I had an extremely disappointing experience with this mehndi artist, Naheed! My original appointment was canceled at the scheduled time, and when I agreed to reschedule for 10 PM (even though it was quite late), she didn't show up. Then she pushed it again to 11 PM and still never came. I had clearly mentioned that I have work the next day, but there was absolutely no respect for my time. Because of her cancellations and no-shows, I ended up with no mehndi on my hands for the festival I look forward to every year. This was my first time booking with her, and it was such a terrible experience. Highly unprofessional, unreliable, and unethical. Naheed was great to work with. She asked all of her questions ahead of time and also discussed the designs I wanted during our initial discussion. Pros: She sent me many choices to choose from. Naheed also confirmed the date and time a couple of days before the event. On the day of the mehendi appointment, she was late but she let me know she was running late. Good communication skills. Naheed was patient with the kids and was quick too. She had many designs that the kids could choose from. She was also flexible when we went over the previously discussed allotted time. In the end, the mehendi designs turned out great and the stain came out very dark. Got lots of compliments for the designs on both my feet and hands. I have posted pictures of her work. Cons: One drawback was that she doesn't put mehendi on boys. My son wanted it a small design on his palm and that didn't happen. However, I didn't think to ask this question beforehand so, that's on me. She also does listen to a lot of the conversation happening around her and asks a lot of personal questions which we did not like. So, note that when you hire her, she will be nosy in your affairs. read more

I can't say enough about the amazing work of Naheed at Mehendi Palace. Naheed is a henna/mehendi artist who can create works of art within minutes. I contacted her two weeks before my henna party and she was responsive and complied with my request. She was affordable at $75/hr and drove all the way to Hercules to where my mehendi was held (with a travel fee of $50 but since I hired her for 4 hour event, she gave me a discount of $25). My guests raved about how efficient and talented she was and that she was the best henna artist they've met. This was telling of the long lines that was formed to get their henna done. I got my henna done from mehendi palace on July 5th for an occasion, first time here, I was recommended by family members, owner is a nice lady, friendly and keeps professionalism, she will show you designs according to your budget and won't force or try to sell expensive designs, she makes her own henna, the color turned out to be beautiful and I seen color getting dark day by day and after 4 days it still looks fresh. I was on budget as I have spent too much money on other things already and so I got both hands under $25 from the style and color of it.. It was a steal.. I have gotten my henna done in the past by different henna artist and they charge 20.00 per hand, so Naheed (owner) is great, book her for weddings, parties whatever the occasion is, she is very affordable. Naheed was nice and came to my home for a last minute event. She is scared of dogs so that changed our plans a bit as we had a setup for the whole family living room. So we had to do mehendi in a small room as they're little yappers and want to be around me. She also doesn't apply mehendi to men, but did a small design for my fiancé and my young nephews. There is a 2 hour minimum, even though we were done in 1.5 hours. She seemed a bit tired too, but she did good work. My mehendi lasted about 4 days before noticeable fading began. I won't be able to use her again, since I need someone comfortable around dogs and will apply to men for my later events. read more

She was very good at responding to all my emails and phone calls and gave me a very competitive package rate. On the day, she drove all the way to my place in Oakland. She deftly completed my mehendi (full arms) in under 2 hours and then proceeded to paint smaller tattoos on all my guests' hands, adding a touch of glitter for added enjoyment.
