The weekly changing lunch menu has some outstanding dishes. Last week I enjoyed the Cajun bean soup on a cold day. The spicy warmth hit the spot. Had the delicious Cowboy Cobb salad today. Flavor mixture was great. I would have liked a few more bites of that moist chicken but the mixture of guacolmoli, beans, and spices was well done. Yum! And the staff ar friendly. And delicious, and everything was $1. No. I was not dreaming. I was doing my weekly shopping at Eastern Market. And I was so happy! I talked to one of the owners (Gary) and his daughter. They were so sweet and more than happy to talk to me and tell me about everything and all of their products. I ended up getting a brownie with chocolate buttercream frosting and walnuts. Oh. My. Gosh. More please! The piece was like six-inch square and was a wallet-friendly dollar. I only wish I would have bought like 12 or more! I was really surprised when I finally tried the brownie because it was "cakey" variety and I generally stand firmly in the 'brownies should be fudgey NOT cakey" camp. It was light but packed a great and rich chocolate flavor. The buttercream was so smooth and flavorful! It tasted like chocolate but the true buttercream flavor still had a place on my palate.
