Normally I wouldn't write a review about a "dollar store" but this is more of a warning. This past…read morevalentines day I stopped into my local "Deals" store to pick up a few cheap items that I needed (rocks for a fountain I was building) I scoured the store for atleast 10 minutes before I finally gave up sifting through the clutter and headed for the front check out lanes...Once I was at the front of the store I noticed that to get my question answered I would have to stand in line at the only OPEN register, even though there were 4 men working up front. The store's manager had his back to me and was busy picking stuff off his shirt, while another male associate was sitting on a stool with a full load of dip in his mouth, spitting in a bottle and talking quite loudly on his cell phone. Dip boy looked up long enough to tell me he was "busy" and his lane wasn't open so I let him know I just needed the location of a bag of pebbles. He told me to go to aisle 5. Know what I found when I got to aisle 5....dog treats. No rocks...so finally I go back and wait in line for someone who's actually working to help me...I tell the checkout guy (who's line has emptied at this point) that I checked aisle 5 where I was told to go, but couldn't find rocks...he offered to help me by showing me..."nice I thought...actual customer service" We get to aisle 7 and he points "down there". GRRRREEEAAAT. Finally with rocks in hand I head for the check out...only to be greeted by checkout boy and his store manager (a clearly older man) to be in an arguement about taking breaks and lunches and the fact that "it wasn't fair that the manager got to leave early"....and did I mention the bombs they were dropping...listening to a boss actually call his employee an a-hole and a d&!k was not the way I wanted to spend my morning and I felt horrible for the lady with the kids behind me. Finally I had to tell the guy I was in a hurry to get him to stop complaining and do his job. Unfortunately a few hours later I had to go back with my motther and pick up more rocks (stupid fountain!) Once again, only one register was open and it was backed up at least 10 deep...with an older woman doing her weekly grocery shopping at the front. I went to the next line over where a girl was munchin on her skyline and checkout boy from earlier were standing...and he says "im off the clock"...ooook..back to the long line...about a minute later...skyline girl says "oh i'm open" and calls me over...are you kidding me? she starts complaining to ME about how she's been there all day and not eaten (when the boy cuts her off and says i was there earlier so that lie won't fly) And she basically begins her mouthing off about how management is a bunch of "jacka--es) I mean seriously?! Long story...still long...STAY AWAY...at least if you have kids...these people could care less about what they say or do (hello dipping) around customers or children!
