is good, but if they cleaned the bathrooms it would have been better. it was cheap, so I suppose that it makes sense. And now...the rest of the story. The "bus stop" for Megabus in Mobile is an abandoned dirt lot. It's unlighted, unsecured, and there's no pay lots anywhere nearby that I could find to leave my car for the weekend. Fortunately, my car was not on blocks when I returned after two days. There are two buses (as of this writing) that go to ATL - one at about noon, another at about midnight. You need to know that you're only allowed one bag (under 50 pounds) and one carry-on, which has to fit under the seat in front of you. The buses are double-decker, which is pretty swank. The bottom floor is "reserved" for those needing extra help, disabled, and the like. The bad part of that is that the bottom floor has tables, the top floor is all airline-style chairs where you won't be able to compute if the person in front of you leans their chair back. There is wi-fi, there are power outlets. The wi-fi is about what you should expect from a moving bus and being shared amongst 50 people. Slow, but not prohibitive necessarily. From Mobile you'll drive 90 minutes to Evergreen, stopping at a Love's truck stop for snacks and the peehole. Then another stop in the parking lot of a Pep Boys for the Montgomery "stop", and off to the final leg - Atlanta. Going, no complaints. Returning, had a scary driver. We drifted a lot and even one time came to a quick stop on the shoulder of the highway (without explanation). On time going, an hour late returning. Everyone on the bus is super nice, so if you want to talk then the time will go by super fast. My ticket was $50 round trip, I definitely can't complain because they got me to and fro without much pain. read more

Will never ride Megabus again earlier this year was stuck on the highway for over 5 hrs cause the bus broke down from Houston to New Orleans. Tried them again last weekend, it was so hot on the bus I could barely breathe. Had to call corporate to get help and nothing ever happened. The bottom was sweltering heat and the top was freezing cold. Woke up sick sunday morning with a cold. Now they wanna give me vouchers to ride again. No way am I endangering my life or health again. They are a RIP off. read more

I gave Megabus 4 stars because it's cheap. The bus has plenty of leg space is marginally clean, on time and comfortable. Customer service is nice and helpful if you call them on the phone. Don't expect help from the driver or their helpers when they pick you up on the street corner (there are very few Megabus stations in the United States). If you don't have a reservation number you will NOT get on the bus. It's a gamble if you miss your bus and try to catch a later bus without a new reservation. The bus driver may let you on......The bus driver may not let you on......lol The drivers can be a tad unfriendly...but they are just doing their job and I appreciate them getting me to my destination on time and safe. Tip......if you book your trip 45 days in advance you can get a $1 ticket and if something comes up and you can't use your ticket you can exchange it for a ticket going somewhere else if you make the changes online at least 24 hours prior to your ticket date......sweet. It would be nice if Megabus serviced more States. read more

They are horrible! I didn't even want to give them a one but you have to rate them. Two bad experiences with them. Sit for hours at the bus station and the bus doesn't show up. Then when you call customer service they lie stating that the bus was at the station between certain times. Well if that was true why are a bunch of people still at the station waiting for it? Then when someone else calls they are told the bus was there but they state different times. Horrible! Never again. read more

I LOVED riding on Megabus. I used it once when I went to Europe, and used it again going from Tallahassee to Orlando, with the experience being amazing both times. The buses are really nice on the inside, with plenty of leg room and comfortable seating. My biggest advice is to bring a blanket or dress warmly because when I sat on the top deck it was excruciatingly cold. The buses were on time, and the drivers were incredibly nice. There were not many people on the bus so I got two chairs to myself both times, and the other passengers were very respectful. You definitely can't beat the price and quality of Megabus! People often say "you get what you pay for," but with Megabus, you get MORE than what you pay for. read more

I had a great experience coming from Orlando Florida to Mobile Alabama. My driver was competent and punctual. My trip from Miami to Orlando Florida was not stellar but overall;I felt safe and comfortable. All in all dollar for dollar very good quality. You are not going to find a more affordable travel option out there. Grab your pillow, headphones, and blanket and just be sure to arrive 30 minutes ahead of schedule. read more

My experience with Megabus was pretty awful. Our bus from Houston to New Orleans was an hour late picking us up, and someone somehow managed to overinflate the tires, so we had to stop and fix that, making us even later. The bathrooms were disgusting, with liquid on the floor that could have been anything. On our way back from Orlando to New Orleans, we were stranded for 3 hours on the side of the road while waiting for a tow truck to fix a flat tire. One of our drivers was very rude to customers and the other spoke such bad English we could hardly understand him. The wifi on the bus doesn't work, and the buses are kept at an uncomfortably cold temperature the drivers claim to have no control over. The $1 tickets are also a lie, since we ended up paying $80 for 4 tickets. They are also inconsistent on the reserved seating rules, allowing customers who didn't reserve them to sit there sometimes and other times not. Overall, I didn't have a good experience and wouldn't recommend Megabus to anyone. It's cheaper and easier to drive, and you'll have a much better time. read more
