For one, he has a fantastic eye for photography. Your photos will not only look magazine ready, but he will find that indescribable thing that makes you unique as a couple. When you look back at your photos you won't be saying "who are these people?" You'll say "this is us!" Second, he has an incredibly calming presence. Weddings can be quite stressful, especially when planning them yourself. But after every pre-wedding meeting with him we felt so assured because we knew that Russell had it handled. We had lots of questions for him and he had answers, and thanks to his advice we were able to smartly plan out the entire wedding. He made sure to check on all the family dynamics to make sure to not accidentally cause drama between guests, and helped talk us through the schedule with his extensive wedding experience. Once the day came he was very professional and on top of everything, and there was never a moment that went off track or caught him off guard. Russell was able to easily direct our families for the group photos and made sure that nobody felt left out. We even had our dog present for the first look, ceremony, and group photos, and it didn't phase him one bit. Afterwards Russell made sure we were happy with how our photos turned out (which of course we were, because Russell is great), and we were easily able to communicate with him about any notes we had during the wedding album preparation, and we're so happy with the result. They will be right there with you for every step. For our first (civil) wedding we had a silly, vapid ditz who took pretty pictures but was a day-long eye roll. Rick, on the other hand, was a delight. He understood the significance of what we were doing and contributed to the sweet spirit of the day. Also, I can tell you that there is nothing he will not do to get a shot--lie on the ground, climb up a mountain in dress shoes, whatever. The man is committed to his craft! And also a bit obsessive in a good way. He turned around our pics in something like 36 sleepless hours. Last time we had to wait a month. Highly recommend Rick!
